I have a question for you I have an old knife from my grandfather it's an automatic that goes out on front, on blade there's a gravure of a tank and says PANZER MADE IN GERMANY.. Its very hard to push the switch that it leaves mark on your thumb and it hurts 😁 but very strong spring it jumps out powerful.. I can't find any info about it on the Internet, do you maybe know what it is? Its all metal handle with hard plastic like black rubber in the middle of the handle on both sides so it won't slip..
I have 9 Spydercos and 12 Benchmades. I love the flickability of both brands. Spydercos as a whole are heavier but both serve their purpose. Right now, I am on Spyderco kick after getting the Benchmades I need. All of my knives arrived with differing stages of stiffness, I just adjusted them and drove on.
You pI'll leave this one as is.picked a good one. I have the same one. I also have the first BHQ Shaman in Jade G10 and M4. I put green terotuff scales on it and had the blade reground to a thin slicey 9thou bte thickness and a nub delete. I have a feeling they will do a run with a coated blade. They frequently do that. They know they'll sell. Mine was a little stiff as well, but a very slight pivot adjustment and it's fine. Once it breaks in it will loosen up.
Yeah, I expect a DLC Shaman sprint run to be released within the next 6-8 months. I’m hoping for Rex-45, K390, or even Maxamet, (not likely, but OH baby, that’d be sweet).
I have the same knife. I didn't open it up, but I put in a couple drops of nano oil on the pivot and the action is perfect. Pivot screw can be loosened but it's tight for a reason; if I loosen it at all I get some blade play. In fact, there's a tiny bit of side to side play even tightened down. Not ideal, but not a big deal either. Fun fact: if you get the action down, this knife is a decent front flipper. If you have calloused thumbs. :)
I found a solid balance on the pivot and have no blade play phewww. yes nano oil helped and its starting to break in. it was just a little over tightened out of the box. haha I tried front flipping mine no go :( lmao
Congrats on getting your first real Spyderco :). I have a Tenacious with G10 handles, sold a Manix 2 LW. They are fun, though I am only able to Spydie flick with my thumb :).
M4 is a tier above S30V, and for the cost of a normal Shaman and good micarta scales you'd be paying a very similar price to these if not potentially more. Sprints also gain value over time if you resell it in the event you don't like it.
Just ordered my first Spyderco! Mantix XL.
Watching the mail box!!!!
You have a new subscriber buddy!
Awesome! Let me know how you like it
@@KnifeStandards Thanks buddy! It came today but I’m 300 miles from home working.
Have to wait till Friday night !😬
This is exactly what my first Spyderco is gonna be also 😁
awesome ludi

awesome reggie
Add a drop or two of oil on the washers in the pivot. Mine didn't want to drop when I first got it. That fixed the problem.
yess
I grabbed this particular BHQ exclusive Shaman too. It’s my only Spyderco, and I love it!
epic! I like your style!!
shaman is one of their best models ! ;)
yes agreed!

@@KnifeStandards, have a Cutleryshoppe exclusive Shaman in CTS-XHP steel and the other 3 are in the regular S30V steel. Awesome knives! 👍
@@dn2610 epic!!
dont loosen the pivot... drop of oil will do it
its locktite yep
open 100 times and it will be smooth af
thanks krispy! yes a tiny bit looser and oil did the trick, no play and smooth now!

thank you!! and right on dave!! definitely fun
I don't understand the logic of replacing the micarta scales....why not just purchase a G-10 model and upgrade it?
blade steel preference

Mine came perfect! I think I just got really lucky
lucky man!
Shaman is good if you have a farm.
