That’s a surprising turn Dara! I’ve been on a journey with my diet as well, haven’t eaten meat though. For me it’s been evident that high raw vegan is what’s best for my body. So that’s what I’m returning to again and my body and mind is so grateful. It’s been a tough ride with both my parents passing way too early and I kinda lost myself in the process. Coming back now to my truth, hopefully as an upgraded version of myself.

I went carnivore about 20 years ago and also lost tons of weight and energy etc like you after a while i could only eat like 1/2 a sausage and was full. My body just couldnt look at meat in the end.
Then i went plant raw vegan about 10 years ago.
I have 7 cats and buy them ham etc and started trying a little..
BUT the other day a pig farm vid popped up. I avoid all that stuff but I felt compelled to watch. Honestly not even my cats are getting pork now. Those darling sweet innocent babies, the baby pihlets being punched in face by workers, thrown in the air across the workroom just landing against walls and metal floors beyond terrified...they are living a horror movie their whole lives. The mum pigs stuck on their sides for for 3 months in a cage, the little piglets trying to get love from the mum just standing on metal...nope, not eating that energy.....

I was whole foods, plant-based for 7 1/2 years. I bought all the books by all the doctors (Barnard, Fuhrman, McDougall, Esselstyn, etc.). I watched Chef AJ fervently and all the plant-based chefs. I took the appropriate supplements. BUT, my health was deteriorating. My hair was falling out. My fingernails were weak, peeling, and cracking. Hangnails. Dry skin. Dry eye.Brain Fog. Arthritis. Painful arches. I mean, you name it, I had it. I did the research; learned about low car, keto, paleo, carnivore. I watched Mikalia Peterson. I watched all carnivore doctors. So, I made the switch. First day. Brain fog gone. No cravings at all for anything sweet (not even sweet and luscious fruits (banana, mango, papaya, kiwi, etc.). All pain - gone. My body was craving the nutrients in animal foods (especially the ruminant animals). So, best of luck to you (and me).

This is shocking to hear from you but I totally get it. I had to start eating meat after being plant based for 20 years because I tried and tried to lose weight and the stricter I got the worse I looked and felt. My doctor couldn’t even understand why I couldn’t lose weight on my diet. I realized that plant based doesn’t give you the right proteins needed for my body. It was really hard to start eating meat and my digestion freaked out but I pushed through. I lost weight. I was able to get off blood pressure meds. I feel better. I feel more whole and mentally clearer. I still have the habit to automatically choose the plant based meals and have to remind myself to eat meat and get the protein in needed. But I’m definitely doing so much better with this change.

Would not be able to do it permanently because it doesn't align with my inner compass personally. But I feel bad enough that I'm kinda at the point that I'm willing to try anything. I was a vegan for awhile and stopped because I have type O blood, I need meat, I crave it right before "that time of the month" like clockwork. The iron, etc. I say you dont have to go all in on one diet, just balance great protein meat with good healthy veggies. That's the optimum for the human body. You look great. A lot of vegans experience rapid aging because they are missing the key nutrients in their skin from meat like collagen. You look very healthy!

She wasn’t raw vegan. Started consuming cooked, rice, and lots of soy (rice and soy is not good for your health and especially not good for you if you have or have had thyroid or adrenal gland issues as she has had). Dara, unfortunately had her eyes/mind covered over by the influence of a man near her. Love all these raw vegans or vegans who go on and on giving credit to plant based (rightfully so as it’s our species diet being primates) for years for healing them, then slip up to a more unhealthy level of plant based, don’t feel as great then jump onto eating dead fathers/mothers/children and say they “feel better” off of death. It’s like watching another level of indoctrination but even crazier because they claim for so long raw or vegan is what healed them in the first place.

The raw vegans and carnivores are both on the right track. It's the processed foods that are harming people and this includes factory farmed animals and dairy. Oxalates are a real concern for sure. So many foods contain them. I don't really eat them much except the Cacao. It's my special treat so that will be the next thing for me to reduce. I am mostly raw vegan but i've studied the carnivore diet exstensively. It all makes sense to me. I'm not ready to eat farm animals again at this point but I may try fish in the future. Have you ever looked at Dr. Douglas Graham's book THE 80/10/10 DIET ? The book is more of a thorough research of people and cultures and how what they eat impacts their life spans. It turns out the longest lived people eat a species appropriate diet based on what the human digestive tract is designed to break down and utilize the easiest and most efficiently -which is mostly fruit. Humans are frugivores like Gorillas. Our GI tracts are like theirs and we have teeth like theirs and hands to pick fruit of trees and bushes like they do - and God created all mammals to be able to easily find food appropriate for their species and consume it in its natural state without any sort of tools or weapons or processing... like flavoring it with seasonings or cooking to make it palatable. The Hunzas of Pakistan, Vilcabambans in Ecuador and The Abkhasians in Russia who live well into their hundreds and sometimes 200s eat little if any animal products and eat high carb, low protein and low fat foods or roughly 80 percent carbs from raw fresh fruit and fruit-like vegetables with seeds and tender leafy greens like lettuce, 10 percent fat and 10 percent protein. The Eskimos who eat a high protein carnivore diet have the shortest life expectancy. Additionally all food contains protein so there is no need to add it.
Another thing you probably aren't aware of is human breast milk contains less than 6 percent protein is what newborn lives on its first of life and in so doing, triples in size! The belief that people "need" a certain amount of protein comes from disinformation and advertising from the meat, dairy and egg grower industries. Look up "the dangers of too much protein". It ruins your kidneys and subsequently your health for starters. You may have noticed that it slows down your digestion, causes body odor and constipation and makes your eliminations stink.

Hey, no shame in that more power to you. I’ve been on that same journey since I was 18 years old going in and out of vegan and raw vegan and modified. carnivore as I include fruits, veggies when my body desires them and I really just want my body. The body doesn’t lie, we though can lie to ourselves, our brain doesn’t always sync with what the body desire and needs. So I allow it to tell me what it needs, because at the end of the day something even a movement of sorts may look good on paper, however with our bio individuality, it may not work for someone in the best way possible, ie does not always work for everyone or long-term. There’s a season for everything, I love falling back on vegan and vegan when I want to do cleanups in my body and rest and that could last anywhere from three months to several years. I just really stay tuned with my body and my body cries out for something into my dietary needs so good for you, that’s called listening to your body and your body is responding and in great way.
