None of the girls do the quints by themselves only the boy and Veronika Zhilina who is not there can do 1 quintuple jump. They are possible to do by some skaters. If the skaters learn it at age 14/ 15, then more quintuple jumps can be done too. It might be good to start teaching gifted young skaters triples when they are 6 and 7 , they will have to be extremely cautious and very strong athletes. Ilia should put someday a quintuple jump in his program!

Para Yuzuru hanyu era tan fácil lograr esa tercera medalla olímpica consecutiva... 😢 Yuzuru quería lograr el 4A..😭😭😭😭 Se lesionó durante la práctica y para la gala en Beijing tuvo que tomar 6 veces la dosis normal de analgésicos...😭😭😭😭 Me duele mucho que no haya podido lograr ninguna de las dos cosas en ese momento 😭 También es cierto que él, es el que más lesiones ha tenido que superar, es una persona con asma y prácticamente es un sobreviviente de un terremoto tsunami... Figure skating was a sport that was disappearing because it was boring and nobody was really interested in watching a bunch of men wearing feminine clothes strolling around the ice....I had never once watched an entire program in figure skating though I used to see short video clips of ice skaters on television during the skating seasons. Never once did I want to watch an entire program of any figure skater. Suddenly, a short 10 seconds clip of Yuzuru Hanyu's performance was enough of a strong pull to take a note of his name, Yuzuru, and search for his performances on UA-cam and watch him skate with his heart, soul & spirit, mind, and all of his physical strength. This young man named Yuzuru Hanyu came into our consciousness with just short clip of his delivery on ice. His super athletic and incredibly artistic skating was hypnotic. Enchanting. Ethereal. Lovely. Beautiful. Powerful. His skating was technically superior and his hand and leg movements made his performance look more like an artistic masterpiece than a sport performance. Yuzuru made you want to sit back, take a deep breath, and look at his skating because there was so much grace, beauty, love, and emotions poured into his craft. That is what it was. His performance was his craft. Yuzuru Hanyu is a craftsman.

Yuzuru Hanyu's achievements include breaking 19 world records, 3 of which were world records that he himself had set in his earlier performances. The rise of likes of Uno and Kaori with their hideous jumps is why I don't even watch competitions anymore. I miss jumpers with actual great techniques like Chen, Hanyu, Yuna, Liza etc. If these skaters are gonna do nothing but jump in their FS at least do it properly. Shoma and Kaori winning the world's consecutively with their terrible Floops and Flutz is just insulting to this sport.

I know quads are difficult, but quints? I see severe pre-rotation starting from the blade. That, alongside the spine’s excessive twisting, is a cause for not only injury, but a short skating career. Is this what we want our younger generation to endure? Artistry is being lost over execution of jumping technique.

Beliavsky did a quintuple jump on ice on February! It was on Instagram.

Did you hear Veronika Zhilina did last month a 5axel on the ice at Plushenko's Club! It was done without a harness! She learned her first triples when she was 8.

She was the best and still is the best!! What's happening now in women figure skating is a joke. Hoping she recovers from the injuries and takes her rightful place as the Queen of high technical and artistic skating.

So sad she got injured. She would have been the top female now compared to the ‘top’ women nowadays. She’s superior to Kaori by far! Both technically and artistically. Miss her!

4S, 3T and 3S all under-rotated, but great effort. I miss her.

With all respect to NC's talent & hard works, I felt tired with his jumps and got bored with his performances . But for Yuzuru Hanyu, I re-watch him everyday during 7 months till today since I found him out in youtube. His jumps raised me up and his performances made me felt beloved 😊 . I used to like FS from young ages but quitted watching it since mid 199x. But now I felt in love again with watching YH ❤
