    Also, if the Boom Radio is installed, do I need the factory amp boom 1 bypass system plug?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  2 роки тому

      The system is designed to work with the standard 4.3, the 6.5GT and the GTS Boom Audio radios. The BYPASS plugs are when BOOM AUDIO amplifier(s) were installed from the factory. Page #2 of the Amp Tuning Guide explains the jumpers: rockfordfosgate.com/rnt/rnw/docs/1355/harleyamptuning_2014_rfk-hd14.pdf

    Can you have the system flashed after a RF Stage 2 install (given that a boom radio is already installed)?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  2 роки тому

      Yes, absolutely. You have 2 options:
      1) H-D dealership can use their DigitalTech device to flash a “2-Speaker / 1-amp Upper Fairing” setting. This is the flattest response possible.
      2) Authorized Rockford Fosgate Motorcycle Audio Dealer use the TechnoResearch flasher to set the “Rockford Fosgate 2014+ All Bikes” setting.

    Can you do a Road glide Special with lower speakers and saddle bag speakers

      You may want to look at our HD14U-STAGE3. It's marketed for an Ultra, but you'll use the 2nd pair of TMS65 speakers & harnesses for your lowers instead of the TourPak. You'll also want to look into extensions for the lowers. Links below:

      You don’t have to remove that lower tray
      Use a 1/4” drive flex head socket wrench and a snap on 7/16 shallow socket. The snap on shallow is the perfect depth for the bolts on the bottom of the pods

    I have the Sony XAV-AX7000 installed on my 2014 Street Glide. I'm preparing to install your kit. How do I connect the amp to the stereo? Is that what the DSR1 cable is for?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  4 роки тому

      The HD14RGSG-STAGE2 comes with a T-harness for connection to factory 6.5, 6.5 GT, and GTS Harley-Davidson radios. You will not use this, but will need to wire your own RCAs from the radio to the TM400X4ad amplifier and your own connections from the amplifier output to the speakers. The only thing you'll be able to use from the kit is the power harness. Once installed, you'll need to use the Amp Tuning Guide for everything except the INPUT LEVELS. To set those, you'll need to use the CLEAN setup. You can download the Amp Tuning Guide here: rftech.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1355

    Any benefit to putting sound deadening material in the speaker pods behind the speaker itself ?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  2 роки тому +1

      It changes the acoustical quality of the audio, damping the sound. This will be most noticeable parked, at low listening levels. However, on the road at higher volumes, you likely will not notice any difference.

    Is the amp in the saddle bags for the new ones?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 роки тому

      Rockford Fosgate has developed 2 types of systems that utilize a saddlebag amplifier:
      1) The AFTERMARKET audio systems like the one you see above are typically sold and installed by independent motorcycle audio dealers. In this family, we offer a 10" Subwoofer Add-On Kit that utilizes an M5-800X4 amplifier in the saddlebag. We also offer a Road King kit that utilizes an amplifier in the saddlebag: You can find out more on those kits here:

      2) The OEM system typically sold and installed by your local Harley-Davidson dealer are called "Harley-Davidson Audio Powered by Rockford Fosgate". You can find out more info with the videos listed below:

    if i use a dsr1 in conjunction with this kit d o i still need to have the stereo flashed?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  4 роки тому

      Yes, Rockford Fosgate recommends flashing the radio since it's easier to re-equalize the system using a flatter response than using the OEM that has massive amounts of boost.

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  2 роки тому

      Yes, the HD14RGSG-STAGE2 audio kit is designed for 2014 and newer FLHX and FLHXS models with the 6.5GT or GTS source units. You can find more information here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/hd14rgsg-stage2/

    Had this done last year to my 14 Street Glide and now the left side speaker is out and the right side is cutting in and out. Not even a year later!

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 роки тому

      Over 90% of problems we see regarding burned speakers is due to one of these two issues:
      1) Turning the source unit beyond the "clipping point". On 2014+ Street Glides with GT or GTS radios, this is 3 bars from MAX. If the volume is used in the top 3 bar range, you're almost guaranteed to blow a speaker.
      2) Improper amplifier tuning. Download our Amp Tuning Guide to verify the amplifier is setup to our recommendations: rftech.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1355/
      Since this is within the 1 year warranty, you can submit for a Warranty Replacement here: rockfordfosgate.com/contact-us/41/
