Something that was missing in this movie from the previous movies is that there's no post credit 70s/80s music video. Also in the We're the Millers movie, Adam Warlock's character got his nuts bitten by a giant spider, there was a joke if he'd get super powers, guess it turned him into a golden boy. As HISHE pointed out, why Peter didn't activate his helmet on. He still needs to be rescued because he's drifting to an exploding ship so Adam still needs to save him. Also realized, if Counter Earth was blown up, the High Evolutionary's ship was leaving to go to another planet for Batch91. So that means there's Counter Earth II that's out there that Batch91 can move for the new home world as their new colony.

The first GOTG was my mom’s favorite comic book movie ever, sadly she passed away from cancer complications in 2015 at just 65 years old. What hooked her to the movie at first was the soundtrack of many of the songs she grew up on, but then she loved it so much that she became a fan of the MCU. This is definitely one of my favourite MCU movies from phase five so far because of the story as well as seeing Rocket’s tragic backstory. Fun fact, you may recognize Daniela Melchior who plays the new character Ura, because she previously worked with James Gunn on The Suicide Squad movie back in 2021, and the character Lylla is voiced by Linda Cardellini, who’s well known as Hawkeye’s wife Laura from the Hawkeye miniseries.
one of your favorite out of two phase five movies released so far? Wow, the bar couldnt have been set higher xD You could just wrote that you like this movie more than Quantumania and it would mean the same thing xD But tbh - its probably one of the best mcu movies to me. Beats two first guardians movies easily as well. I think its top 3 mcu movies for me, right next to Iron Man and Endgame.
Star-Lord (Peter Jason Quill) is a fictional character and superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan, the character first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 (January 1976).
Glad you guys loved it! After watching this I kind of thought Nebula and Quill were starting to develop some feelings there, lol. It's just not the right time to pursue yet. I also completely understood why Quill went back for his Zune since that was a final gift from Yondu. If he was willing to fight all the guards in the prison from the first movie to grab his Mom's player, then it's not hard to believe that he would risk his life to get his Dad's.
I don’t want Star-Lord to have another love interest yet, but I’m like 99% sure Nova is gonna debut & join the Guardians after Thanos decimated Xandar right before Infinity War. Richard Rider & Gamora become a thing in the comics and that could’ve been an interesting temporary fling before Quill & Gamora ended up reunited after some development across the next GOTG trilogy (like symbiote Spider-Man hopefully dating Black Cat before finding MJ again after his college trilogy). I’m glad they didn’t get back together immediately, but we’re likely not gonna see any of that since Zoe Saldana seems to be done playing Gamora. It’s unfortunate because I feel there’s so much more they could’ve explored with that character. I worry the franchise just won’t be as unique without the OG cast & James Gunn.
This movie worked for me in every way and honestly might be my favorite of the year. Loved how dark it got and how much they let Gunn get away with. Ironically, some of my favorite moments weren't in your reaction ("There is no god, that's why I stepped in!", the Yondu cameo for Kraglin, and that amazing hallway one shot), but glad you guys enjoyed this movie as much as I did. Also, the Holiday Special is absolutely worth a watch (maybe this Christmas hehe), Werewolf by Night is AWESOME, and Secret Invasion is really really solid so far. Even if you don't watch all of She-Hulk, at least watch episode 8 (trust me). Thanks for waiting to react to this one!
Love how they show the alternate Gamora shown so happy with her ravager family driving the point she isn't our Gamora. The villain was great in this movie. You have to now watch the Holiday Special.
Finally! I was waiting for a reaction to this movie once it came on digital and little to no one had reacted to it yet. I’m so glad you guys are one of the first.
And the only one I've seen so far that doesn't think they're funnier than the actual movie and gives it space. People have no idea what makes a good reaction these days. Definitely enjoyed this one!
The more I thought about Peter's grandpa the sadder I got. That man lost his daughter and grandson in the same night. We likely wasn't even able to grieve his daughter's death because surely someone noticed Peter was gone and then had to re-focus to searching for him and then years of not actually knowing what happened to him. So to see his grandpa's reaction to him coming home really hit me.
17:55 nebula and rocket were the only ones not dead during the snap, they only had each other for a long time so it makes sense that they have a connection.
I discovered only the other day that James Gunn confirmed that Groot is technically "the son" of Groot 🤷 OG Groot died at the end of Guardians 1 branching himself out and when the twig is planted and Groot grows, that is considered to be an entirely new individual with his own personality and body type etc... Hence the drastic difference in styles. I had always thought groot re-grew from the twig, turns out an entirely new Groot was born from it instead. It is totally possible that this is only new news to me tho 😂 but figured I'd share just incase.
I mean there’s nothing in the MCU that is so bad you shouldn’t watch it once to stay caught up, even as just background noise for doing something else. Also if you’re legit fatigued of Marvel content, get other fucking hobbies
Fun fact for you guys; but James Gunn confirm that we are able to understand Group now since we spent so much time with him. So technically, he did say I am Groot, but now we can understand what he saying.
After Phase 4 and some of the projects being dissapointed i was scared for Guardians but i never lost hope for them to be honest. I knew the movie was about to be peak and it was! Can't believe it ended and we won't see them again. The movie hit everything. Action, emotion. Backstory of Rocket was so sad and terrified. And the reference when Groot says ''I love you guys'' is actually confirmed by James Gunn that this happened, because we aleady understands what Groot says. We spend so much years with them, so we became one. We became family and we finally understands what Groot is saying, which is pretty good detail and i love it.
In addition to the general comments, I also love how they expanded on Mantis’s character. Not only is she able to temporarily manipulate other people’s feelings, not just making them sleep, but her heart as far as her closeness to Quill and also stepping up to Nebula to defend Drax was so meaningful. Plus she was able to befriend the Abilisks, which were created before the High Evolutionary knew how to make timid creatures.
Gotg vol 3 is just one big masterpiece of emotions I cried 5 times in the cinema Rockets background story is heartbreaking 10/10 James knew what he was doing and breaking our hearts like this
The scene where he saves the little Racoons WITH the key that he made to save his friends in a similar situation just broke my heart I died crying in that scene, so good.
You guys must watch the 2 specials. They're one of the best MCU projects in Phase 4, both unique that prove that you can tell a great story even with shortened length.
Another thing I loved about this movie was the cameos , the girl who gets held hostage by gamaora is actually ratcatcher from suicide squad, the girl who gets shot by gamora in the thigh is James guns wife who plays harcourt in peacemaker and the head guard who talks to Peter plays the detachable kid in suicide squad And can’t forget murn
Definitely need to watch the Guardians Christmas special, guys. It's so much fun 😁👍 And by the way, in the comics Adam Warlick had the Soul Gem in his forehead. One of the many things the MCU altered from the source material! 🙄
I’ve really been looking so forward to watching reactions to this movie so bad. And I’m honestly happy you guys are the first guardians 3 reaction I’m watching. Love you both! And excited to get to the end of this. Hope y’all love this as much as I did
Words cannot describe how awesome this movie is the acting is some of the best I ever seen from marvel and the humor doesn’t take away any of the dark moments James Gunn gave the guardians the perfect sendoff
Oh yeah, not seeing the Holiday Special definitely made a few things or 2 in this movie big surprises for you! I think you guys will enjoy Secret Invasion. It is really different than anything the MCU has done before. The closest in tone is probably the Jack Ryan series mixed with some Captain America: Winter Soldier & Marvel's Agents of Shield. I quite enjoyed Ms. Marvel & think it is their "replacement" for Spider-Man. It was charming and playful and fun without being cheesy. I really enjoyed Hawkeye a lot. I think the MCU is getting ready to do a Young Avengers to replace all the MCU characters we now know. I did not think Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was THAT bad. Yes, it was not among the best MCU movies and the quality did dip and it did not meet expectations, but I still liked it. I think it was overhyped a bit too much, but judging it on its own merit, I still had fun with it. I also liked it more than the previous Ant-Man sequel. MoonKnight is pretty cool too. I see WandaVision, MoonKnight, Werewolf by Night and Secret Invasion as the MCU slowly getting us prepared bit-by-bit for the MCU ready to go much darker in, for example, Deadpool 3 and their version of Blade and DareDevil: Born Again. If the rumors are true, if I were you, I would watch the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie and Jennifer Garner's Elektra movies. I see all the MCU Disney+ shows as well as all of Phase 4 movies to be the MCU experimenting with different styles and tones and just seeing what works and what does not. The MCU was getting hammered after Avengers Endgame by people accusing it of just copying and pasting all their movies and following the same formula. I vehemently disagreed with that sentiment, but nonetheless, I think Disney+ was their way of changing things up and trying new things. I see Falcon & Winter Soldier & Black Widow to be more traditional MCU flavor, but everything else was experimental. Shang-Gi was more martial arts, The Eternals was more drama and Thor: Love & Thunder was more goofy comedy. I think that was all intentional. Even She-Hulk had its good fun moments, even though overall, I will likely only want to really see a few episodes of that season again. But, if there is a season 2, I will watch it. Bottom line is I am still glad I got to see everything. Even if it was not all my cup of tea, so to speak, it still was all an enjoyable experience story-wise that I do not regret having seen.
Cool Fact: the high resolution is actually still alive, the director james gunn said that when they where trying to escape the ship, you can see drax carrying him.
This has to be the only movie where I haven’t hated a villain more just omg the actor killed it & I love Rocket even more. This was really damn good & the music is always great !
I never, ever thought I'd get weepy watching a hug between a raccoon, a human, and a tree. 😌 This movie was SO good, and a perfect send-off for the Guardians. I was thoroughly invested in Rocket's backstory, and that scene with the little raccoons and Rocket required about five tissues. The combination of action, humor and heart is a hallmark of the Guardians movies. Also, although I completely agree with you about recent MCU movies and shows ranging from so-so to bad (with a couple exceptions), I strongly encourage you to watch the Guardians Christmas Special, and Werewolf By Night. The Guardians special is hilarious and has the usual heart, and WBN is absolutely one of the best things Marvel has done, in my humble opinion. Great reactions you two!
This movie was so emotional and made me feel sad but at the same time happy to feel like I'm part of this group too by "understanding" what Groot says in the end in my opinion this is the best MCU trilogy.
Groot didn't speak English at the end. He said "I am Groot". Every one who spends enough time with him understands him. Like the new Gamora understands him in the end of the movie . When Groot says "I love you guys" in the end, This time it’s us, the audience, who are finally able to understand what he mean.
Peter Quill/Star Lord definitely was in the comics. I am pretty sure all of the guardian team members were in the comics in some form or another, at one time or another. They were not created for film but adapted for it.
6:10 Star-Lord wasn't a character written for the movies he was also a Guardians member in the comics. 6:15 his treatment wasn't given to Vision they just both had infinity stones in their head. In this movie it's a bolt since the infinity stones were destroyed but Adam Warlock and Thanos are so tied together especially since they showed the soul realm in Infinity War and that's Warlock's thing so they really should have introduced him in the Infinity Saga
0:45 This arguments seems weird because you haven't give them a chance, holiday special of guardians is amazing and Wereworlf of the night too! Ms. Marvel and She Hulk depends on your taste but they have good moments and Secret Invasion is really mature and i believe you would like it
Groots final form at the end is just how he naturally is, Groots species feed off of power to grow, so between Groot spending time with Star Lord (when he was still half celestial), Thor, Adam Warlock etc, he fed off their power and grew to the massive size at the end. That is also how groot appears in the comics too.
How dare you prefer a well edited and entertaining reaction!! Can’t you just enjoy 50mins of extremely loud eardrum blowing screech-like sounds and laughs instead???? 😂😂
Fun Fact: James Gunn, Chukwuji Iwuji, and a VFX artist confirmed that the High Evolutionary was spared by the Guardians. He’s not dead, just locked in a cell
When the High Evolutionary imitated Rocket's screams of grief after Lylla is killed reminded me of Ted Levine doing the same as Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs .
Since you guys didn’t watch the Holiday Special, following their time with Thor the Guardians buy Knowhere from the Collector. In the process, Cosmo joins the team. And Mantis being Star-Lord’s half-sister was something that was cut from Volume 2. She confided that in Drax way back then. In the MCU timeline, that was about a decade ago. At least Peter admitted to screwing up in Infinity War. I also thought I recognized the actor portraying Theel. Nico Santos portrayed Mateo Liwanag in Superstore. My favorite funny moment was Mantis’ powers in Orgocorp. @20:14 that’s exactly what Chukwudi Iwuji was going for. He genuinely wants us to hate the High Evolutionary. I certainly do. My favorite fight scenes were Star-Lord and Groot gunslinging and then of course the Guardians fighting together one last time with No Sleep Till Brooklyn playing in the background. (I hope they do something like that in the next season of Cobra Kai, especially if they bring back Salazar.) James Gunn confirmed that the High Evolutionary is still alive. They took him into custody on Knowhere. It’s all in a deleted scene. And finally, Come And Get Your Love by Redbone helps bring the Guardians’ journey full circle.
Y'all should definitely watch Secret Invasion because the acting has been phenomenal and on par with the old Captain America movies to me as far as raw emotion goes.
Actress Mikaela Hoover who voiced Floor did a phenomenal job. I rarely get emotional or attached to characters in a movie, much less animated ones. But she really did break my heart with "Rocket, Teefs, Floor Go Now!" Such a simple line, but she put so much pain and fear into it, that for a moment, I could feel true sympathy for her character. As one commenter pointed out, Floor's rabbit instincts were telling her to run, but she couldn't leave her family, so she ran in a circle begging them to go. I'm surprised that Hoover hasn't done more that I've heard about, she has talent.
When the 1st Guardians movie came out I had little expecations when I went to see it since they were the Marvel characters I knew the least about prior to seeing them on the big screen. I ended up loving the 1st film, the 2nd film, & the 3rd film so much that to me it's the overall best movie trilogy Marvel has made.
Theres a theory about why Floor wanted to be named Floor. In the movie youll notice that Floor walks not with her own legs hut with stilts that are held onto her spine. The theory is that this causes extreme amount of pain whenever she is stands on those metal arms. This is why she calls herself Floor, because it relieves pain when she lays on the floor
Guardians Vol. 3 was the best Marvel movie alongside Shang-Chi and No Way Home since Endgame. James Gunn went bonkers on this film and made the best Marvel trilogy in my opinion. ❤
Rocket Raccoon is definitely the real star (not to mention the TRUE heart) of Vol. 3, which is quite incredible considering the fact that he doesn't appear as much but you can still feel his presence even if he isn't there.
13:32 Danielle Melchior is one of the most gorgeous women I've seen in a comic-based movie as Rat Catcher in the 2021 The Suicide Squad, and I never even recognized her in this movie until after I got home. Many directors and producers are known to work with specific actors and such. Aside from High Evolutionary played by Chukwudi Iwuji (Peacemaker), remember that Nathan Filion (12:51) was also Arms Fall Off Boy in the beginning of The Suicide Squad, along with Sylvester Stallone voicing King Shark, and Michael Rooker (Yondu) was in Brightburn, which was also directed by James Gunn, as the news reporter exposing the "Evil Justice League" characters (I think it was a diss towards the Snyderverse).
Fun fact: In the comics, the High Evolutionary was the one responsible for giving Scarlet Witch her powers due to him experimenting on her mutant gene along with supernatural influence. Also he didn't die in the movie. You can see him getting dragged off the ship and in a deleted scene is put in a cage by Rocket. Also i would highly recommend Werewolf By Night especially for Halloween
I'd recommend watching Secret Invasion, actually. Of the recent MCU projects it's one of the good ones. It's in the tone of shows like Homeland or The Expanse but mixed into the MCU with a "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" flavor.
You skipped the first time someone used an actual swear word in the MCU. When Nebula struggles getting in the car and Peter says now get in the fucking car it’s the first time that anyone was allowed to swear in the MCU which is a fun fact I love.
The Guardians’ Holiday Special and Werewolf By Night are actually great projects! The Holiday Special had me tearing up and WBN is a great homage to old school monster movies
Watching this, I realize more depth to the line "Everybody's got dead people, it's no excuse to get everyone else dead along the way" which Rocket says to Drax in Volume 1. Here, Rocket reacts to Lylla's death by lashing out against the High-evolutionary instead of focusing on escaping with Teefs and Floor. That's what gets the other two killed. If he had just focused on escaping with them instead of thinking about Lylla, maybe they could've been saved. Truly a tragic fate.

@@macariojasminlabog2763 well I wasn't going to mention spoiler details since, as I said, they haven't seen that...
I never made that connection!
Jennifer Holland (also from TSS and Peacemaker) was the controller Gamora shot in the leg.
@@GengrelI forgot about that, too. And thanks for mentioning it because I didn’t know she was in it when I went to see GOTG 3 in theatres.
@@Gengrel that is why she looked familiar!
@@Gengrelshe’s James Gunn’s wife if I’m not mistaken
one of your favorite out of two phase five movies released so far? Wow, the bar couldnt have been set higher xD You could just wrote that you like this movie more than Quantumania and it would mean the same thing xD But tbh - its probably one of the best mcu movies to me. Beats two first guardians movies easily as well. I think its top 3 mcu movies for me, right next to Iron Man and Endgame.
It is darker, yet still keeps around the same amount of comedy as the first movie. It was a bittersweet happy ending which I enjoyed
in the christmas special and this, drax says "dancing is for idiots" but dads do idiot things for their kids
when groot said "i love you guys" i started crying because it was so beautiful
Hope they never do that
I don’t want Star-Lord to have another love interest yet, but I’m like 99% sure Nova is gonna debut & join the Guardians after Thanos decimated Xandar right before Infinity War.
Classic Apple comment
My favorite funny part of the movie was the whole " now what do i do?" "open the fucking door"
I saw GOTG Vol 3 in theaters with my best friend who knew nothing about it. Me & him both loved it. It was so good.
Yeah the holiday special, werewolf by night, and secret invasion are actually pretty good so I recommend checking those ones out
I mean there’s nothing in the MCU that is so bad you shouldn’t watch it once to stay caught up, even as just background noise for doing something else.
Also if you’re legit fatigued of Marvel content, get other fucking hobbies
They can skip Secret Invasion...nothing good came out of that
@@BasicBodThor yeah I thought it was decent the first couple episodes but then it just kept getting worse
I thought What If was amazing
"He already had my heart but now he's taking my whole heart".....Real shi right there.
I like how at the end we as the audience know groot enough to understand him.
The editing game for this reaction was FIRE. Great job y'all.
Fun fact for you guys; but James Gunn confirm that we are able to understand Group now since we spent so much time with him. So technically, he did say I am Groot, but now we can understand what he saying.
never been more happy to hear "but not yet" 34:45
"The Legendary Star-Lord will return" makes sense now. There has been word about a standalone Star-lord project.❤
Darker but that’s how they get people to never forget the movie. Really nice. I love it.
Oh, man. She Hulk and Werewolf by Night are frivkkon AWESOME!
Gotg vol 3 is just one big masterpiece of emotions I cried 5 times in the cinema
Rockets background story is heartbreaking
10/10 James knew what he was doing and breaking our hearts like this
The scene where he saves the little Racoons WITH the key that he made to save his friends in a similar situation just broke my heart I died crying in that scene, so good.
You guys must watch the 2 specials. They're one of the best MCU projects in Phase 4, both unique that prove that you can tell a great story even with shortened length.
Another thing I loved about this movie was the cameos , the girl who gets held hostage by gamaora is actually ratcatcher from suicide squad, the girl who gets shot by gamora in the thigh is James guns wife who plays harcourt in peacemaker and the head guard who talks to Peter plays the detachable kid in suicide squad
And can’t forget murn
Good point
In that clip you showed where the place blew up, that was _Asgard_ , not Knowhere.
Adam Warlock was such a child and I fucking loved it! 😂😂😂
Finally! I’ve been waiting for ppl to react to this movie
Emotionally and storytelling wise this is the best mcu movies for me so far. In epicness still nothing beats final war of endgame.
“Rocket, Teefs, Floor go now” will forever be burned into my head and make me an emotional wreck for the rest of my life
Absolutely top tier MCU
Cool Fact: the high resolution is actually still alive, the director james gunn said that when they where trying to escape the ship, you can see drax carrying him.
Secret invasion is actually incredible

This movie was incredible!!!!!! James Gunn always nails the emotion!
Ms. Marvel and She Hulk depends on your taste but they have good moments and Secret Invasion is really mature and i believe you would like it
I hope we see Nebula and Groot again. They’re my favorite and Groot was so awesome in this film! Love the big blue meanie 💜
The peter quill nebula was carrying in the beginning was actually a realistic silicone doll of chris pratt
The MCU shows were mostly really good. Secret Invasion is great.
31:34 That wasn't flying. That was falling with style.
“I understood that reference.”
Has no one else brought up how the coolest scene in this movie was completely edited out! WTF!
This is definitely the best movie of the year so far! I experienced every emotion. It was truly the perfect send off for the original team. 😢
James Gunn was told he could do whatever he wanted with the Guardians…
So he gave them a happy ending.
When the High Evolutionary imitated Rocket's screams of grief after Lylla is killed reminded me of Ted Levine doing the same as Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs .
This is my favorite MCU film. It made me feel so many emotions in a good way.
(I hope they do something like that in the next season of Cobra Kai, especially if they bring back Salazar.)
James Gunn confirmed that the High Evolutionary is still alive.

Now that SI has ended it's pretty safe to say it SUCKED big time.
I was a mess in the theaters. I truly love the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. Love the reaction guys....Nimona next?👀
I'm surprised that Hoover hasn't done more that I've heard about, she has talent.
at the end groot really should have said "mi familia" so both franchies can run forever
Karen Gillian played her part like she was secretly crushing on Peter, I ship them.
Oh my god that is so sad… I’m gonna cry again. Hits even harder for me because it hurts for me to walk sometimes.
Star Lord is very underrated , he's very strong and smart , He is definitely one of my favorite characters in the mcu
James Gunn said that we heard "I love you guys" as groot, cause we as viewers understand what he says just like the guardians.
Guardians Vol. 3 was the best Marvel movie alongside Shang-Chi and No Way Home since Endgame. James Gunn went bonkers on this film and made the best Marvel trilogy in my opinion. ❤
The best part is when Rocket says I'm through running.
Rocket Raccoon is definitely the real star (not to mention the TRUE heart) of Vol. 3, which is quite incredible considering the fact that he doesn't appear as much but you can still feel his presence even if he isn't there.
49:24 I think hate is a too strong word, i just disagree. IMO just because they haven't impacted or shown ramifications YET, doesn't make them filler.
15:14 Oh, James Gunn's wife Jennifer Holland who played Harcourt in Peacemaker.
Groot isnt flying he is... falling with style.
YOU..ARE..A..TOYYY! 🤣
When Adam Warlock saved Peter, they mimicked the famous Adam touching God painting.
This has taken my place as one of my favorite MCU movies, it's a shame that this is supposedly gonna be the last James Gunn MCU Movie
That rocket scene in the after life hit me hard i wish to see my family again
Wait, did Anthony just say you two worked at a movie theater together? Is that how you two met? 😂
Yes 😂
The Guardians’ Holiday Special and Werewolf By Night are actually great projects! The Holiday Special had me tearing up and WBN is a great homage to old school monster movies
As a Dallasite, I have to say that I agree with your hat!
This one definitely touches the feelers. It allergies i swear.
