    Looks like Tesla sold a bunch of Model X Plaid in my area.
    They went from ~10 in inventory to 1 in the span of 2 days after the price cuts. As you noted, it’s a no-brainer upgrade if you’re choosing the 6-seat configuration anyway. That’s the one model that I wouldn’t count on end-of-quarter discounting, since they are unlikely to re-stock before that time.

      Me too. Thought about the Model X but those doors are just too problematic especially with the low ceiling parking garage at my condo. Even at $79,900 I couldn't quite justify it without say 3 years of free supercharging.

    When doing the referral thing, do make sure to check out existing inventory, as that's what I did and snagged the base Y for $3k off the new car price and still got one with 32 miles on it. New enough! Sad thing is, Tesla discontinued the base Y to use the batteries for the Cybertruck 😞 Now you're left with the $2750 price hike for the "LR" which only gives a paltry extra 51 miles of range... PFFFT...

    One big point to consider when shopping Tesla vehicles. The Y and X have flush rear bumper and hatch’s. The 3 and S have protruding rear bumpers. So this means if you tap anything or get rear ended in a Y or X you will have to either repair the hatch or replace it. Whereas the 3 and S you have many more inches of protection from the bumper, so the likelihood of hatch/trunk lid damage is significantly lower.

      I personally don’t view this at all as a consideration when selecting a vehicle

    Hey Branden! Thanks for the helpful videos! Based on your recent Model Y videos I decided to pull the trigger (saved 10% off MSRP, $51,740 - $5,170 = $46,570, inventory in transit) on a new Model Y AWD White on White with 20" Induction Wheels instead of waiting for the new refreshed Model Y's next year sometime. Eventually will probably get a refreshed Model Y Performance White exterior with Black interior. For now, the AWD is good enough. I also used your referral link yesterday. Will pick up the new Tesla on Saturday as it is still in transit. Austin build, 4680, giga casting HW4. The price was just too good to pass up!

    Brendan..the 2023 model 3 rwd lfp hit 5300 miles and lifetime energy consumption is 214wh/mile. About 30% of that is interstate 75-80. I did notice we had some almost 100F temps a few weeks back and took a roadtrip and consumption was 252wh/mile on that one (over 100 miles). I will be interested to see what happens when the cold comes--its going to go up for sure but not sure how much-we hit -20F here some years so true cold. Already got winter tires in the garage ready to go.

    Hey Brandon, very good summary of the cars today, thanks. On the fog lights, doesn't the refreshed Model 3 have those fog lights integrated into the headlight assembly? Kyle Conner indicated they are a strip at the bottom of the assembly instead of being a separate unit. The refreshed 3 seems to be mostly about cost savings in the manufacturing line but includes some great new features and the exterior aerodynamic and style improvements.

    Great Videos and Honest Reviews. I will be ordering a Model Y Performance pretty soon and will be using you as a Referral. I am trying to hold off because of the 7500 Tax Credit. I never have a Tax Liability and usually get a Refund. So I am thinking of ordering the Vehicle for Pick up at the first of the year in order to take the 7500 off the price directly. Any thoughts about the Model 2023 Model Y and the 2024 Model? Is it worth ordering a 2024 over getting a 2023 closeout and possibly saving some money? Thanks for any advice. I do value your opinion.

    • @brandenflasch
      @brandenflasch  9 місяців тому +3

      Please make sure you are not equating getting a tax refund with not having tax liability - if you’re getting a refund, there’s a good chance you’re simply paying in more than your tax liability via payroll withholding (Bearded Tesla Guy has good videos on this). 2023 vs 2024 is totally unknown at this point and Tesla doesn’t make changes based on model years in the traditional sense
