Things could have gone diffrently had it gone diffrently. (Obviously) But it didnt. They were both clouded by the past. Social norms, and the trickery of the admins. To see it in any other way.

Can we take a second to appreciate the character shapes? Elphaba is drawn with more ridged and straight lines, while Galinda is more circles and flow. This kinda reflects back in their character, and also it just makes them look different and interesting in the same frame. Very good!!

Came here after I saw the new wicked and its revamped scene- I swear I thought im the only one that thinks somethings going on between them and the lyrics.. someone also said in the comments on the revamped What Is This Feeling scene, that in the ORGINAL Wicked Book, Glinda and Elphaba mutually liked each other romantically; it made me even more surprised!
When I watched the movie (I haven't watched the actual musical yet) and this song started, I genuinely thought they just were having a love song and I just thought, "wow, I didn't know Wicked was such an open queer love story!!" And then was just like, "oh nevermind," when the loathing started.
