    The inset frameless is what caught my eye and got me to watch. I work at a hardware distributor and I’ve gathered a good amount of product knowledge but I’ve only recently started watching videos showing the materials in use, so the inset application jumped out at me. Looks great and thanks for sharing!!

      I’m glad it caught your eye and you enjoyed it! I bet working at a hardware distributor is fascinating, you must have a great sense of what trends in hardware are rising at any given time. Let’s hope for an increase in inset frameless doors, I definitely think there is room in the market for this design and hardware. Thanks again for watching and your insightful comment.

    To further the card trick for fitting the door/drawer fronts. Just take them all and fit on 1 side til you can't fit any more. Then count the cards, split them, instantly centered. No trial, one time and done.

    Very informative, you make it look easy. After pricing what a kitchen full of new cabinets will cost I’m trying to talk my husband into making them instead. Can’t wait to show him your video

      So glad to hear you were able to get some good information from it! Cabinetry can be extremely expensive especially if you are going with a custom or semi custom kitchen. Building them is time consuming and still relatively expensive, but much less then the cost of purchasing would be and I’ve found the process of making cabinets very rewarding. Good luck with the new kitchen and I hope the video helps if you decide to build.

    Great job.
    I have the same jigs that you have, but the jig you used for the drawer slides and can be used to mount the drawers.
    And can be used to mount the doors.
    I learned the hard way.
    I'm new to your channel.
    Great job and finally the music was music to my ears. 😂 hearing aids are loud but you guitar music is the best.
    Thank you and God Bless.

    Nice work. One suggestion (as if no one ever gives suggestions on UA-cam), even if the paint says paint and primer in one, with raw wood, always prime first.

      That’s great advice thank you! I’ll definitely try that on the next project. Maybe it will save me from having to add so many coats or hopefully even give me a better finished project, which is the whole point right? Thanks again for the suggestion I look forward to trying it out and I’ll follow up with another comment and let you know what differences I notice.

    The pass with the router you made at the 5:03 mark. Is that considered the correct direction? Because I think on a router table it would be the opposite direction. Just wondering.
    Really great results with your cabinetry. I am thinking of doing my kitchen over. Your results look clean. The cabinetry I have in place is frameless. I was thinking of dismantling them and using them as a template guide.

    • @OneWayToMake
      @OneWayToMake  2 роки тому

      That is a great question and I don’t have a perfect answer for you, but I will try my best. I believe that I am using the router in the correct direction in that clip, the bit spins in a clock wise motion looking from the top of the router down and the cutting edges of the bit are designed to make contact with the wood first so by moving the router in this direction I am essentially feeding the wood into the cutting edge of the router bit. This is at least my understanding of the process. I do believe you are correct about the router table though, by turning the router upside down you are now forced to change the direction you are feeding the wood. Take a screenshot of the 5:03 mark you mentioned and rotate it 180 degrees vertically and it should mimic what you are used to seeing on the router table just imagine the wood is moving instead of the router. If anyone knows more about this or has a better way to explain it please feel free to jump in or correct me if I got anything wrong. As far as your cabinetry goes I think that is a great idea. Usually cabinet boxes don’t age a kitchen as much as the doors and hardware do and doors are way easier to make. I really like the idea of removing your doors and drawer faces, adding a fresh coat of paint or stain to your cabinet boxes, remaking just the doors and drawer faces to fit your style, using the old ones as a guild, and throwing some new door handles or pulls on them. This would totally overhaul the look of your kitchen but only cost a fraction of what a full remodel would. Best of luck on the project and thanks so much for the comment.

    is it emerald color? looks beautiful. I have to make one too.

    • @OneWayToMake
      @OneWayToMake  2 роки тому

      I'm so glad you like the color. The paint is made by Benjamin Moore and the color is called seedling, which is nice, but I prefer your name. Next time someone asks the color of my mudroom I'll definitely be telling them we call it emerald. You should totally make one too, it's really not that hard and it was a lot of fun too. Best of luck on your project, and thanks again.

    Dust collection. Respirator.

      That’s a very good point, and I have no excuse for the respirator and will definitely try to do better about wearing one. We all need reminders to be safer, and as far as dust collection goes I know I have a lot of improvements to make on the front but I have some ideas to make it better I’ll be implementing soon so stay tuned for that, and thanks for the advice and the reminder to stay neat and safe.

    For sure, although I was able to get a hold of it a few weeks ago, I just checked and his plans can still be downloaded at no cost. I just happened to go'ogle Woody Hyezmar's Woodworking Bible and got it before he decided to sell it or something lol, have a good one!

    If you ever in need of wood putty just caught it out of your lungs for not wearing masks protection and dust collection system.
