  • The Truth About Dating Congolese Women…
    Hey fam!
    Soooo today we are talking about Congolese women! I know dating is more about compatibility than anything else, but I also think that the cultures we grow up around affect how we date. So, take a seat as I explain what it means to date a Congolese woman. This is of course just my personal opinion, it’s not the bible. So, feel free to leave your opinions in the comments. You guys know I have always been passionate about showcasing the amazing culture that Congo has and this video is another step forward to achieving that goal. As always, your thoughts are welcomed, so feel free to put them down in the comments! Please do give this video a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe and spread the word! Much love!

    I think you're largely right. There's some individual stuff that will be specific to a specific relationship. You're right about African women in general because the expectation is for the man to be the provider. It's a source of shame if, for example the wife has to support the family while the husband studies. Our Mummy Pig is the only one who can do FuFu. I struggle to learn Congolese cuisine from Fatu because I need a recipe, she can't work with one so she can't communicate that information to me. But in general although she can cook very well I'm the foodie in the house and the better cook.

    Here's a question would you say that that view of dating is based on younger people just starting out? Do you think there's a slightly different mindset, different expectations when the would be couple have been in relationships before, for example 2 divorcees. Your parents are probably my age. Not going to speculate on them exactly but do you think there would be any differences between your dating habits and someone of your Mothers vintage? Again. I don't mean like having a bit on the side, but straight forward dating. As in 2 divorcees or even widows/widowers in their 40's or 50's.

      Congratulations! "Congolese" is her citizenship, which can be misleading. There are many ethnicities here and their cultures can be totally different - from matriarchal (Bakongo) to very patriarchal (Baluba). Some ethnicities have historically encouraged their women to actively seek to have kids with foreigners (African or European), and nowadays these women end up having children from different partners out of a wedlock. BTW, her family most likely is going to ask her to pay brideprice for her, before they allow that she gets married to you. Do you know which ethnicity she is?

    Super helpful! thank you for sharing this! I have a beloved lady from DR Congo and I still really don't know how to express my feelings to her... One time I've been very straightforward actually after visiting her for 3 times; "I understand what you are saying but No, I am not ready for a relationship" she said.
    Maybe she is thinking about my skin colour that is white(I am actually suffering to see Africans are looking different to me as a white man but I also understand the issues that white people have caused and made life very hard for Africans and the racism that is too obvious...I am so ashamed because of this and of course, I am against this foolish belief). I think I should give her some time; or kindly ANY SUGGESTIONS that you could give to my case(My apologies that I don't know your name).
    To let you know, she fully trusts me. I am getting to her apartment every time and she lives alone. I show my interest to French language and she really get excited! Btw we are both students in Cyprus! "Thanks for reading this"
    I am originally from Iran, in the middle east.

    No 50:50 mindset, the man should do everything, so what do they contribute to the relationship, what value do they add? Again, what is it about Congolese women and bad temper, I'm yet to meet one that isn't dramatic nor get angry easily. The positive I've seen however is that they are loyal.

    • @oh-cx7dr

      "so what do they contribute to the relationship" you western people are so transactional, us african woman already know our role as a wife/mother (catering to the home, the emotional state of the family, all domestic things) i would advise you to go back and rewatch the video. she is saying how congolese people believe there are unspoken things one must do in relationships that should feel natural. we will naturally contribute to the relationship because we love our partner, if we ever feel a mechanic need to "think about our value" we will just leave. notice how there are only western podcasters asking things like this and never african born men?

    Just my point of view. No fight. Calling a man, irresponsible or immature because he wants to split the bills 50/50 is normal for women, but calling Congolese women lazy or gold diggers is wrong? When we say that women are objects, or private property, they came from man, it is an insult ? I understand why married men in Congo cheat on their wives. At first it's fun to please women, but over time it becomes tiring to stay with a wife, who spends her days in prayer, she trusts her pastor, friends more than her husband, but asks everything to her husband, even toiletry. When these same men look elsewhere, where they can find responsible women who don't mind sharing bills as long as it's for the common good, and love them as they are and not for what they have, it will be these same women who are going to complain that there is no more men available for them. A relationship is about love. All depends on the will, and the means available. Given the financial crisis that the world is going through these days, I am for 50/50 when it comes to the affairs of the house, if I earn more I will pay everything, if I earn less then we split the bills. But when it comes to my personal business, I'm not going to do a 50/50. I'm not going to ask my wife, girlfriend to pay 50% for me to buy a football jersey. One thing i will never steal, kill to satisfy the desire of a woman. I would rather be called irresponsible.

    • @africaine4889
      @africaine4889 9 місяців тому +2

      Nah congolewe women mostly have sma businesses on the side. And everybody knows that we are there for our men and support the family because a lot of our men are jobless

    • @oh-cx7dr
      @oh-cx7dr 2 місяці тому +1

      she never called a man irresponsible/immature for wanting to split 50/50. she said she likes men who are responsible and know how to lead and then after said she personally wouldnt date a man who went 50/50. rewatch the video, she never conflated the two, so this "diary entry" you left under this comment section is unneeded.

    The Video is very General about most Women, I'm looking for specifics because Congo Women are like a different breed. The ones I've met are VERY STRANGE. First they won't HUG, they have all the Most Weird thoughts but something as simple as HUG won't happen, they all say it's Congo Tradition🤣🤣🤣 So I'm here thinking there's no way I'm doing this "NO SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE" THINGY Yet their browsing history is full of Porn, C'Mon NOW🤣🤣

    • @mbanzakongo8077
      @mbanzakongo8077 2 роки тому +1

      No they were not under us in Mbanza Kongo. The Zombo are a brand new ethnic group that originated in Kinshasa, DRC.
      They claim origins from Kongo but they speak a creole language.
      The only true people of the Kongo Kingdom are those in Mbanza Kongo. We are known as the EsiKongo!

      @@kongo4294 There is no 'BaKongo' tribe in DRC. They all call themselves something else like Manianga, Lemba, Yombe, Ntandu etc.
      Only in Angola we have the EsiKongo who live in the 'zaire province ' of Angola and speak kisikongo. We are the only KONGO and called ourselves KONGO!
      Kongo for us means hunter and only that and all Angolan languages same meaning of Kongo.
      In DRC 'Kikongo languages' they have many different fake meanings of Kongo 🤦🏽‍♂️
      The 'BaKongo' in DRC are a mixture of people who were once related to the EsiKongo but we have been separated with them since 1660s as they are mixed with many different bantu tribes such as Lunda and Teke etc.
      They just kept the name 'Kongo' without even knowing the real history or our culture.
      They even speak lingala and claim to be Kongo???
      An Mbundu (NDongo) is far closer to an EsiKongo in language and culture than a DRC 'mukongo' is.
