How to differentiate bell's palsy from stroke?

  • Why Patient with stroke can raise his eyebrows and Patient with Bell's Palsy can't? The answer to this question in today's episode.
    Facial muscles receive nerve impulses from different parts of our brain. Thanks to the knowledge of anatomy, we can easily distinguish Bell's palsy from a stroke. Patients with a central lesion, such as a stroke, are able to raise their eyebrows (wrinkle their foreheads), while Patients with Bell's palsy are unable to do so. In the video I explain why this is happening.
