What will it take to actually get Disney to remember this Amazing Classic?
Also, side note: This video was voted for by my Patrons, forgot to mention that in the video.
Bro in your last video me and my brother literally said “oh if only Rockotar would make an analysis on The Great Mouse Detective” and lo and behold YOU MADE THE VIDEO! I grew up watching this movie at my grammas house over and over again, quoting Basil of Baker Street every chance I got. Thank you for the hard work put into making these videos❤️✨👏

Also my mom and I both got a huge chuckle when we realized Ratigan went as far as recording a goodbye song. That’s so hilariously petty and Price’s jolly singing made it even better. Yet the movie’s so good that he manages to be horrifying in the climax when he sheds his sophisticated stature and embraces the rat
He’s so full of himself and went to the lengths of recording a goodbye song. Is Ratigan fine with no more Basil if the kill did work? Some fans think he might be bored with no rival
come to think of it... hhooww did he do that? You couldn't just pop a record into the record player and hit record, you had to use a very specialized system with like, a recording needle etching into a metal cylinder... or wax? I forget which technique this would be for.. I guess shellac records? and then make casts of that to produce the record itself. And it's not as if it's a tiny little mouseworld-sized record, this is a dang human one. a BUNCH of his henchmen and I guess hench-musicians had to work together to make this. That's not even taking into account that.. presumably a rat singing is pretty quiet and the old not-very-sensitive mics wouldn't pick it up that well. we're gonna ignore that. because it's a talking rat.
The best part about Rattigan’s goodbye song, in my opinion, is that when Vincent Price did die in real life, he had this song played at his funeral. How awesome can you be??
He put that in his will?
Basil: "You Professor, you're a foul 'Stenchious Rodentious,' more commonly known as a-"
Ratigain: "Don't say it!"
Basil "A sewer rat!"
Ratigain: *Screams*
The only other lines better are; "Ratigan, no one can have a higher opinion of you than me. And I think that you are a slimy, detestable sewer rat." Or, Ratigan sassing Basil; "You are fifteen minutes late. Having trouble with the chemistry set, old boy?" All three lines show the 'relationship' between them, and definitely falls into how Lindsey Ellis describes them as; "bitter ex-boyfriends"
Vincent Price is phenomenal. Like, in general, but especially when he plays an animated villain. He easily steals the show in The Thief and the Cobbler, and he’s amazing here, too. Possibly my favorite Disney villain

@@DavidDumbedDownokay Umm… why?
@@robertlauncher Disney said they were have a hard time finding a voice for Basil, they found Vincent Price durning their search for a Basil.
@@orangeslash1667That’s so cool
Can’t believe this movie is forgotten. Such a great Disney Classic and one of my personal favorite renaissance movies, even though it isn’t as grand or beloved as the other ones.
What doesn’t help is that Disney throws this movie under the rug because it didn’t do so well at the box office.
Simultaneously, if it did worse they may have gone bankrupt.

Better being a forgotten movie than being another abused real live remake.
actually this movie did pretty good at the box office at nearly $39 million to a $14 million budget
I was already convinced that Ratigan and Basil are bitter exes before I watched the video, but your analysis of Ratigan's obssession with outdoing Basil was the cheery on that cake
Disney made a "Disney Villainous" board game in which you played as Disney villains trying to achieve their goals. one of the first packs released included Ratigan, and that is how I learned about, and watched this Sherlock Holmes inspired masterpiece.
I love this movie.
Something else I do like is that in Vincent Price's dying wish, he requested that the role of Ratigan would never be passed onto somebody else, so I think this will save the film from the live action remake madness Disney has been doing recently.
Well, that's assuming Disney respects an actor's dying wishes, which is a rather large assumption to make (especially after the whole Robin Williams voice work drama that came out of Once Upon A Studio)
Gosh, I love this movie! I love the characters’ expressions, how Basil’s eccentric, arrogant, smart-as-a-whip personality works so well with Dawson’s kind, fatherly heart, and RATIGAN!!! Honestly one of the funniest villains I’ve ever seen (other than Yzma, Vector, Megamind, etc). And the fact that on top of all that, it has a mysterious, heart-warming tone, it just goes to show you how much the creators cared about their project 😊
What I don't understand is how literally every Disney film, no matter how unnecessary, got a direct-to-video sequel, but the film where I actually would not have minded getting a sequel, The Great Mouse Detective, never got it!
I know it's a shame
@@Edwinaopt Mystery stories take effort, so even by sequel standers I think Disney is too stupid to come up with a follow up.
@@orangeslash1667 Plus you really think Basil and Dawson can receive a decent sequel followup if the direct to video sequels are a mixed bag and the only sequel back then post GMD is The Rescuers Down Under?
These days, Disney can’t be trusted with a sequel
@@Thomasmemoryscentral Rescuers Down Under doesn't count because that was released theatrically.
Mystery Stories need to have smart dialogue. With something like Fox and the Hound 2 it's easy to come up with a dumb follow up, because the dialogue in that story is simple. GMD is not simple, so Disney can't recapture the magic.
Technically this had some sequel stuff in comics. Also, if they now made a sequel, it would have _a girl who is key to everything_ and Basil would probably be a complete fuck up as a legacy character and 3D CGI animation. I prefer hand drawn.
"Goodbye, So Soon" possibly the biggest Disney villain trool
The Great Mouse Detective is the only Disney movie that had two songs sung by the villain and none by the hero. That is unheard of. But it works because Vincent Price is so memorable.
This movie also emulates the "Sherlock Holmes" inspiration very well. I don't personally read the series but my brother does and he _loves_ this movie. A massive chunk of the reason Basil is the way he is _is_ because of Sherlock Holmes. He's implied to be the mouse version of Sherlock and even lives directly under Holmes' flat. He's a lot more cartoonish than the character he is inspired by, of course, but its hard not to be cartoonish when you're literally an animated mouse.. However, it's not overdone and Basil's character writing is done in such a unique and thoughtful way that he still manages to stand on his own as his own character.
Of all the TV shows and sequels Disney has made, I wish they had done more with this IP. One of my favorite movies growing up.
(Although the mechanical Queen was kind of nightmare fuel)
It would've made a great Disney Afternoon show, but with Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck, they might have decided they had the mystery genre saturated.
Of course I think a crossover with Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers would've been an amazing episode, and as crazy as that show was would 1 time travel episode be that hard to swallow?
Something that you don't mention about Rattigan is his obsession of being perceived as a mouse, not a 'rat' as he truly is -- to the point where he straight up kills a drunk lackey for calling him one during his villain song. He is a character that goes to such lengths to hide his feral qualities... Up until the point where Basil finally upstages him at the movie's climax. Then, in a beautiful act of symbolism, he sheds his mouse-like persona and embraces his true nature as a rat to try to kill Basil in the clock tower, which is reflected in the way he tears at his clothes and starts to run on all fours like a true beast. Thus, you have a final battle not against two geniuses, but the opposing natures of savagery and reason itself.
Truly, the Great Mouse Detective is one of Disney's deepest animated movies and one of my personal favorites.
Professor Ratigan is my favorite Disney villian. The sheer amount of ham Vincent Price shows while playing him is amazing. The guy can be super brutal too, like feeding one of your underlings to a cat because he called you a rat, kicking your second in command, who you know can't fly because of a crippled wing, off your get away blimp, devious.
One of my childhood favorites!! Rockotar isn't the first person to heap praise on The Great Mouse Detective and he won't be the last either. That said, it always gives me a little joy to see someone else giving it some recognition.
I think this is one of the few movies that managed to have both great villain and great protagonist, specially because both are basically stealing each other's thunder with no rest, both are competent and both have amazing charisma
I’m 29 and watched this movie for the first time last year, so I have zero childhood nostalgia behind me saying that this is one of my favourite Disney movies! It’s the perfect level of moody, funny, and charming, and all the characters are an absolute joy! It’s become a bit of a comfort watch for me lol
This is honestly one of my favorite disney movies. I remember watching it all the time as a kid on VHS. also this was one of the first times Disney used computer animation in a movie (inside big ben)
The fact that this movie never got a sequel is a crime.
Although I do remember hearing there was a concept of a big crossover sequel where Mickey disappears and Minnie hires Basil to search for him across various Disney movies which Lasseter killed when he took over. Can't find the source though.
The lost concept was where Mickey got "Mousenapped" which led to an investigation by the Sherlock Mouse. Apparently some Disney characters were to cameo along the way too.
“Minnie hires Brazil”. But for real, that does sound like an interesting idea.
@@bigbangbot-SuperSqank fucking autocorrect
Not sure that could've been a theatrical movie back in the day (Now with the Multiverse craze it might work), but would've been one hell of a Wonderful World of Disney TV special and sell well on the video market.
Fun fact: In the original novel the movie is based on, Rattigan is a halfbreed rat/mouse and extremely self conscious about this, hence his defensiveness about being referred to as a rat. In the movie he's just a rat who wants to be identified as (an objectively inferior) mouse for some reason.
Big Ben is actually my favorite Disney climax. It’s extremely intense and well paced.
Its also satisfying how Basil and Ratigan act like each others opposites and mirrors: Basil with his cocky attitude on the outside but then having to realize his fault on the inside, and Ratigans act as the sophisticated civilized rat even when on the inside he is brash and, like people would say, a rat.
The unhinged beauty of the failed execution scene in all its quirky grotesquerie, made me cry tears of joy
The Great Mouse Detective was an absolute gem thank you for making a video on this. This movie not being a musical made this movie a million times better too. After a while all the musical movies get old but THIS??? THIS GEM RIGHT HERE never get old
"sorry, chubby. You've should have chosen your friends more carefully!" Classic!!!
Pretty good review! You certainly touched on some very good points. The only disagreement I would have is that Basil wanted Dawson around for the sake of not wanting to fall back to his obsessive ways, but rather because Basil feels lonely. The instant Dawson started complimenting his deductions in the beginning, Basil latched onto Dawson like a vice- dragging him along for the ride, wanting to share his adventures with someone who appreciates his intellect. Given how eccentric, egotistical and aloof he is to those who need his help, I assume he never really had a chance to make personal attachments with anyone. Something that he manages to form with Dawson and Olivia over time, and therefore becomes emotional and sad when they begin to leave him. Aside from that, great to see this underrated movie getting more love!
Ratigan was one of Vincent Price’s favorite roles
The funniest thing to me is that Ratigan's trap is as simple as "Oh hey, I realized you'd find me and my gang and my secret hideout! Great, you found it! .......Now what?"
Like, it's the most obvious thing imaginable, and Basin just falls fight into it, forgetting that even if he finds the place, there's an entire gang of mice and one really big rat ready to murk him when he shows up. XD
Its sad this movies forgotten. Its the first movie to give me nightmares as well as get into detective stories and mysteries when i was a child
I don’t think they forgot this film.
They released a new Basil pin and I love it.
I love this film as well, totally underrated.
Great video. I grew up loving this movie as a kid and I still think it’s great now. It’s a real shame that this movie doesn’t get more recognition, both for Disney and the internet because it is definitely one of Disney’s most underrated movies. The near death scene and the climax man, they are so good.

I'm French and I had a French vhs copy of The Great Mouse Detective which was titled in my country "Basil Detective Privé ".
I think I haven't seen such a dark Disney classic back then. (Well the whole movie takes place at night😅)
I learned much later that the original english voice for Ratigan was horror legend Vincent Price and that it was his personal favorite role.
But for us Frencht people, the voice of Basil was done by the late Roger Carel. The French voice for Asterix in most of the animated movies.
I'm not French, but I'm a voice acting nut and an Astérix fan to boot. Roger Carel NAILED Basil, he was an amazing VA. We never got our own dub of the movie in my country (Portugal), so I went out of my way to get a French DVD of the movie so I could have a physical copy. I think I made a good choice for the dub I got. 😊
P.S.: I'm still amazed that Roger Carel managed to sound younger in 2014 than in 2006.
One thing this movie does very well is establish all the characters dynamics/themes of the Sherlock mythos in a neat yet new way.
Basil is not sherlock, he's similar, but he's more outwardly emotional, and energetic, easier to love and to understand, than Sherlock, who's quite misanthropic. He still fits the sherlock role very very well.
Dawson seems to be older, rather than the comparable age of the books, he's also more down to earth, catching the obvious details that Basil misses in the hunt for the obscure. He also fulfils the classic Watson role of audience surrogate, having sherlock explain how he figured something out, though he can't be the muscle/firearm of the two like in the books.
Olivia, is the children's and manages to do so without being annoying. She's also the adventures 3rd party that brings the mystery to the two and leaves after.
Finally Ratigan. Unlike the original version of Moriarty who Conan Doyle created one day, Ratigan has taken the more popular form of archnemesis. It's made very clear through both spoken and unspoken means that they have been going after each other for YEARS. Basil has been unable to catch the Napoleon of crime, but conversely Ratigan has had every plan kept in check by Basil. He is probably the one thing apart from the word 'rat' to get under Ratigan's skin. And it shows.
They obviously didn't have the budget and nobody cares enough anymore, but you could have sequels/spin off shows for YEARS considering the sheer weight and volume of sherlock stories. Other characters like Mary Morstan/Watson, Inspector Lestrade, Irene Adler, Mycroft Holmes, The Baker Street Irregulars. You could even go into other Victorian fiction, like 20,000 leagues under the sea, but you'd have to adapt each of the stories. However, with Ratigan, the perfect villain, no longer with them, you'd struggle to find a better mastermind/nemesis.
This is my favourite Disney movie for real. Extremely underrated, all awesome characters and very memorable songs and music. Also Fidget scared the crap out of me when I was a kid
Ratigan is my favorite version of Professor Moriaty, because he’s just as ego driven as Basil.
He doesn’t do crimes for the money, but to show off how smart he is.
I remember watching this when I was younger. That final battle in Big Ben was intense af and I loved every minute of it.
I can't forget The Great Mouse Detective! Always a fan of Mystery and Adventure, Sherlock Holmes and the differences in scale of a human town, compared to a Mouse Society! This is a big part of my childhood, and I never get tired of watching it! ^^
I LOVE this movie. This movie was my introduction to Sherlock Holmes and I love Holmes so much.
The Great Mouse Detective is amazing and deserves all the love.
Disney needs more villains like Ratigan
I liked this video before I watch it. Thank you so much for giving light to this underrated masterpiece. ❤ I just love the enemy dynamic between Ratigan and Basil, Basil is an awesome main character, Olivia is an adorable little girl, Dowtson is easily one of the best side kicks, Mr Flabbersham is also one of the best fathers Disney has ever written, and the story is incredibly well-written and it balances out exceptionally well action, funny, intense and emtional scenes. The beginning is easily one of the hardest to watch, no matter how many times I watch this film, I always end up crying for how heartbreaking it is to see little Olivia being left all on her own. 🥺😭💔 Worth mentioning Ratigan's song is incredibly catchy and sinister. It's not as amazing as Frollo's Hellfire, but it is still easily one of the best villain songs Disney has ever produced. Heck, even minor characters like Queen Victoria, Toby the dog or Felicia the cat are great. This movie deserves much more attention than it gets! 👏🏼💖
I actually just had an encounter with a big mouse today. Yet despite being bigger then usual, is somehow a very stealthy big mouse 🐁
As for the film, I remember seeing it in my childhood too (when Disney was still Toon Disney, and had movie events like the Goofy Movie 1 and 2 amongst the occasional pixar films). The clock tower scene is just as iconic and the best memory I had of the said film xD.
I love this movie. It was (and still is) one of my favorite Disney movies. Also Ratigan is One of my Favorite Villains of all time. So glad you decided to review this movie.
One time I managed to convince my culinary teacher to put this movie on in class because he’d never seen it before (and I love this movie) so that was fun
He ended up liking it which is a win in my book
Please never stop conducting a thorough analysis on some of the most precious movies of my childhood. You are so articulate and very enjoyable to listen to. Keep it up man!
Such a great video! You perfectly understand the characters and especially where Basil is going through. As a part of the GMD fandom I can say you did the movie justice! Thank you for giving this movie some light what it definatly needed and deserves.
For me the greatest is part is the final part when Ratigan, who doesn’t want to be called a rat, actually becomes a ravishing rat.
Spent all his time holding in his inner savagery to perfect his plan in the manner of a posh snooty gentleman and by the time he saw Basil and Olivia escape, he felt fed up by Badil outwitting him and let out his inner savagery
Always loved this movie. As a kid, I always liked its mixture of humor and unsettling scenes. As a kid, I remember Rattigan always freaked me out because it seemed like he was a monster pretending to be a person (which he arguably is) but this video shows me that the things that made him scary also make him funny, so thank you for that.
"Arguably"? I don't think anyone's arguing that he isn't exactly that.
@cradiculous Oh, sorry, I meant literally a monster, like he came from Hell and pretended to be like everyone else. Ethically, though, no doubt about him being a monster. In fact, he fails the ethics so badly that I makes me come back around on him possibly being from Hell, heheheh!
thank you for remembering. I absolutely loved it as a kid, and you're right, the climate of the movie is outstanding.
I absolutely *adored* this movie as a kid, I'm so glad it hasn't been forgotten
Same here
Fidget is imo the funniest side bad guy in all of Disney - who's greatest characters/voice actors seem to be from the 60s - 80s - and the scene where Ratigan's face turns red (blood pressure induced anger lol) is classic. My favorite Disney movie, right up there with aristocats
This is my all time favorite Disney film and animated film in general. It’s absolutely incredible. Beautiful animation and memorable characters all around. By far the most underrated Disney movie ever made.
When he talked about their resume, he played clips from Little Mermaid, Treasure Planet, and Moana. That leaves Aladdin, Princess and the Frog, and Hercules. Now Hercules is one of the less beloved of the Renaissance, and I wouldn't call Princess and the Frog a classic. I think Aladdin is the overrated one.
😠
Knowing Rockotar, it’s Moana. He ranked Moana at the bottom of his Disney princess ranking and he doubled down on his criticisms towards the movie in that video’s comments.
I love this movie snd this analysis is top tier. ❤ One of the things that suddenly struck me after you pointed it out was how Ratigan is trying to outdo Basil, out perform Basil, and prove he's better than Basil... but he needs Basil to be AWARE of it. They're so obsessed with each other that it actually hinders their own plans and interactions with others. And you pointing this out made me realize that the point of Ratigan's machine wasn't just overkill but it takes time. Almost like a dare for Basil to try to get out if this time, but also he wanted Basil to be fully aware of his downfall. They could have been killed in the bar, but instead the drinks were laced eith something to make them woozy not poison. He could have killed them upon their capture, he had the manpower for it, but he wanted to taunt Basil to his face and place him in the trap. He could have killed him at the clock tower, but his ego caused him to wait until Basil woke up to make his move because finishing him off while unconscious wouldn't allow him the satisfaction of Basil being AWARE of what got him.
And after the talk about Basil's character growth, I think is what made the clocktower the final straw. Ratigan *wanted* to hold his possession of Olivia over him and engage in some battle if eits and strength and courage but the problem is Basil is no longer interested in the game. He doesn't compete with Ratigan, his focus is now on saving Olivia. His pride would have gotten him killed before, but now there's no shame in running away because "besting" Ratigan is no longer important. And realizing the game is over, that Basil is ready to move on from this obsession, caused Ratigan to snap as he sees Basil leaving him behind.
And ahhh i love this dynamic. Like you said, what makes them so great is not only do they reflect each other, but they're a rare case of actually being equals. So often the villains are so much more because the question is how the heroes can overcome such a powerful threat? But here is a unique balance where we really get to know both sides and see their insecurities when not directly against each other.
I’m surprised people really don’t talk much about this one, I look through forums and lists of favorite Disney movies and it barely gets mentioned, and the only people I’ve talked to in person who seem to remember it are those who grew up with it as children in the 90’s like myself, and I’ve only seen it on television a few times within the last decade.
I think Rescuers also have that mysterious eerie vibe.
Ya.. Down Under.
@@sllawson6 Down under has a different vibe to it. It has it own distinct personality.
I love Fidget the bat, Ratigan's henchman, he can be absolutely terrifying at one time and then so goofy in another. I miss characters like this. The recent closest thing to it probably was Tamatoa from Moana
That's exactly why I loved Tamatoa so much. He reminded me of an old school Disney villain.
Decided out of the blue to rewatch this movie last night. It's been years since I've seen it and I was surprised to find it's still very, _very_ good.
I'm so happy that SOMEBODY is talking about this great film! It's a shame that it faded into obscurity the way it did because, as you mentioned, there are so many brilliant nuances. The climax straight up scared me as a child, and I loved it! They don't make cool climaxes like that anymore (IMO). You pretty much summed up why I love this movie.
This movie is the reason I read Sherlock Homles and the beginning of my love for detective and mystery books
I loved this movie as a kid! Fell in love with mystery and detective books because of it.
This is a film that I just watched in it's entirely on Disney+ yesterday (sadly, you have to search for it to find it, but it's totally worth it) . I saw parts of this film as a child, but only up to the part where Olivia gets captured at the toy store. As an adult finally watching it all the way through, it's fantastic. It's got all the mature themes most Disney films don't dare to play around with these days, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, guns and weapons, one of the henchmen getting eaten off camera by Felicia in the middle of a musical number and a mouse strip tease. I love it! Also, Vincent Price as Ratigan is the highlight of this movie. He's such a fun villain with fantastic and hilarious facial expressions.
-Miss Flangerhanger..
-Flaversham..
-Whatever..
Definitely agree and yes it’s a shame that didn’t have a franchise because after all, due to its critical and financial success, this help set the stage for the Disney Renaissance. It has likable characters, great story, and cool scenes. No need to explain why Basil is my favorite Disney protagonist but of course, Vincent Price stole this movie as Ratigan.
Disney needs another Basil after Wish.
This is my favourite Disney movie. It’s so unlike anything else they were making at the time. I loved Sherlock Holmes, this had that tone down pat. It has Vincent Price, who later stated that this was his favourite role, it has one of the greatest villain songs, a burlesque mouse and some amazingly quotable dialogue
The Great Mouse Detective is my third favorite Disney animated film, right after Aladdin and the Lion King. It has Vincent Price voiced the villain! Too bad it's so overlooked.
This literally is my favorite animated movie. One of the best memories from my childhood! Thanks for doing this video on it 😊
I loved this movie when I was a kid,I still love it to this day,I hate how hardly anyone knows about it
To quote Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of Sherlock:
I'm a high functioning sociopath
I had this on pirate video when i was a kid. I must have watched this countless times. Forgot how dark it was.
“Never heard of it, was i supposed to CARE”
Is not what I’m thinking right now I swear
I was born in 1989 and THIS was my favorite Disney movie.
Ima say that the one Musker and Clements joint you don’t like is Moana simply due to the fact that you said that Moana is a bad Disney Princess in your Disney Princess ranking. Or maybe it could be treasure planet I have no idea
So long goodbye is cheff kiss villain song
I’ve heard good things about this one, would like to check it out sometime
Oh man this was my first Disney movie that I ever watched I hope it doesn't get the Disney live action treatment it doesn't deserve that fate
*shivers down my spine at the thought of this movie being put on the live action Guillotine*
i remember Cartoon Network playing this and the American Tale movies all the time, but my memories are so vague of them both
This movie is actually my favorite! I wasn't born until the early 2000s, so I think that proves it is still loved.
This movie was the first time Don Bluth managed to beat Disney with his own mouse movie, An American Tail.
However An American Tail failed to get positive reviews like with Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood
This is actually my favorite Disney (animated) movie ^^
This movie is absolutely amazing. Saw it as a child and loved it ever since. I even had the audio play of it. Also, if you think the original Rattigan is amazing, listen to the German one. That voice actor clearly loved this role and gave it his all, maybe even some more than that.
Need we mention Basil LIVES UNDERNEATH SHERLOCK HOLMES!!!!
TBH the only part of Oliver and Company I liked were the Billy Joel songs and the fact that it takes place in 1980's NYC. Forget the rest of it, I'd rather just have the Disney level animation of life in NYC.
I lovd this movies so much!!! I watched it at least 100 tims, I'm not kidding. I also adored treasure planet too, and Atlantis. These are my fav animated movies, even today.
It almost feels like a crime to talk about this movie and not mention that Basil got his name in reference to Basil Rathbone, who was either THE first or one of the first actors to play Sherlock on screen.
i grew up watching this on public tv, i love this film with ALL my hearth, its so nostalgic to me, and i honestly im very happy to see it getting some recognition!
Speaking of respect, I like how the named the Sherlock Holmes character after Basil Rathbone
A great movie. I first discovered it as a teen about 15 years ago or so, loved it instantly. One of my favorite Disney movies of all time.
The only thing I disliked in it is using the more "disliked" animals in real world as villains. A rat, a bat, a lizard? Those are usually(or least very often) villains in cartoons. I never understood this, nor I ever will. Which is why appreciate it so much when movies make such animals heroes, like Secret of Himh(a heroic rat was one of main characters) or the new Back to the Outback.
Thanks for the video! An excellent, in-depth review. Subscribed.
Now I want to rewatch this. My sister and I loved this movie as a kid. Ratigan’s villain song always cracked us up.
Sing it with me if you’ve seen TGMD “Oh Ratigan! Oh Ratigan!”
YOU’RE TOPS AND THATS THAT! TO RATIGAN! TO RATIGAN!
I always forget this one...which is sad, because I also love it. The book is also worth a read. Not better, but good.
This is honestly my fav disney movie, love to see it get some love!
One of my childhood favorite !
Ratigan was also one of Price's favourite, if not his favourite, roles he ever did before he died.
I haven't watched this movie in so long but I definitely need to watch it again! I completely forgot how good the characters are!
Who are your favorite characters everyone?
Olivia has always been my favorite because she’s so adorable, and I cry every time she reunites with her father😭😭😭
*Goodbye so soon* is a banger
Loved Great Mouse Detective since I was a kid and also it got me reading Sherlock Holmes. Ratigan is one of my favorite Disney villians (R.I.P. Vincent Price).
