The roof rail was damaged on this Ford F-150 by someone prying against the edge of the rail which caused several sharp dents. There were about 15 dents that needed glue pulling to repair.
The roof rail on most modern vehicles does not have access to the back of the panel for regular PDR tools. This is why the only option to remove the dents is using the glue pulling method. The repair process involved using special PDR glue and PDR Tabs to pull up the dents. The special hammers and knockdowns are used to blend the metal back down.
Glue pulling dents is not just a “one pull shot” where just by gluing a tab to the car and pulling it will result in a completed finished flat repair. The Glue pulling process requires multiple pulls and knocking down and blending to flatten out the metal.
With the dents on this truck roof rail being sharp and on the edge of the panel required multiple attempts to pull out the dents. This type of repair can take several hours to do even for a professionally experienced PDR tech. But you will see that is still can provide excellent results.

Damn I need to hire you! I have a couple of those on my rail. Guy came out, tried to get em and left.
If you used a slide hammer would you have had a better pull?
Would this technique work if my hood is vinyl wrapped ? I cant get to certain areas with the long tools because of the extra braces under the hood
+BrianPham TV No. Glue pulling will pull the wrap and damage it. Some techs may have some methods to use glue, but only if the dents are very small and shallow.
A full vinyl wrap and even a big shield wrap can be difficult since “seeing” the dents are difficult and any knockdown work can also cause some slight damage.
Most experienced techs should not have a problem acccessing dents in a hood, even those under a brace.

What are you knocking down the high spots from overpulling the metal?
I have several different knock down tools I use. Some I use are from Dent Craft Tools. I then also will use interchangeable tips from Edgy Tools.
I also used a blending hammer for this repair.

How many hours did that take?
I’m not sure on the time. I had the truck for the day. I also repaired a crease in the box. Just for the dents in the rail could have been 2-3 hours.
Ppl gotta know this is a usual issue or risk, when applying anything to paint. As while waxing. Rails are very fragile.
How much did you charge this customer?
I did this repair earlier this year so I don’t remember the exact price for this paintless dent repair.
I also removed a crease dent in the box of this truck. Which can be seen in the previous video.
I would guess the cost was around $500-$750 for both panels.

I'm thinking you have to be super careful using the glue puller with the trigger. Could you not create new dents in the pillar using that?
Yes. The pressure from the feet of the tool can cause dents. Ive had it happen before. Usually when the surrounding metal is soft. The rail on this truck is very stiff. So I didn’t have a problem with it.
