To this day I have no idea what he is saying or talking about, but I’ve always loved this tune. My suggestion from this era is “Got You (Where I Want You)” by The Flys.

First time I heard this song was on the radio at work... so long ago I don't care to say, I missed the intro so didn't hear the band or song name, but it hit so hard I straight up called the radio station to ask. Been a favourite ever since, but I'd somewhat forgotten about it. Thanks for bringing it back, gonna go home and learn the guitar part tonight

I think the song fits with the theme of the album name, "Resident Alien", so in the perspective of an alien viewing humanity, letting humans know "we're just like you" and "we love the all, the all of you". That we'll get on their level on day, but _in the meantime_ just enjoy it even if it's rough.
The song really feels like it has a space-y vibe if that makes sense. It feels like I'm blasting away to some faraway planet and won't be coming back for a long time. It makes sense considering how the band is named Spacehog.
This is a quote from Royston Langdon, the lead singer of Spacehog (and the person who wrote the song): "It's me trying to reach people. It's using some kind of metaphor of a worldly or inner-worldly search for the end of isolation, and the acceptance of one's self is in there. At the end of the day it's saying whatever you gotta do, it's OK, it's alright. And I think that's also me talking to myself, getting through my wan anxieties and fear of death. That's what it all comes down to. What's so beautiful about it is that it continues to connect with people." It was recently featured in the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

This band was phenomenal. Mungo City is up there as a fav of mine. They made lot's of great music. Royston Langdon and Chris Cornell were my top rock vocalists from the 90s/early 2000s
This is a great tune. I remember when this came out. It was always played on MTV. Geez... I'm dating myself by the fact I remember MTV only playing videos lol. I haven't heard the CD this came from in ages. This makes me want to listen again.

I remember seeing them and Fuel live at a local joint here before any of them went big - 5 bucks admission and while this song was pretty good....Fuel was downright awesome. No one ever heard of these guys.

1-hit wonder but this song will outlive the cockroaches. The video gets better with time. Pay attention to some of the visuals and filled with a lot of the freaky deaky. But the song, man, is eternal.
