Seriously though if you have one of those dusting mops with a washable sleeve get a spray bottle of diluted cleaner and wash the ceiling that way. Your house will smell great and it will be clean.
I wash the walls, but I've never bothered with a ceiling besides dusting or an incident. I guess as long as its not textured. This reminds me of the infamous soda can "accident" (experiment).
