Because, I came up with a fan-made back cover description for an imagined future book in that series which would involve McLeach, and would have pretty much that exact theme to it.
At 18:53, you can see that McLeach tucks himself into a cannonball as he falls. This position actually makes one more likely to survive this sort of situation. So, it’s entirely possible that he never died at all.
@@Rockotarthepurplehatguy One interesting thing I noticed of McLeach falling to his death is he practically died by his own fault nearly similar to Medusa. Here is a rundown of each of their starts to ends: 1. Both become introduced with this hollier than though attitude. 2. Each captured a child over a select period of time. Based on Medusa's first ugh moment talking with Snoops over the phone yelling that he is been down at the bayou for months confirms Penny is captive for at least perhaps 3 months whereas Cody seems to be prisoner for only 2 days? 3. They've had no patience with their comedic sidekicks. Medusa smacks Snoop's hand full of small jewels because she can't be satisfied with the small goodies and McLeach kicks Joanna in the butt a couple of times if she annoys him too much Funnily enough both sidekicks have a scene of their hands getting hurt. For Snoops, it's his hands becoming smacked by Medusa's cane and for Joanna, Mcleach catches her hands in his egg tin when he thinks he stopped her from stealing his eggs 4. Both of their climaxes end on a body of water with reptilian beasts. Medusa becomes dragged by Penny on the swamp mobile where she rides her crocodiles and McLeach becomes pushed into the river to the falls by Bernard and has to fight off gators with his gun. 5. Their ends end in the water. Medusa's rope end snaps once Penny makes a sharp right tearing it off and shes flung into a chimney from the exploded riverboat and her last scene shows her avoiding her gators Brutus and Nero who she treated like garbage on the river chase snapping at her feet. While you can theorize maybe Medusa escaped them once the gators tired of her keep away, Mcleach is certainly dead from that large drop he took over the waterfall
Of course, assuming he DID survive the fall, he’ll still have a lot of broken bones from the landing, and he’ll be alone and unarmed. In the Australian Outback. Death by falling would be a mercy in comparison.
McLeach is the best vilain since he didn't ask minions to kill the kid like Scar, he actually tried to kill it by himself with a gun, into crocodiles, that's super brutal... He also clearly killed the male eagle and mimic a sticking to the kid... He also kept the boy captive and then manipulated him to know where the nest is... Scar is a animal and male lion use to kill the younglings of others when they become the alpha, here MacLeach is human... The death of the male eagle must be recent since the eggs are fertile... Bernard & Bianca have the best love story of Disney since they love eachother since start, Bianca knows he is the bravest and the guy proofs it during the whole movie.
Even Bernard's arc of him maning up to let that boar knows he is on a long journey and needs his help with no funny business is one of the great underrated "alright yeah!" Moments. Heck he still treats the boar with respect in the little screentime he shared with him once hes up on the head and instructs him to follow the monster truck
McCleach hunting down the male eagle must have been the number one reason why he was a wanted man. Out of all the critters he captured, this one took the cake.
Hey guys, this video was mean to be out 3 days ago, but Disney is stupid and decided to block it, despite it being so obviously fair use. even after disputing I had to wait 48 hours. Also this video probably wont make any money despite it being a week's worth of work. I Hope at least you guys can enjoy it, unlike Disney. (if you want to help me out, I have a Patreon account, but there aren't many special benefits, so only support me if you really like my content, link in the description)
Yes. I was just thinking about these 2 recently. I re-realized that these are my top 2 favorite Disney movies from childhood. Both extremely underrated.
I grew up loving this movie and it's still my favorite renaissance movie from an animation standpoint. That very first shot is such a massive flex on its use of the multiplane camera to rival that morning shot in Pinocchio. And so much work and character into Marahute's animation. She moved in a real birdlike way, but she uses her bird body language to hold an entire "conversation" with Cody that a child can follow. Her "shrug" was so cute. Bernard's arc is good, Cody's competence while still clearly being a kid makes McLeach that much more menacing, Joanna is an entertaining villain sidekick, the pacing is tense and the action scenes are massive creative spectacles and wonderful payoff. Of all the movies I put on, my son loves this one the most. So it's not just nostalgia. It's just that good.
I *LOVED* The Rescuers Down Under, and I wished that they continued The Rescuers, whether it would be more sequels, or a series. Honestly I would be ok with both because I just want The Rescuers to come back and continue.
idk if it's fake one or nah, but they planned third movie, sadly like comment above me says Eva passed away and they canned it, but idk if that was true
Another sequel would have been good in the 90's. Maybe early 2000's. Any later, and it would have been a bad imitation without the same charm and acting quality. Especially if Disney made it these days.
Thank you for posting this. I loved this movie. No "princess", but an intriguing story. You are so right about the vast scope of many of the scenes. I remember being drawn in by the flight of the eagle as if I were flying with her.
Mcleach is definitely the best part of the movie and he actually introduced me to an old backwoods song that I didn't even know about until I heard him sing it slightly. The song has two names one being "you get a line, I'll get a pole," and the other being the crawdad song so I thank him for introducing me to a great classic backwoods song. I also love every facial expression that McLeach has they are comedic gold every one of them. My favorite one has to be when he sees the golden feather and he smiles wickedly and that face says to me "this boy has a gold feather and he knows where she is and he's definitely going to tell me." That and his truck is definitely a sight to behold with good cgi matched perfectly with a really good and frightening score when his big monster of a truck comes into full view and his truck is definitely the definitions of beastly and all terrain in one and I love it
This movie has such beautiful music and amazing visuals! Also I totally missed how good the villain was when I was younger! You should do a review of the first movie which also has great music! Also Bianca and Bernard are great characters and a great team! 😊
My animation professor was actually one of the directors of this movie, Hendel Butoy. Such an awesome guy and it was nuts to learn that he was an animator on many of my childhood movies.
Thank you! Keep up the reviews, don't burn yourself out, and keep doing what you love. Also, while it's been almost 2 decades since I've watched this, whenever a scene came up in your review, my memories came back--'Aha! I remember this scene. " (PS, Frank and the key scenes are my mother's favorite parts.)
so happy to see one of my childhood favs be brought up again :) as a kid i loooved the realistic way they animated the majestic eagle,,, the music and the way it flies and acts is just marvelous and unforgettable. time to rewatch it again.
We had this movie on VHS in our house when I was growing up and even way back then I could recognize there was something special about it. We had a quite lot of Disney VHS tapes and this was one of the more stand-out movies for me out of all of them.
So glad someone is praising the music during the message montage scene, FINALLY! I 100% agree with you, that music gets me hyped without fail every single time
That scene walked so that the the Beacons of Gondor could run. It's strange to think that a scene dedicated to a cry for help could be so hopeful and inspiring, and probably a testament to the quality of the filmmaking that it came across that way.
had this movie on VHS when i was a kid. i think i watched it maybe 5 times that i can remember, and i loved it each time. this was my first Rescuers movie, and it would be years before i saw the original. at that point, i was also a fan of All Dogs Go to Heaven, so i couldn't but help make parallels between the 2
This is my favorite animated Disney movie of all time, with the Jungle Book and Mulan being 2nd and 3rd respectively. I decided to do a search on UA-cam for this movie and I'm delighted to see that someone has shown it the love it deserves by making a video on it. Thank you for doing your part to make sure this movie isn't forgotten!
I watched this and the rescuers with my brother so many times, we had it on vhs. The animation is so charming, especially in the first one. I love how sweet and caring Bernard and Bianca are towards each other. A mouse romance done well
The feather Cody gets always made me think of those generic, banana flavored popsicles that you could split in to two separate popsicles and I always got a hankering for one whenever I watched this movie as a kid. Still kind of does, as a matter of fact.
The Rescuers Down Under is easily one of the best Disney sequels ever made, (Pixar sequels don't count). The cinematography in this movie is absolutely fantastic.
I wouldn’t call it the best (Because even the movie has plenty flaws, like it’s 3rd act being a bit rushed), but definitely underrated. And I’m glad I didn’t feel the need to change how it’s main leads Bernard and Bianca were like in the first movie.
I actually think it's the best Disney sequel. If we consider all the others I think Winnie the pooh 2011 is good, but I prefer the first movie, Fantasia 2000 is ok, but it isn't as memorable as the first Fantasia and Ralph breaks the Internet and Frozen 2 suck ass
@@sonysfan19992: Winnie the Pooh isn't really a sequel so much as a "new entry in a longstanding series" with a story that doesn't follow chronologically from a previous movie, and the Fantasia films aren't really movies so much as compilations of short artistic scenes. If you exclude CGI movies, this movie's only competition for Disney animated theatrical releases is Jungle Book 2 and Peter Pan 2. I think we have a clear winner.
You nailed it on the head when you said that this movie stands on its own. I actually saw it before the prequel, and still knew what was going on. In fact, the only reason I saw the original was because I liked this one so much and tried to rent it, but mistook the first movie for this (not that I’m complaining)
I always loved this film as a kid, alongside other 90s/early 2000s 'flops' like Atlantis and Treasure Planet. As a side note I think McLeach may have been the inspiration for the design of Sniper in Team Fortress 2.
One thing I don’t see talked about enough is the grip on perspective the artists making this movie have, as an artist myself I know how torturous trying to figure out perspective is and the panning shots really shows how great the art in this movie is also the colors are so good the art is genuinely amazing
I saw this film on its first run and I loved it. It was hilarious and gloriously action-packed and gave us a truly good character arc where the two mains develop a relationship over a period of time as opposed to the instalove plots of many other Disney films. Upon rewatching 3 decades later, I found my love for the film hadn’t diminished a bit. It’s sad that it didn’t take off like its Renaissance counterparts but it’s worth the time to find, watch and appreciate. Thank you for this!
I'm glad this movie is finally getting some of the recognition it deserves. Loved it as a kid. Best part for me was the side arch of seeing Bernard trying to propose to Bianca. In light of Eva and Bob passing. It feels like the best happy ending for the characters and actors involved (even tho Eva and Bob were just friends).
The scene with the mice relaying the message to RAS really stands out. The mice don't say anything and aren't even on screen for very long but they're still so expressive and have personality
This was my fave rescuers movie. Everything so pretty to look at loved the villain, story was much more thoght out and planned then the fst one. it is a big shame this movie is not well known I think one of best disney movies out there. and still holds up great today.
I completely agree, this movie has influenced SEVERAL big blockbusters that came out since then. In particular two recent ones (Godzilla vs Kong and Avatar: Way of Water) seem to be taking a few clues from it. Everything from their graphics, to the music sounds similar. They also feature a relationship between a child and a gigantic creature and that gives them a truly emotionally complex and touching storyline. They also feature truly horrible villains who enjoy abusing animals. The flight scenes in Avatar clearly took some inspiration from this one, and Mecha Godzilla in Godzilla vs Kong seems to be modelled after the monstrous poacher truck.
7:34 Okay, but Cody had a mother who loved and would probably miss him and he got snatched basically in his backyard. Penny was trafficked from the city to a foreign place and used for labor. She was in that well just trying to survive 😭
Lol I didn’t think anyone would read this. I love both movies and your analysis! I felt so close to Penny. Medusa tried to breakdown her self esteem and rob her of her dream of a real loving family and yet… When she was terrified and drowning in that cave, had the diamond in her hand, she saw her friends were in trouble, and turned around to save them🥹 Penny made me want to be brave & loyal to my friends, and to believe that kindness and help (no matter how small) are always available to those that ask.
THANK YOU. When I was a kid, I didn't know there WAS a first rescuers, I thought this was it. This movie TERRIFIED me, but at the same time I loved it. I would watch this constantly and was so disappointed to find out that so many hadn't watched it. I'm so glad someone's actually talking about this movie!
This movie is criminally underrated because it was barely marketed, for reasons totally uknown for me, and it was such a bizarre and ludicrous move on the part of the business. They just made a MOVIE, why the heck not get the sales from getting people to watch it???
Hmm, was it really barely-marketed? Or just overshadowed by The Little Mermaid? I remember commercials, and McDonald's put toys in Happy Meals themed for this - I had one.
It did get marketing, it was just marketed at the worst time. Not only was the film having to deal with Little Mermaid's shadow, it was also having to compete with Home Alone, another massively popular film that also happens to be about a kid dealing with criminals.
Mcleach is such an awesome villain. The kinda dude you LOVE to hate and HATE to love. Disney doesn't make those kinds of villains anymore, unfortunately.
Me as a kid, crying: MOM DID CODY GO HOME TO HIS MOM, DID SHE COME AND GET HIM?? my mom: WHO IS CODY? lmfao yeah that villain was super entertaining but super freaky too, you definitely felt threatened by him and I agree his manipulation was brilliant. You definitely feel that Cody is in real danger around him.
I dislike one major thing about this film: the animals in the holding pen were never rescued, at least not on camera. Sure, Cody knew where they were, but the movie just sorta forgets about them.
So usually I listen to these while I draw, but I ended up watching the whole thing because by golly I had forgotten how beautiful the animation for this film is--I remember renting this movie a LOT growing up and I think it did a lot to influence how I visualize sequences when I'm writing or drawing. Also I love that you mention the soundtrack being so good because the guy who did it, Bruce Broughton, also did the score for Homeward Bound (also a good movie) and the theme song for JAG--this man was basically my favorite composer as a kid without me realizing. X'D (also love how you mention McLeach looking like an evil Indiana Jones when the music for the globetrotting sequence reminded me of Indiana Jones so now I'm wondering if that was intentional) And it's been years but the "did you steal my eggs?" scene still plays regularly in my head and I still drag any big feathers I find across my neck because of this movie. :D
I think why this movie is underrated is because out of all iconic Disney animated films to be the first to get a sequel... why Rescuers? The Rescuers was a good movie but it's not as hugely popular as Dumbo or Alice In Wonderland.
I prefer the story better in the first one but John Candy is in this movie so I definitely enjoy it, the animation and score were great in this and also George C Scott
I wanted to create a video for this movie but, you are alive as well. Respect bro! I 100000% agree. Now I’m gonna listen the ultimate soundtrack of this to get the rare rocky Balboa feeling 👍👍👍
McLeach is one of my all time favorite Disney villains and this movie is also one of my favorites from Disney. It’s too bad they’re not capable of making anything good like this anymore. I basically all but hate Disney now for what they’ve become.
Personally, I prefer the original 'Rescuers' - but that's just me. Anyway, I will certainly acknowledge that 'Down Under' has a lot to recommend it, with, yeah, a genuinely great villain, and some really nice animation and action. Have you considered doing a video on 'The Great Mouse Detective', if you've seen that? Personally, I think of it as being underrated in a lot of the ways you listed here for this one (not to mention, of course, the fact that it basically saved Disney's entire animation department, meaning that the Renaissance would most likely not have happened without it).
I loved this movie as a kid i remember my grandma throwing this on and me and brother would just get lost in it one of the Disney movies that we actually really got into and will always have a place in my heart brings back alot of memories and nostalgia
The soundtrack is *vastly* improved by not having vocals. It's just a gorgeous score, and it works magnificently. Great movie, thank you for spending some time talking it up!
I used to watch Rescuers Down Under on VHS over and over when I was a kid. The part that I loved the most was definitely the message relay sequence and considering that I've only recently realized that I'm probably on the autism spectrum, that makes even more sense. Like you said, the music in the scene was phenomenal, but what really got me was the inventiveness and feeling of expansiveness when we're shown many parts of rescuers' network, consisting of downed aeroplanes, message outposts and even A MOUSE-INFILTRATED HAWAIIAN MILITARY BASE of all things!
I grew up watching this movie. I've never seen the first movie. For most of my life? I didn't even know it was a sequel. And was shocked barely anyone had seen it. I live in Australia, so it makes sense why my parents bought the tape (90's all the way). And whenever I come across a goanna in the wild, I still call them Joanna lol
I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ both The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under. I haven't watched either of these movies in almost a year But today I rewatched The Rescuers in memorian of Bob NewHart who died a few days ago at the age of 94. I'm rewatch The Rescuers Down Under later this week. Both films were a staple of my child hood on VHS during The 90's
George C Scott as McCleach, Vincent Price as Professor Ratigan, Robert Loggia as Sykes from Oliver and Company, Tony Jay as Frollo and Jim Woods as Hades I think are my favorite villians The ones I didn't mention are still AWESOME though
This was one of my favorite movies growing up, along with Fivel Goes West… and I have just realized that two of my most rewatched movies as a kid have mouse protagonists. And I’m now going to watch your video on The Great Mouse Detective, as I have fond childhood memories of that movie as well.
This was one of my favourite Disney movies as a kid, together with Aristocats! (I never cared much for the classic fairytales and princess stories, because I grew up on the German originals, so the Disney versions felt kinda off.) As an adult, and from a writing perspective, I'd agree with you on the flaws of the ending, but tbh, none of that mattered to me as a kid. My brain would just fill in the blanks to my satisfaction.
McLeach is my favourite Disney Animation villain, as he was more intimidating than his predecessor Madame Medusa. Medusa was generally a well written villainess, but one is more realistic, as poachers do exist in real life and are just as dangerous because majority won’t hesitate to harm people who attempt to stop them, which is what gives him that fear factor, as well as being afraid for Cody’s safety, especially later on in the movie. He’s cruel, sadistic and selfish in personality which makes him even scarier. McLeach additionally tricked the rangers into thinking Cody had fallen into crocodile infested waters and died, by tossing Cody’s backpack in so nobody would think he was kidnapped by a dangerous monster. Additionally that truck he drives, the Bushwhacker, was jaw droppingly amazing and chilling to look at, his home/hideout in the abandoned opal mines was just as sinister and empty. Also McLeach was just inches away from succeeding in his goal, and is perfectly alright with threatening Cody with weapons, including knifes and his gun, which is horrifying. Overall, everything about this character is bleak, disturbing and terrifying and I think it’s done really well to make the viewer think that’s definitely one person you wouldn’t want to meet in the Australian Outback. Nowadays, McLeach somewhat reminds me of Freddy Krueger, as they both wisecrack while being so cruel threatening and totally sadistic towards their victims, maybe that’s just me though. Hopefully with the recognition this movie is getting more recently, McLeach may get brought back into more cameos and roles in the future. It would be very cool if he was made into a boss in Kingdom Hearts for example.
I actually watched the film recently and your opinions basically mirror mine! I was hoping we would look back on the captured animals or see a scene where Cody and his mother reunite, but those were missed opportunities for an otherwise fantastic film! It's funny how McLeach was right when we wont' see the animals ever again, though.
Joanna stealing all of McLeach's eggs is the single most comedic scene in cinematic history and I will die on that hill.
His face when he realizes that he’s been tricked is just perfect! 😂

For that reason alone, my headcanon is that McLeach survived the fall.
Of course, assuming he DID survive the fall, he’ll still have a lot of broken bones from the landing, and he’ll be alone and unarmed. In the Australian Outback. Death by falling would be a mercy in comparison.
Loved this movie as a kid. Cody freeing the eagle is a core memory. It's great to see someone else talking about it!
That razorback dodged a bullet, which was why McCleach yelled at Joanna for a missed opportunity to add to his collection of critters.
This art style reminds me of Lilo and Stitch, the round chubby and curvy shape for characters and the world overall.
The way I personally describe it: the iron giant if it had the art style of Lilo and stitch.
I love lilo and stitch art style
I'm so glad someone else appreciates this movie! I loved it as a kid. (And at the time I didn't even know the original Rescuers existed)
Great video, sorry they blocked it. Keep up the good work!
Sooooo under rated. I grew up loving The Rescuers. Same goes for The Great Mouse Detective.
Oh, I love The Great Mouse Detective!
And An American Tail!
With Eva Gabor dead, they'd need to find a good replacement for Bianca's voice
idk if it's fake one or nah, but they planned third movie, sadly like comment above me says Eva passed away and they canned it, but idk if that was true
Anyone got any story ideas?
Another sequel would have been good in the 90's. Maybe early 2000's. Any later, and it would have been a bad imitation without the same charm and acting quality. Especially if Disney made it these days.
Agreed especially because we KNOW Disney wouldn't bother with 2D animation. I do NOT want to see The Rescuers in CGI. UGH.
Thank you for posting this. I loved this movie. No "princess", but an intriguing story. You are so right about the vast scope of many of the scenes. I remember being drawn in by the flight of the eagle as if I were flying with her.
It's amazing that there's another person who loves the rescuers down under. I love the film. I always get a lot of nostalgia while watching the film.
yea i love this movie
Mcleach is definitely the best part of the movie and he actually introduced me to an old backwoods song that I didn't even know about until I heard him sing it slightly. The song has two names one being "you get a line, I'll get a pole," and the other being the crawdad song so I thank him for introducing me to a great classic backwoods song. I also love every facial expression that McLeach has they are comedic gold every one of them. My favorite one has to be when he sees the golden feather and he smiles wickedly and that face says to me "this boy has a gold feather and he knows where she is and he's definitely going to tell me." That and his truck is definitely a sight to behold with good cgi matched perfectly with a really good and frightening score when his big monster of a truck comes into full view and his truck is definitely the definitions of beastly and all terrain in one and I love it
YEah, in the insanely unlikely event we get a live action remake, he could only be played by ONE man and I won't budge on this one: Ben Mendelsohn!
McLeach definitely had one of the best entrances for a Disney villain. That truck of his is menacing as hell!
This movie has such beautiful music and amazing visuals! Also I totally missed how good the villain was when I was younger! You should do a review of the first movie which also has great music! Also Bianca and Bernard are great characters and a great team! 😊
I love how the third act builds Bernard up as the hero and he saves the day
My animation professor was actually one of the directors of this movie, Hendel Butoy. Such an awesome guy and it was nuts to learn that he was an animator on many of my childhood movies.
The Rescuer’s Down Under used to be my favorite movie!! I’m so glad someone’s covering this.
Thank you!! The Rescuers Down Under is my favourite Disney movie of all time. It's absolutely phenomenal, I love everything about it.
I do like the grand scale of things. And mcleach is probably the best part of the movie
It’s more than enough for us to love The Rescuers Down Under more than most people did for three decades.
Your videos are great, glad UA-cam recommended the wreck it Ralph to me. Keep up the good work
Thanks.
@williamharding730 probably eventually, but not soon, I've got other plans currently.
"The Rescuers Down Under" is an animated masterpiece. It's the only film I regret not seeing at the theater. Joanna, the iguana steals the movie!!
so happy to see one of my childhood favs be brought up again :) as a kid i loooved the realistic way they animated the majestic eagle,,, the music and the way it flies and acts is just marvelous and unforgettable. time to rewatch it again.
Finally someone who actually acknowledges how good this movie actually is, I loved it growing up, way more than the first
I watched this and the rescuers with my brother so many times, we had it on vhs.
@@osmanyousif7849 I said "one of the best", not "the best". No movie is perfect.
@@antwain2799 Man, The Bee Movie...
This is still my favorite Disney movie…. I’m happy to hear that others appreciate it 😊
I always loved this film as a kid, alongside other 90s/early 2000s 'flops' like Atlantis and Treasure Planet. As a side note I think McLeach may have been the inspiration for the design of Sniper in Team Fortress 2.
i was looking for someone to point out this!
This is up there with Mulan as my favorite Disney animated movie.
My favorite scene of all time is Joanna stealing the eggs.
The scene with the mice relaying the message to RAS really stands out. The mice don't say anything and aren't even on screen for very long but they're still so expressive and have personality
The magic of truly great animation.
One of my favorite Disney movies growing up, I saw this before the first one and it is still among my favs.
This was my fave rescuers movie. Everything so pretty to look at loved the villain, story was much more thoght out and planned then the fst one. it is a big shame this movie is not well known I think one of best disney movies out there. and still holds up great today.
Loved this movie as a kid and always will! This movie deserves way more love!
When I was a kid, my fav part of this movie, I liked the part when the bird got tortured at the doctors
I thought the idea of Bernard asking Miss Bianca to marry him was adorable. This was an underrated gem.
Medusa tried to breakdown her self esteem and rob her of her dream of a real loving family and yet…
When she was terrified and drowning in that cave, had the diamond in her hand, she saw her friends were in trouble, and turned around to save them🥹
Penny made me want to be brave & loyal to my friends, and to believe that kindness and help (no matter how small) are always available to those that ask.
THANK YOU. When I was a kid, I didn't know there WAS a first rescuers, I thought this was it. This movie TERRIFIED me, but at the same time I loved it. I would watch this constantly and was so disappointed to find out that so many hadn't watched it. I'm so glad someone's actually talking about this movie!
It would be really cool to have a treasure planet review!
I remember watching this movie over and over again on my vhs player..
@@eebgoz it was also going up against Home Alone.
It did get marketing, it was just marketed at the worst time. Not only was the film having to deal with Little Mermaid's shadow, it was also having to compete with Home Alone, another massively popular film that also happens to be about a kid dealing with criminals.
McLeach may be one of, if not *the* most underrated Disney villain yet.
At least with McLeach gone, they aren't in immediate danger anymore.
Yeah. A childhood favorite of mine. Actually saw THIS before the ORIGINAL!
Both Rescuers movies are *so* underrated and really deserve more praise than they get... kinda like your channel actually.
(also love how you mention McLeach looking like an evil Indiana Jones when the music for the globetrotting sequence reminded me of Indiana Jones so now I'm wondering if that was intentional)
And it's been years but the "did you steal my eggs?" scene still plays regularly in my head and I still drag any big feathers I find across my neck because of this movie.
Thank you for giving this well animated film a chance and good review!!!!!!! It needs to be recognized
Joanna is such an icon and lives rent free in my noggin' 24/7
I wanted to create a video for this movie but, you are alive as well. Respect bro! I 100000% agree. Now I’m gonna listen the ultimate soundtrack of this to get the rare rocky Balboa feeling 👍👍👍
What made the facial expressions of McLeach so good was that they studied George C. Scott as he voiced this character.
I did love these movies as a kid. It’s a shame no one talks about them.
I don’t know if MacLeach would’ve been near as menacing if he wasn’t voiced by the legendary George C Scott, he was great in the role.
BRUCE BROUGHTON WROTE THE MUSIC!
THAT MUSIC REALLY GIVES IT HEART AND SOUL!
Ahhh nothing like a classic rendition of home on the range
The music was gorgeous
Pinocchio & this are personally my favorite of Disney
I LOVED this film as a kid! I’m pretty sure that video wasn’t available at the library half the time because of me.
Ok putting the Skyward Sword music over the clip of him flying on the eagle was brilliant
Rescuers down under has one of the best soundtracks of all Disney movies. The scene with when marhute catches Cody gives me chills every time
This is my literal favorite movie of all time, since I was 2. So happy to see this video and that other people appreciate its amazingness too!!!! ❤❤
I agree that this along with the Rescuers are indeed criminally underrated.
The secret of this movie's animation is named Pixar. They created a system called CAPS for coloring and composting.
wait, 6 months ago you only had 2k subs? That sure did escalate quickly. Great job
I guess it was an inspiration for Thunderbird in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". Beautiful bird
I remembered watching this when I was younger and I was tryna Remember this movie so glad this came up on my recommendation
John Candy and George C Scott gave the two best vocal performances in the film
McLeach is a spot-on caricature including all the facial expressions of his voice actor, legendary George C. Scott.
This guy was peak stranger danger i was so unsettled by him as a child. He's not a super villain he's just a malicious killer.
(I never cared much for the classic fairytales and princess stories, because I grew up on the German originals, so the Disney versions felt kinda off.)
As an adult, and from a writing perspective, I'd agree with you on the flaws of the ending, but tbh, none of that mattered to me as a kid. My brain would just fill in the blanks to my satisfaction.
Hey your really cool and I'm sad about your channel not being a thing in 2020
I just love how so many reviews of this film are so divided, you have people who like it and you have people who hate it.
