I got the uncoated version and it just gets prettier everyday. I use it for cooking several times a week. The handle is always changing color and feel. It grows over time with you.
Getting a shaman with blade centering problems or gritty action is easily fixable. Take out pivot screws, put a drop of nano oil on the washers and put the screws back in. Tighten each side a little bit til they’re both where they need to be. Problem solved. Unfortunately there’s a very narrow window allowing you to have drop free action, centered blade and no blade play all simultaneously, but it is possible. And you’ll end up with an amazing knife.
I know its kinda weird, but the Shaman is my Grail knife...I fell in love with it the second I 1st seen it about 5ish years ago😍 But I've never been able to get one cause they're NEVER in stock when funds are a'plenty & pop up for sale when I'm scraping by😵...frustrating is an legit understatement!! Thanks for showing one of my sweethearts off! 💪😎👍
I have the previous Blade HQ exclusive M4/green micarta with the satin blade. This is a great knife and well suited for heavy use. I added a Lynch NW deep carry clip which really puts it deep in your pocket (I don't like my knives showing). I really like the CME from OCD-4-EDC; I may have to make another mod. Great review - thanks for doing what you do!
Mine came in today. My first Shaman. Good God, the compression lock on it with that blade chin sticking out is ridiculous. Can't drop shut like on my PM2s.
I think I’m in love. I don’t even like my PM2’s no more. It’s so good I bought one more, the knifeworks exclusive with the gorgeous desert green G10 with 204p steel in satin.
Hey man, found this video helpful, thank you. I drive semi in the food industry and I have a PM2 s30v with Digi-Cam - I do a lot of cutting - plastic, waxed cardboard, cardboard, vinyl etc… love my pm2 but I’m looking for a bit of a heavy use upgrade. My pm2 tip has been beat down over dropping and use. Would you recommend this shaman or the base, im also looking at an AD20.5 possibly with TI…thank you.
The thing with M4 is it is not super corrosion resistant so I recommend the coated blade (like this) to prevent staining or possible rust. The shaman has a very robust blade that should help you with any drops but honestly that could break the tip on anything lol. A couple other recommendations I would say to look at: Spyderco Manix 2, Sig k320 by Hogue have beefier tips than the PM2, or, and a fantastic value for money the Hogue Doug Ritter.
Still recommend this knife ? I’m looking at a shaman m4 blade blade hq or a para 2 sv30 . I know price different but I don’t think spending the extra if it’s worth it
I think it does. It makes it easier to operate, cannot be felt when closed, you can feel it a tiny when open but it isn’t uncomfortable nor does it disengage they lock which was my main concern. Easy to remove, little work to clean and can be reinstalled. (I installed a little to far rear on the first attempt and needed to reposition). I like it so much I’m about to order for my other shaman, Yojimbo 2, and Sage 5! 👍
I have the sprint run Shaman from a few years ago with the CF scales and S90v blade, but want to get a Micarta one instead b/c I think the CF is a little slick and I like some texture. I’d like to sell or trade my Shaman but don’t know where to go. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it, thank you. Great video btw.
RC blade works makes micarta scales for the Shaman. www.rcbladeworks.com/ I would grab a set of their scales and install them on your S90V blade because it’s be less hassle and that’s a good steel. If you don’t want to do that, #knifesales on Instagram is about to launch a website with very simple means of selling. Hope that helped. GL brother.
Thank you, that would be a great idea if I can find some good contoured Micarta scales. I appreciate the links.I just checked out Sharp Dressed Knives too and they have some Dark Matter CF scales, fat carbon scales, and some different Micarta scales. There is a lot of nice aftermarket scales to choose from.

One of the very cool aspects with Micarta material. 🙌
Blade hq does layaway on knives over 200$ it used to be any knife over 400$ so not inconsistent just doesn’t specify the dollar amount.
👍
I really enjoyed the Shaman when I had it. The new owner cherishes it as well. Just a great overall design.
That’s awesome to hear man, cool you paid it forward 👍

Man the Shaman is one of my grails. I don’t factory price to call a knife a grail. It is what speaks to me.
Just won one off of auction on ebay! Where can i get some cool scales for mod???
Rips garage grass tech, fire side scales, RC blade works all should be great places to get you started. 👍
Great overview! And very timely. I just put this on layaway late last night.
That’s awesome. Congrats 🎉
I like the shaman better than my sabenza. 🤷🏻♂️
Shaman is a solid knife and why I have one myself.

I carry that one a lot, agreed what a great knife 👍

Use the forward most portion of the lock when you close it, it should miss or CME from OCD4EDC. He now offers one in the matching micarta I think.
They break in nicely with time.

@@edsaban572 they are why I don’t own mine anymore too 😂
Still in stock
Are they really? So hard to believe but still love both these M4 releases. 👍
@@jd4edc buying one here in a second.

I still prefer the Shaman over the PM2. It’s built for toughness imo. I don’t worry about the tip. 👍
I’m looking to get some fat carbon scales for my shaman, where did you get them from if you don’t mind my asking?
Spencer on Instagram goes by Karbadize, Rips Garage Gear and I think DLT trading has some from a brand but I forget the name
I was going to buy one, but the reviews made me change my mind.
I love both of mine brother. I guess you could always return it if you get a lemon.
I just bought one JD
Congrats brother 🙌
Does the CME make a big difference when you unlock the knife I'm thinking of getting one

Cool I think I'm going to pick 1 up thanks for the reply
