Loose style Acrylic and charcoal exercise

Acrylic paint (2 colours) and charcoal sketch filmed in real time with a few edits.
This is a great way to experiment with creating more dynamic marks to your work, it can bring a composition to life but don't think of this as a finished perfect work of art simply use it as a first step or try out the method to generate ideas for a large canvas. This is like a warm up exercise that you would use to begin a creative session, I find it is a big help and will often change the way you thought about your work. If you are teaching an art class this is a great exercise to start with as a way to introduce students to unfamiliar mediums, the mix of the fluidity of the paint and the strong lines of the charcoal is an interesting combination.
Although this demo is filmed in real time as I worked, the paint was allowed at least 1 hour of drying time before I began to draw with the charcoal. I paint over the unfixed charcoal with water to create interesting texture and tones. When completed the work should be sprayed with a suitable fixative to prevent smudging.
I really want to try and film more of these exercises in real time, so you can see the whole process without any cuts or time lapse sequences.
