I am in final year of med school and this is the first time I’ve been able to understand the difference between Bell’s Palsy and Stroke. Your mother must be really proud of you ! ❤️
@TheNotedAnatomist Hell is real, demons are real, the devil is real, God loves you, and does not want you to end up in hell. Give Jesus a chance, he payed for your sins on the cross, so you don't have to. Your soul and salvation is worth infinitely more than you can ever imagine. Do not carelessly, ignorantly or foolishly throw it away. Turn to Jesus and he will save you and those who you know, from the fires and torments of hell Look into God's true word (The Holy Bible) as it is a love letter from God to you, so you can be saved (it will be the most important thing you ever read/look into) For those who do not believe or unfortunately believe in false religions and doctrines, the evidence/proof you seek, is only a click or search away
The last part was just so, sorry for the lack of vocabulary, touching. As a cardiothoracic surgery resident and a family member of coronary artery disease patient myself, I know it is so hard to teach students and patients the very disease that is affecting one of your own. Thank you again for making anatomy so clear, concise and interesting to learn.
Rest in Peace Mrs. Morton. What a wonderful, intelligent, empathetic son you have raised. I am so thankful for your videos, and the amount of information I learn from them. God bless.
Going into the lecture I felt like "okay i'll just memorize this" but that tidbit at the end makes me feel like "i have to understand and never forget this." Thank you Dr. Morton.
Future Neurologist here. Thank you for making me better. I will try to help as much as possible to patients. May your mom rest in peace. I also lost my mom to car accident when I was a teenager.
I used to love all your lectures, and your channel is my go-to videos .. but this one? It’s really touchable and May god bless your mum as she raised such a great teacher like you
Dr. Morton, thank you so much for taking the time and energy to make these videos! Our neuro professor is great, but I feel like your ability to animate your lectures and use dynamic cross-sections really brings the material to life. Thank you also for sharing about your mother's experience. As a future PT, it's motivating to hear about the personal and clinical aspects of neurology, and how we can make a difference :)
Your mother looks like an amazing woman. I found your video searching for information about how to diagnose Bells Palsy for my mother Candy, and like your situation I will do anything to help her! One kidney, 3 fake vaccine doses, cancer surgery on her forehead preformed in a doctors "office" (no surgical setting), and a huge button size tumor that was growing on her upper shoulder? I love her so much - but the "specialists" never consider the Co factors? Thank you for sharing, I'm trying not to cry; I bet your mother is very proud of you. Thanks again, I appreciate your effort! Great presentation also! You have a lovely voice!
After comfortably listening to the kind explanation, I burst into tears at the end. She must have been a very good mother. Blessings to all of your family.
a very under rated channel.. this is probably the first time ,in my countless attempts,i have been able to understand it logically.. Indeed His mother raised a super son, May she rest in Peace❤
I am a 2nd year medical student. Before watch these, I couldn't get most of the things in neuroanatomy and was suffering from it. Specially , your "Shrin.." doesn't allow me to fall asleep while listening😅. Love that creativity and your enthusiastic teaching . so grateful to you and your loving mom❤
Thank you for sharing the story of your mom. It took all this abstract stuff and made it personal and real. It is stories like your mom’s that motivate me to do my best. ❤ we are taking care of everyones most precious possessions
Thank you so much for this. I understand Stroke and Bells Palsy so much better after watching your video. Also very touching. R.I.P to your amazing Mother! ❤ 🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing the story of your mother Dr. Morton, sorry for your loss. I don't personally know you, but I reckon with great assurance she is very proud of you as a human-being, and mentor/professor. As a I student, I am truly grateful for these lectures, please continue to positively impact our learning experience, and playing that guitar! Best, -FJLF
I was going through this playlist quick as I have an exam in a month, but i just couldn’t leave this video without appreciating your work. Thank you Doctor for your work and for making this publicly accessible, and thank you for putting life into such a mundane subject. Your mother must be so proud of you. I hope to be half the teacher you are one day.
Wonderful delivery and graphics on a rather busy dynamic. Your intelligence is matched only by your sensitivity and gracious attitude. I am currently working my way through Bells Palsy and sure needed the physiology to comprehend the depth of involvement that Lymes disease created. Your mother did a great job and you have rewarded her well! Godspeed
You're helping students for free, this video helped me build a concrete concept. I pray that your mum rest in peace, you're making her proud and she's raised a wonderful person, lastly I'm really sorry for your loss, know that she's looking over you and smiling.

Thanks for all your help, Dr. Morton. You are a passionate teacher! My mother also suffered a massive stroke when I was 19 years old and I am eternally grateful for the amazing healthcare team she had. Your mother must be forever proud of the man that she raised.
I struggled to visualize this so much until I stopped and wondered "does dr morton have a video on this?" THANK YOU. Every chance I get I tell others about this great resource.
Thank you so much for this explanation. I had complete facial paralysis of the left side 8 years ago. Now I understand why the neurologist - who ran all the appropriate tests - was so reassuring when we feared a stroke. A teacher myself, I must say you are a fantastic teacher. This English major even got the quiz at the end correct! Thanks again.
Thank you so much. I am sorry for what you have endured with strokes. I’ve had two strokes (36 and 41 years old) and have had the hardest time getting treatment past “triaging”. Once I was able to walk again, I was discharged and had to advocate for myself.

I am very grateful for people who share their knowledge on UA-cam with us, I want to do the same when I become an "expert" in some field... I love your videos and how you teach. Thank you so much for the video and the very touching story of your Mum. God bless her soul and you're probably helping save so many more lives by educating medical students and doctors to better serve their patients.
When i came to this video to recall material, i wasn't expecting to end it being so moved. It was really brave of you to tell your Mom's story. I feel like it will help your viewers understand, how important this knowledge is, that were not only learning to pass exams, were learning to save people. I'm glad your Mom received proper help, it makes me inspired to became a person who could help people like her as well.
Coming from a student Physiotherapist studying for boards..... sometimes the thought strikes me that I'm not very useful to patients, especially compared to the other medical professionals I work alongside. Your comment at the end helped me see the bigger picture, thank you for that Dr. Morton
Outstanding presentation, and exactly what I needed to know. Bell's Palsy struck me 7 days ago on my right side. Medication and treatment are underway, but your excellent presentation has added to my comfort. My symptoms appear to be minor compared to others I have seen, so I am hopeful for a complete recovery. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and personal experience with us all.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. That broke my heart, but also made it so full of joy. I also lost my mother, and when you say you gain a whole new appreciation for the people who were there to make a difference, it truly is an understatement. So beautiful you shared that. It really brought the human aspect into medicine, which isn't something you can just learn in school. It's so easily forgotten. 💛
Thank you for sharing your story at the end, this is one of the most touching and personal lectures I've heard in a while. And really really love all your explanations - concise coherent jargon-free, thank you! :)
Caro Dottor Morton, hai detto "ti voglio bene" a tua madre, "Le vuoi bene ancora". Sarà così orgogliosa del tuo sguardo dal cielo. It's clear to us all you still love your mom and she will be so proud of you looking down from heaven. As a patient just diagnosed with Bell's Palsy 2 days ago in the emergency department at my local hospital in NZ, I can confirm 100% the key to the diagnosis is whether a patient can frown their forehead on the side of the paralysis as confirmed by the emergency physician. If not it's Bell's Palsy, if so it's likely stroke. I cant say Id ever be pleased to hearing of being diagnosed with temporary facial paralysis. which is a temporary set back compared with a life limiting condition, but I feel more so now than ever for all stroke patients including your mom. God bless you.
Thank you so much for sharing something that was so personal to you. I’m studying for my residency match but going through the same topic that affected me so deeply because of which I lost my dad. I appreciate your efforts in explaining things your own unique way, lots of love to your mum. Your online student from Pakistan ❤️

Dr. Morton, thank you so much for the amazing lecture. Everything was summed up so well and it was very easy to understand. I would also like to say my condolences (even though I know this is quite late) for the passing of your mother. It was evident from your photos that you both shared so many good memories together.
I feel compelled to say a few things. First, my wife and I have been physicians for over 30 years and no one has ever explained this like you have. So clear and concise. So I thank you for thank you for that. But I must also say that we were deeply touched by your tribute to your Mother. Take solace in knowing that certainly she knew that she raised a man who has helped improve the lives, and knowledge, of others. And that is one of the most valuable gifts any of us can give, or receive. Spero che sua Mama riposare in pace.

I hate this topic during med school but you made it so clear and concise especially with your diagrams. And I’m sorry about your mom. Thank you so much, doctor.
My sincere thanks for your lectures, which are all clear, concise and interesting. I felt your description of your mother's condition and appreciated how that shapes your lectures. Hats off to the medical professionals who play a role in recovery and in the end stages of life. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for excellent explanations & diagrams. I’m sorry for your loss. The kindness your voice exudes is truly a rare gift to your patients and their advocates! I am getting a clearer understanding of a traumatic brain injury my adult child incurred after birth. It’s medically complicated by nerve damage as well as diffuse encephalopathy from oxygen deprivation. The body is an incredible, repairable miracle! Stay well.👍
Thank you for making this amazing video, it has clarified so many confusing areas, your students are very lucky to have such a great teacher and thank you for sharing that with us. I'm sorry to hear about your mum, may she rest in peace; personal experiences do make us more empathetic in the way we approach life.
I am a doctor and have to revise anatomy for my Plab exams, I love how you explain such topics. Thanks for sharing your mother story, it reminded me of my mother who died of early Alzhiemers, I always feel Alzhiemer personal since then when I have to deal with similar cases. Your mother is really proud of you. Thank you again.
Dr. Morton, your videos are awesome. loving neurology for the first time after watching them. I actually searched to see if there are any related textbooks of yours. Your mom brought a great teacher into the world. May God bless her soul
Thank you for sharing about your mom's story, she must be really proud of you :) And thank you for making this topic easily to understand :) You're really a great teacher!

That tribute was very touching; thank you for everything that you do
Thank-you
I think you did very cool explanation!!!!! Thank you for it.. I hope she rest in peace ....
Stay well.👍
This gave me a perspective on this topic. Thankyou for sharing this. God bless your mother, Gabriella Morton💫

I will pray for your mother because she was a great mother for the great teacher, in our Muslim tradition we read (Al-Humdo) to soul of one we lost 🖤.
