Yuzuru Hanyu (羽生 結弦, Hanyū Yuzuru, born December 7, 1994) is a Japanese figure skater who competes in the men's singles discipline. He is a two-time Olympic champion (2014, 2018), a two-time World champion (2014, 2017), a four-time Grand Prix Final champion (2013-2016), a Four Continents champion (2020), the 2010 World Junior champion, the 2009-10 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and a four-time Japanese national champion (2012-2015). Upon winning the 2020 Four Continents Championships, Hanyu became the first and only male singles skater to achieve a Super Slam, having won all major competitions in his senior and junior career.
Hanyu has broken world records nineteen times-the most times amongst singles skaters since the introduction of the ISU Judging System in 2004. He holds the current world record for the short program, in addition to the historical world records for all three segments for the era before the 2018-19 season. He is the first man to have broken the 100-point barrier in the men's short program, the 200-point barrier in the men's free skating, and the 300-point barrier in the combined total score.
Hanyu is the first Asian figure skater competing in men's singles to win the Olympic gold. At nineteen years old, he was the youngest male skater to win the Olympic title since Dick Button in 1948. He also became the first man to win two consecutive Olympic gold medals since Button's back-to-back titles in 1948 and 1952. At the 2016 CS Autumn Classic International, Hanyu became the first skater in history to successfully land a quadruple loop in competition. He is the first men's singles skater from Asia to win multiple World Championships.

wow it's not been even a month of 2021 and you can make a whole video of his quads. man, he is clearly from another world, such an impressive ad great skater.
His quads from the sp were not very assertive this time. I think it could be due to nerves from first performance after 10 months. But the ones from the fs were another level. Still not at his best tho and that tells u how good of a jumper he is. Hanyu's strengths with his jumps are 1. they are actually part of the choreography 2. they hit the music note to the t 3. they have great transitions in and out of the jumps 4. they have gigantic height and distance 5. they have flow in and out of the jumps 6. they have correct technique with minimal prerotation 7. they have soft knee landings
And they look effortless.
“They hit the music note to the T”. This is why he’s my favorite. Whenever he lands on beat just gives me goosebumps.
Couldn't agree more..
His GOE is japanese standards, he might have gotten more if it is Russian or American standards 🤔
I’m just amazed that he still manages to score so high although japanese scoring standards are very strict as compared to US and Russian standards
Maria Jesse Anne Gloria It’s more strict? Really? Wow, I had no idea, that’s kinda surprising.
Amazing program, amazing skater Yuzuru Hanyu the King of figure skating!
Definitely
Japanese: Strict - Underscoring
Other Countries: Overscoring
Not really. 4S had a rough landing, without the *GREAT* landing bullet, he can only realistically get a +2. Same with the 4T3T. He was generously scored for the jumps he put out in the SP atleast.
great performance 😍😍😍😍😍my prince of ice
There is no comparison between Yubzuru and any other male skater...even Chen😱
Are they going to let him go to Stockholm tho?
Yes,agree!
@@aclark903 he will be competing!!!
🥰🥰🥰
БОГ !!!!
He has not done his quad Lutz in either one of those routines yet and he needs that to beat Nathan Chen sad as it may seem.
I know, I'm the mean judge, but I wouldn't have given Yuzu or Nathan as high GEOs as they got. Neither of them had the best flow out and Nathan especially forgot to bend his knees. But of course they hadn't competed in a year so that is understandable. Either way, I hope they are both improved by the next time we see them. The showdown is only great when they are at their A games.
Yuzurus free skate quads were pretty good in japan nationals
U not the judge so nobody cares what u think the score is lolllllllll
@@keigotakami1741 Meh, the 4Lo and 4S were good. The toes weren't really anything special considering how good he is.
