    Thanks Harvey, I just picked up 2 chinese 150 cc quads that don't run, one of them is a no crank, the other is a crank, but no spark. Your video shows the skeleton of the electrical systems on these bikes, I should now be able to figure them out. Great video, please keep them coming!!!

Please check out some of my latest videos, I'm working on a Sunl offroad cart, it has 150cc gy6 type engine in it that I have been doing a lot of ignition work on, the wire harness was cut up, so, I'm ore or less building one from scratch....     No electronics works properly without a good power source and especially a "Good Ground!" Not only will a bad ground cause a failure it will send you in circles when troubleshooting with a volt/ohm meter because you will get false and misleading readings. Great video Harvey! P.S. The Stator is on the other side of the engine by the shifter.

    I'd like to say thank you for all the information you're providing through your channel. So last Friday I bought a 125 cc coolster automatic atv for my daughter. She's recently outgrown her 50cc and I bought her the larger one in hopes of having it running before our weekend was through. Well the guy I bought it from said that all I needed was a battery and I'd have a running atv. HE LIED!!!! After purchasing the quad I realized that there was no ignition he said that I'd need some plastics for it but never said anything about needing a ignition. So I tried to contact him through the social media site I found him through to get ignored. What I'm hoping is for a better understanding of how to get this thing running with the harness he provided minus the ignition idk your probably explaining it in this or the video before this but I'm so furious with this situation that I can't quite catch the stuff your throwing. Any ways lmk if you have any advice I assure you that it would be greatly appreciated.

    hey I have a Roketa 125cc I'm putting together. it has a new motor, carburetor starter solenoid, ignition coil, cdi box and it won't start . I've watched a bunch of your videos but I am stuck with this one particular black wire that comes off my four pin CDI box.

    Hello Harvey,
    I have 1997 Lt160 and when i bought it the CDI was already removed from it. I have two questions in this regard,
    how to know whether it will take a AC or DC cdi. I looked at the service manual but got no information regarding this.
    If I use the AC CDI: I have two wires coming from the pulsar. Green and blue. but the AC CDI only has one wire for the pulsar. how do i connect that.
    how do i connect a DC CDI if this model takes one.

    i have a chinese hawk 250cc. my stator doesnt have a red and black wire. it has an electric start so i can jump start it as long as the red and black wire from the cdi is connected to the jumper cable. how can i get power from my stator to power my cdi?

    I got a roketa 250cc was running good. Went to ride it , turn switches on, wires to tile you want gear your in caught on fire. It still ran.I ordered a new wiring harness put it on,now it won't start. I'm not getting fire from CDI Ignitor box to coil.

    can you tell me what harness kit i need for my 2007 Jiangsu linhai 250 cc quad. i see a bunch of yellow wires coming from the stater on the bike. a cant find a harness kit with all the yellow wires. so im lost at this point. plus its a 4x4 with a 4x4 selecter switch.

    Hi got a roketa 250 with almost all the wiring gone had three yellow wires coming off stater that go strait to the regulator and ground/blue white to pulse generater cdi has black yellow to coil blue white to pulse and 2 grounds then a white and black off the 2 pin plug can I just put the 2 ground to frame and what are the white/ solid black

      Hey Todd, U need to float the black/white wire, when grounded, it turns off the engine.... Ur CDI needs to get power from somewhere, from this wiring diagram, looks like it wants 12VDC, I think that is where the solid black wire goes, here is the wiring diagram, double check me.... www.kazumapower.com/roketa-atv-250-wiring-diagram-pi-10429.html , I hope this helps, let me know how it all turns out....       yeah just really in deep with this one not even sure that it is the original stater or pulse gen I know it's not the original cdi I ordered a new dc cdi for it to eliminate anything to do with the stater as there is no wire for cdi but am concerned it is not the right pulse generator ie gap or lining up with fly wheel I look online and there is 15 different models that well say there for a roketa 250 really kinda at a loss waiting for new dc cdi yup wire that in and cross fingers is there anything else you would recommend

    On the ac ignition set up. Since you showed the regulater/rectifier where do the yellow go to,& where does the white go to. I know one charges the battery,& I think one comes in off the main harness.

    I have been trying to fix a China 110 atv for my friends kid. I bought a kit online that replaced everything electrical.. I have checked everything 100 times and can't see why there is no spark. All ohms reading are what you say they should be. Do you have volt specs? How many volts to coil? Voltage from stator on red/blk and blue/white?

      Hey Samuel, Disconnect the battery from the ATV, charge it up, let is sit for a few days, hook it up and see if it held the charge, assuming it does, there are basically 3 circuits that run off Ur 12Volts, the start circuit, the lights, and the accessories.... Assuming Ur starter is not running all the time and that Ur lights are off, that leaves the accessories including the remote control safely turnoff if there is one.... Thanks where I would look....     Thank you for your informative videos. So a Chinese quad came into my shop the other day. I cleaned the carb and put it back together. I tried to start it and no spark. I took the black and white wire pin out of the connector and just let it hang. Got spark and it runs great. My question is, how do I get a kill switch to work on it? I have tried everything I can think of to get the kill switch to work. If I plug the white and black wire back in, it goes back to no spark. Is there another circuit I can wire a switch into? Maybe the black and red?

    I have a 125cc in a Chinese go kart and I put a brand new stator in it two nights ago and I’m still not getting spark and I’ve changed all the electrical things that come as a pack from Amazon such as CDI and everything else but I eliminated everything so I don’t have to deal with lights wiring and all that so just wires that run the motor and I’m getting power from all wires from the stator except the blue and white one and I don’t know why, anybody know what the problem could be?

      I unplugged the cdi and got power threw a few wires from the stator but when plugged in no spark to anything

    I've got a question... replaced my stator and now have no spark.. connected the wires exactly as shown and I get a spark....only problem is when I connect the kill stwicth I get no spark (if I connect the black/white wire from the cdi to the kill switch I get spark... anything else I put on the opposite end of the kill switch.. no spark... tried to run it and it runs with just the b/w wire connected to kill switch but had to pull spark plug to turn it off as the kill switch doesn't work... what am I doing wrong... (BTW start switch works fine)
    At this point any help is appreciated

      Hey fishintuber, The way the kill switch works is that it take the black wire with the white stripe and it connects that to ground, to me, it sounds like Ur kill switch is shorted, I would start by replacing that....     our son was riding around the other day on his 110 atv and the battery (mounted underneath with a strap) fell. the strap let go. so it yanked all the positive and negative cables and generally made a mess. now it wont run, does absolutely nothing when you try to start it. stone dead. cant figure out where the negative battery cable goes. its attached to the battery itself and everything ive read says it just is a ground and to attach it to the frame. no obvious place where it was ripped off from. anyone have any suggestions? could something else have gotten wrecked? google has been no help.

      Hey Jessica, When a battery falls out, several things can get damaged at once, I would start by hooking a wire from the battery (-) to the engine, ground, in a solid way, make sure that the wire is thick enough to carry the current, leave it there if it is not the fix as it maybe one of a few problems. Next check the battery to make sure it was not damaged and is holding a charge, then I would look at the positive side of the circuit, the starting relay or the wires going to it may have been damaged....     Can u help me please I have a pit bike 110cc I had no spark so I changed the stater I changed the wiring arnis and I changed the CDI box and I got it all running again. But wen I'm riding the bike it seems like the choke is on?. I cleaned the carb and it's still the same. But I'm starting to think it's sucking air through the vacuum intake would that be my problem? Any information would be much appreciated...

    I have a question with my quad it’s a 110 or 125 not sure I just put a new key switch in it but it won’t turn over but the only way the light come on is when you jump the solenoid but it won’t
    Turn over or do anything do you know what my problem is

    Hey Harvey spent some more time on my taotao 110b and it has a good wiring harness so I dont want to hack it up. It just quit on me one day and wasent getting spark. I bout a new cdi voltage regulator starter cylanoid battery and key switch. Now I have a very week spark. Do you recomend getting a performance cdi box or stay with the stock ones? And have you gotten a week spark off a cdi straight out of the box from eBay. In one of your videos you said to get an extra one is that because some are bad because ive been going over this quad for weeks and bow I'm thinking I just got a bad cdi. What's your opinion. But when u put 12v jump starter to starter it has lots of fire.. I am completely confused. Plz help

    Question. Tao tao atv won't start. Turn key and it turns over but kill switch is off, brake not held, and starter button not pushed. Any ideas?

    Hey, I have a Linhai 300 4x4. My 2011 atv suddenly stopped when I was reversing, used hard while moving snow.
    no spark when I push the button, but sparks alot when I relase the button.
    it starts sometimes but then misfires and dies.
    So, any common faults I should look for?

    Nice video ! I am trying hard to get a chinese ac cdi to fire my Yam Grizzly600 ! All coils ohm correctly ! Source/ac power about 60-75 volts . I am using a 5 wire and I think I need a 6 wire ? My question is whether 5 or 6 wire the trigger and source coils both have 2 wires each ! I have not seen any videos or wire diagrams showing where those wires attach ? I have watched one video where the guy did a 500cc yamaha but he used a 6 wire ac cdi ? Can u help ? Thanks

    Hi Harvey,Just wonding your Honda 185 Quads,do they have a 12volt system ? and if they do the satator would be wound for 12volt ?. I have run into a problem, I can not fine any one to re-wind my stator. One guy said he would only wind the lighting coil & will not wind the other two coils ?, and other guy i contact would re-wind lighting coil & battey coil, and would not wind the Ignition coil ?. Do you think i could buy a Chinese Stator & take the coils off and put them on to my satator plate would they fit ?. If your Honda Quads 185 have 12volt system over there,How would i buy one from there ?.I do not want to stay with a 6volt system. I would to put a China ATV CDI DC system & use a 12volt Regulator / Rectifer. I now have a DC Casoli CDI & a 12volt high Racing ignition a yellow one. My 6Volt ignition coil use's a ballast R , i think this cuts the 6 volts down to 3volts. Many thank's.

    Hey Harvey just wanted to say thank you for all your insight on these China bikes. I went through the checklist on several videos I'm trying to figure out why my son's bike won't turn over. I turn on the key get my neutral light to come on I bought a new CDI box the blue one with the power lightbecause that's what I thought was out after checking every other option. And today that's CDI box came in so I plugged it in turn on the key push the foot brake safety switch and try to start it and it did not turn overso at that point I look down at the CDI box to look for the power light to be on and there is not a light on. Sir do you happen to know what would cause this and how to diagnose it and how to fix it? Thank you for your time I appreciate you

      Hey Mrs Doss!!! Off hand, I would say that it has bad gas in it, needs that swapped out and a carb cleaning, but, U should check to see if U have spark before U jump on my off hand diagnosis.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

    ok, do you know the proper test for a 7 wire three plug cdi? what is the proper resistance for the ign coil on the secondary part, service manual say 4 to 7 kv, all mine test open...

    Hi there, I have been trouble shooting my quad (son's birthday gift) for some time. Now I only have 1week to get it going.
    I have followed all these diagrams and when I turn engine iver I get lights, power to cei and all that good jazz. But I am getting ground across the coil.
    Green (ground) when. Hooked to battery I get a beep. Same on my blk/yel wire.. I am getting voltage from cdi box but it's going straight to the ground.
    Any ideas?

    i installed a new wiring harness on
    my 125cc atv loncin engine
    i do get a spark
    it only cranks when i have the light switch is on
    on the atv also if i remove the lights (unplug) i wont get a crank
    its a push start button.

    Great video. I have a eton viper 70 that used to run. When I turned the key the oil light would come on and then go off, then I’d hit start trigger and it would crank. Now I turn key and oil light does not come on and nothing happens when I hit start trigger. Just dead. Is this the ignition switch?

    Harvey Spooner, i have a lafin 200cc 5 speed motor that was running but stopped after i moved to my new place. I had all the wires hooked up to where the motor ran outside the motorcycle. Im guessing during the move they came undone & i cant remember how they went. Ive seen videos, schematics, read threads & post & can not get it going again. Any suggestions/ideas?

      Hey Zantiago, The pulse generator provides a small pulse of electrons which triggers the CDI unit to release the huge pile of electrons that it saved up from the power provided to it from the stator.... The pulse generator, provides timing, the stator provides power, (4 cycle engines), some 2 cycle engines use the stator to provide timing and power.... I hope this helps....     Hey ive got a 200cc gy6 that has a new carb but runs a little bit and dies and you have to wait 15 minutes and start it again
    What could cause it

      Hey Carl!!! A lot of the GY6 engines were fed from a gas tank with a vacuum interlock, if the engine stops running, or it the vacuum line is broken, there is only enough fuel to run for a short period.... I would look for a restricted fuel supply first.... Though it is more rare, sometimes when a CDI, spark coil, pulse generator, or stator coil go bad, they only act up when they are hot... I would also change the plug, I messed with a mini bike that would run for 15 minutes and then die, start up fine when it was cold and pull the 15 minute strunt again, I dumped the gas, changed the carb, checked the spark and finally changed the plug which fixed it.... China plugs like to do this! Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting, Good Luck, change the plug, go with a new NDK first....

    I have an Alpha sport 50cc mini cobra, That keeps blowing the only in line fuse on it,,,It runs straight From the Battery.. as soon as I turn the switch on it Blows the Fuse!!!I was told to put foil around it and see where I see smoke: within 2min the coil started smoking!!! Also with the fuse forced open it would turn over but with NO SPARK so they said that's it bad coil!!! So I ordered a new 1, put it on, and still have the same problem with fuse blowing every time I turn the switch on!! PLEASE HELP My Daughter is coming down for the summer in a month and I would really like to have it going!!!

      Hey Jim, Don't wrap fuses in foil, that tends to make what was good electronics go bad.... This is a little 50cc 2 stroke engine.... I would replace the coil, the cdi, and an external resistor if there is one.... Check the wire harness for abrasions that could lead to short circuits.... If there is a remote turn off, the ignition system is complicated and fixing it by email will be very difficult.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting.... Good Luck!

    Alright, before the bashing I must state. I got a free E-Ton 50cc raptor for free. Was told it "ran" when it was parked. The motor has compression. But some wires are cut some are torn. And none of the colors match anything on the videos I have watched. I'm lost.

    Well i have watched your videos... they help allot... not that i like wiring , really who does.. I believe i have a case of bad parts... but if you can do a demonstration on how to check if a solenoid switch is good or bad. I got 2 atv's: one was running fine at Uncle house and then it stopped responding to push button it would start by crossing the two pole on solenoid but that not very proper, i had new harness for my 110 robbed the solenoid from it same thing nothing sending power to push button i checked all wires, only found one cut(blk-whit) Probably my fault. fixed it .. still nothing.. So how can I check to see if solenoid is good or bad...

      Hey Thomas, If U have the right 3 wires the answer is yes.... A blue/white, or blue/yellow for the CDI pulse generator, red/black which is power from the stator for the CDI, and black/yellow from the CDI unit to the spark coil,.... The other side of the Pulse generator, the other side of the stator, one pin to the cdi, and the other side of the spark coil all need to be grounded though...     man i need your help ! i got 110cc china atv its wiring was nightmare but i connect them all as the wiring diagram says in the internet but it doesn't have any spark ! im sure that the CDI and Coil are working because i checked them on my my other atv but when i crank her it doesnt gave me any spark ! please help !

    Hey Harvey. Trying to get spark out of my sons 125cc 4 wheeler. But it seems all my wires are ground coming from the stator and cdi. Is that right? I have it wired completely like yours. New coil. New cdi on the way. New plug. Just having no luck, and maybe it’s the original cdi crapped out but was working perfectly before it was disconnected. Great vids by the way! They are really helpful!!

    I hope you respond to this cause I really could use some help. I have a UTV it uses a cfmoto cf188 500cc engine and all the harness and electrical from what I can tell is cfmoto. It is an off brand but Roketa sells the same exact UTV as the one I have. It is actually a BMX 500 or from what I can find the actual China manufacturer is XinYang it's model number 500s or something like that. I can't find anything as far as a wiring diagram to fix my no spark issue. I have replaced the CDI unit, the ignition coil and the stator /pickup coil. It has been a nightmare. It doesn't use an CDI unit I have found on anything except this unit. I was going to see if I could use your CDI hack and buy a different CDI and only hook up what I need basically to try and get it to fire. It was missing the starter solenoid and wiring to it. I have no idea what wires go to it other then a start wire from the ignition switch, the starter wire and a battery wire. Should it have a ground from the CDI? IDK if you have dealt with anything like this or not just really need help. I saved it from the scrapper motor has good compression and it's actually a really nice unit. All the lights turn on and everything works other then I can't get spark. I am going to try putting a different starter relay on it that has two prongs instead of just one and run a ground from the pulser to it, the crankcase and the coil and see if that helps anything as well. Please let me know if you have any ideas

    Just been given a Jianshe mountain lion 400 quad bike.
    I was told that it just stopped one day and wouldn't start.
    after taking a look, It sparks sometimes and other times it won't.
    when it does spark it's a yellow spark, not a blue spark.
    My question is about parts, can I replace the coil and CDI with ones that look the same and fit?
    The CDI is a 6 pin so does a CDI with the same plug and dimensions work the same?

      Hey Ian!!!! If U have a CDI like I show in these videos, I would start by cutting the black wire with the white stripe in such a way that it can be reconnected.... I would tape up both ends so that they don't touch and short out to anything. That removes the engine off circuit... See what the spark looks like and if it starts... Sometimes an issue with the off circuit gives the symptions U discribe.... Let me know how it turns out.... Thanks for the info, Ur thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!!

      Hey Harvey!!!, I should have mentioned before, that was the first thing I did, still the same, sometimes I get a dull yellow spark, sometimes I don't. I just want to replace the coil and CDI but not sure what interchangeable.

      I did get another coil but it's doing exactly the same, no spark but I do get the occasional single spark.
      I sometimes get a single spark when I first earth out the sparkplug and also as soon as I stop winding over the engine, just a single spark. got me stumped

      Hey Randel, To check a pulse generator, one attaches an ohm meter between the blue wire with the white stripe and the green wire.... U should get a reading between 40 and 140 ohms.... What reading are U getting???? Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

    Hiya Harvey i've been following your videos for a while and i'm having some issues and need your advice. I recently replaced my HD gasket on my 125cc lifan motor and i adjusted my cam timing made sure my t lined up with the notch in the case and made sure that my valves were closed and the cam lined up properly. Brand new carb, clean gas, no exposed or damaged wires anywhere every time i tried to turn the bike over the ground wire connecting to the battery starts heating up and melting. What would be causing that issue?

      @@tstricklin4808 problem with that though is i wasn't having issues with the wire connecting to the negative terminal melting till after I adjusted the timing chain, before that the bike would fire up but kept bogging.

    You do great work. I have a Honda XL185s 1988, Kick start. with a 6volt system.My stator has 3 coils.I would like to make in to a 12 volt system by getting the sator re wind to 12volts. there is guy down in N.S.W. it would only cost $130.00 oz Dollars, but that was only if it had Two coils, mind has 3.If i was to do this to make in to 12Vlot, what CDI unit, What Rerulator-Rectifer, & Ht coil i would have used? as i do not know.There is to much to say on here, but i do need help with this.       Hey Trevor, Does Ur XL185 have points???? I don't have a XL185 to look at, but, I would look at a Honda ATC185 or 200, I think the engines are basically the same other then the recoil vs kick starter.... The ATCs use a 2 coil stator, one powers the CDI and the other powers the lights with from 5Volt to 20Volts AC depending on the RPMs... The "other" coil can be rectified and regulated to 12volts to charge a battery and run lights.... If Ur bike uses points, U may have to do a head, (for the CDI pulse generator), and wire harness change, (to add the CDI), + a custom harness for the 12Volt lighting and battery, kind of a big undertaking....       Regulator with built in Rectifier, It is a Electrex.RR67,1204msR2.The HT
      Ignition coil has a Blaster on the side of it drops vlots down from 6v
      to 3vlots.I have look at so many of your videos,and i do like them
      very.Anyway take a look at pic,s tell me what you think. I live in

      Hey Trevor!!! The good news is that the ignition system and the 6VDC system are separate and should function independently... If U can get the non CDI stator coils rewound, U can get 12Volts.... BTW, Y do U want to upgrade to 12VDC? Thanks for your questions, thoughts, watching, and commenting!!!

      Hi, I just lost every thing then try sending you a photo but di not turn out, try to reply to you in gmail hit reply and now i am in youtube ?.12volts is better than 6volt.I brought new speedo teco all run 12 volt lights,How do i send photos of my stator to you, The 3 coils one is a rechangeing coil other two are as you said lights & Ignition.If i got the 3 coils rewind to 12 volt what Reulator & Rectiifier do i used, What CDI do i used and what HT Ignition do i used then i have put all back so it all works.I am not very good at doing this nor can i spell to good.

No my XL 185s does not have points.I have brought a DC-Casoli CDI unit & a racing coil.It would please me if you could thak a look at your ACT185-200.Do you think i could buy a chinese stator & take the two-coils off the chinese stator plate & put the two chinese coils { lighting coil-Ignition coil}Would they fit? or would they be to small two short.I don't know but the way your ATV's look like they have a 12volt,& you can put 12volt cdi unit on to atv and quad's.I have look on eBay for ATV 12volt stator's that one could put a 12volt CDI unit & 12volt Regulator/Rectifer.I do have pic's of my sataor & the 3 coils,two coils do go to ground the other coil {Battery Charging coil} does not go to ground,It has a yellow wire & a yellow & white wire,The battery coil-lighting coil let's power go through them,But the Ignition coil does not let power out the other end but i an only using 12 battery to put power through it to light up a light bulb test light,i do not have a test meter.Please have a bit of a look around and see what you can fine and it thing's will fit.     Bike will not start with the plug lead on correctly. If I put a screw driver in the end of the plug lead and hold 1/4" of the plug the bike will start straight up. A strong blue spark jumps from screwdriver to spark plug. Touch the screw driver to the plug, bike will stall. Hold plug lead off plug so spark has to jump to plug it will start and run. Push the lead fully home it will stall. Changed plugs and ends on spark plug lead.

    Hi there I am stuck with 2 cylender china quad .. it idle bad even I have change almost ewerything but what is strange for me is if I unplug 1 cylender does not matter which then it idle good.... it was broken when I bougt it without no information other then vin number but nothing.
    I cange the cdi and coil from my kids bike than it started . do you have any clue what may be the proplem : engine number is notor number

    Hey Harvey great videos they have helped also just wanted to let you know I have a gy6 that I was fighting new wireing harness straight from eBay couldn't get spark until I pulled the kill wire from the cdi then it would start don't know if you have ran across this problem thought I would share

    can someone please help me i just put a new engin on my 150cc scooter everything is grounded well but it came with a new carb an a new cdi box an a new regulator the reg dont fit my connectors but everything else works even the new spark plug wire but now its blowing all my bulbs the blinkers an the horn an the brake lights work my head lights an gauge lights an blown an everytime i rev the bike up they blow so im not sure wat to do now can someone help me plz

      Hey Syxx, Generally speaking, there should be 2 or 3 wires coming off Ur stator and they should be going to Ur voltage regulator, they should be white or yellow or some combo of white wires and yellow wires.... They represent AC into the Voltage regulator.... Then, there should be a red wire coming out of the regulator, it goes to the +12Volt side of the battery.... There should also be a black wire, or green wire that should be going to ground, (the frame), and the negative, (-) side of the battery should also be grounded.... If U R running the lights off the battery, they should not get brighter or dimmer with engine speed, they should be receiving 12VDC at a steady state.... Given that the lights are burning up at high engine speed, I'm thinking that they are being powered by the stator, (AC power from the engine), and that without the regulator in the circuit, the Voltages are able to go pretty high.... U need to hook up the battery and regulator as I describe.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

      Hey Cory, Hook up the whole thing like U R ready to run it and do the resistive readings like I did on yesterdays video....When U R using the pit bike ignition there are only 3 things that U R using from the oem atv, they are ground, the stator for ac powered to the cdi, and the pulse generator...       Hey Roger, I would go with a DC CDI setup for Ur GY6, the blue should be coming from the pulse generator, the yellow and white wires do to the voltage regulator, and the green is ground for everything.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

      Hey Scott, Sounds like U have no power to Ur key switch or a bad key switch, U should look for a broken wire, blown fuse, bad connection, or a bad key or left hand handle bar switches, no power to the left hand handle bar switches would also cause this, (broken wire), I hope this helps, thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!!

      Harvey Spooner it had power when I was boosting it but it sounded like the starter slowly started dieing. started to crank slower and slower but nothing wrong with the starter how much power should I be getting to the key switch and left controls? and do you know which wire is supposed to supply both? cant find a electrical schematic anywhere thanks!

    Please help I have a 107cc Chinese quad I had everything working gas compression spark ECT I noticed the red wire in the key ignition came loose from where it's soldered it touched the black wire and sparked and I have no power now and when I turn it over via cables on starter I get no spark did I fry my coil or cdi please help

      Hey Randy, The key switch does 2 things, first, it makes the 12VDC available to the quad to do things like run the lights, and it allows U to engage the starter.... The second circuit of the key switch disengages the engine stop circuit. I would find the CDI, there should be a black wire with a white stripe going into it, I would disconnect or cut this wire such that it can be connected again, that should give U Ur spark back again unless U have a DC powered CDI which is much less common.... After U disconnect the black wire with the white stripe from the CDI let me know how U make out, U should be able to jump the starter and get it running.... U can use the choke or reattach the wire to shut down the engine.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!!

      Harvey Spooner it's a roketa rtu 110l it's says the engine family is 6csmxo.20atv but I can't find anything it's different than the roketas that come up online but is there anyway I can just get an aftermarket ac external cdi for it because I wanted to delete the spaghetti mess wiring harness anyway
