first heard it thought scott is really punchin there oh its not pilots good work Spacehog lol yeah its magic man singing it right now wake up currabubula
And my dad thought I was weird for liking a band called SpaceHog in 1995. He’s gone now, but my love for this band has never faded. Straight up got chills when I heard the hook in the GotG trailer. Just awesome stuff.
Just gotta keep lookin'. I agree that most of the mainstream stuff isn't timeless like those other decades, but there's really good stuff out there yet.
Yep. The talent in the 90's was unbelievable and so many continue creating amazing music still today. Be it Beastie Boys, Radiohead,Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones Nine inch Nails RHCP Local H Foo Fighters Tool A Perfect Circle Alice in Chains Beck Queens of the Stone Age Radiohead Primus PHISH You can add dozens more that are still producing amazing music Clearly the greatest decade for pure widespread musical talent.
Yeah movies and tv shows are introducing me to amazing songs from before my time and the comments on the music are acting like that’s a bad thing just because of how I found the song
That intro is one of the most 90's sounding riffs ever. I'll always love this song for being able to take me back to a time of toys, cartoons, and cereal.
Burt Reynolds ehhh I gotta disagree for the toys category. It might be all technology now, but the remakes are 100% better quality now. Cartoons were pretty good throughout 90’s-early 2010’s. Now they kinda suck. Cereal is just cereal.
Born in the 70's, 80's decade was my childhood, and the 90's were my teenage years. Definitely a fun time that I didn't fully appreciate enough at the time I was living it. Too rushed to become grown thinking of the next century is going to be so cool not knowing the Now was the most important time
@@John-os2kl Where you said "Now was the most important time" gave me the chills. You are so right and I didn't realize it either growing up in the 80's and 90's
@@Jenh-dz9te 80s and 90s kid here as well and I don't think many of us realized how good we had it at the time:( though I was always afraid to "grow up " and tried to live in the moment as much as possible, it seemed to fly by. I was shocked when I read a comment that mentioned this song is 27 years old lol that doesn't feel possible!
Core memory unlocked. I remember my brother picking me up from school in his Miata and he’d be blasting this out of the parking lot. I forgot about those times…man i miss the 90s
That is one reason of many why music is important. More proof of this is playing music for the elderly with dementia they will start to recall things about the music they loved when they were young.
After watching the trailer I don’t see how the movie can fail. At worst it’s gonna be decent but I think the more serious tone will only do it justice.
@@SeanHitch lesser known? Lol this song was a damn hit and it was played everywhere. Maybe you didn’t know about this song but this song is extremely well known trust me
I've been searching for this song for over a decade now. Could be close to 2 decades. I always remembered the melody but not the lyrics and I had no idea who sang/played it. The GoTG 3 trailer is the reason I finally found it.
Same here! Such a brilliant version of this song on the trailer, I got a shiver down my spine when I realised what I was hearing. So happy to see Spacehog getting this sort of attention again!
haha I'm just glad it led me to the actual name, cuz by god these guys didn't get a lot of name-dropping in that era so I never knew who sang the "Wooh-oooh-oooo-ooooo-ooooohhhhh!" song until now, lol.
Gotta thank James Gunn for introducing great music to the younger generation like myself, considering that this song is older than me, being born in the late 90's. Wouldn't have discovered it otherwise ❤
I was born 2004 and for some reason old songs long before I was born just hits different, that’s one reason why the guardians of the galaxy trilogy now is my favorite mcu trilogy
I was born in 2003. I have the same reaction. For some reason old songs hit me different. I love how James Gunn did the film. Oh and the music is brilliant
This song always feels like it starts in 1995, enters a time machine, and exits as a lost track from The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
Timeless, but In The Meantime! Woo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Woo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Woo-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Woo-ooh-ooh-ooh And in the end, we shall achieve in time The thing they called divine When all the stars will smile for me When all is well and well is all for all And forever after Well, maybe in the meantime, wait and see We love the all, the all of you Where lands are green and skies are blue When all in all, we're just like you We love the all of you And when I cry for me, I cry for you With tears of holy joy For all the days, you've still to come And did I ever say I'd never play Or fly toward the sun Maybe in the meantime something's gone We love the all, the all of you Where lands are green and skies are blue When all in all, we're just like you We love the all of you That sounds fine, so I'll see ya sometime Give my love to the future of the humankind Okay, okay, it's not okay While it's on my mind, there's a girl who fits the crime For a future love dream that I'm still to find But in the meantime We love the all, the all of you Where lands are green and skies are blue When all in all, we're just like you We love the all of you We love the all, the all of you Where lands are green and skies are blue When all in all, we're just like you We love the all of you, yeah We love the all, the all of you Lands are green and skies are blue Just like you Just like you Just like, just like Just like you Just like you Just like you Just like, just like Just like you
"And in the end, we shall achieve in time The thing they called divine When all the stars will smile for me When all is well and well is all for all And forever after Well, maybe in the meantime, wait and see" Right to the core. Lost my wife last year to illness. Couldn't have hit it any better on the head.

In 1996, my dad and I got season tickets to The Columbus Crew soccer team. I was 9 and we lived about an hour and a half away. Whoever decided to end this song with the piano outro was a genius. I think a lot of us would have been fulfilled without it. That is... until we heard it.

Can't compare it to the 70s as styles change but the 90s were total kick ass. And I came of age in the 70s. Let's just agree that great art is timeless like the above song.
i graduated high school in June of 95 and that summer I took a job working at a Taco Bell overnight. This sound would always play at 3am and Id sit and watch out the window at the sleeping town I lived in
Saw Royston open for The Fixx and then again as part of the David Bowie experience w Adrien Belew and Todd Rundgren- due is very talented. Just looks completely different. Man I LOVE this song.
I remember loving this song when I was 7-8 (not really knowing why) went GOTG today and was transported back in time, and I'm here again now.. That's the power of music, thanks James Gunn.
Unexpected? So, you think the GOTG3 trailer using this song was done without the band's knowledge? They're seeing it at the same time as us? They didn't work out contracts and royalties when/before the trailer was being edited? Really?
@@ghostofyourmom that isn't nearly as far fetched as you think. Alot of corporations own the publishing rights to songs and can use songs for media without permission from the song writers. Disney being the large media company that it is owns the rights to Alot of songs. I highly doubt every song featured in the guardian of the galaxy trilogy was used with approval from the writers. Publishing rights and writing credits are not the same thing.
@Lin Zhaolong I'm not overthinking anything. Some people don't understand how the music business works which is OK. Now I don't know about this case in particular, but it's not crazy to think the band didn't expect this to happen. Many media companies own the publishing rights to songs while the band or individual song writer doesn't. It's extremely common, although it is becoming less common since bands aren't as reliant on record companies anymore. It's completely possible this song was put into guardians of the galaxy 3 without the band having any knowledge of it. That being said, they may have known about it too. All I know is that songs get used for media purposes all the time without the original song writers not giving permission. The rights to songs are split into a few different categories, and publishing is one of them, and a lot of times a company owns the publishing rights.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Lift Me Up by Rihanna Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 - In the Meantime by Spacehog Marvel always rocks with awesome music in their movies and teaser trailers.

I think this is the first 90s music in GOTG because Quill always using his mom's playlist from the 60s-70s, but now he got Zune since 2014 which can just play any songs.
Imagine trying to find this song with only a vague memory of how it sounded, with only the chorus "WoooOOOoooOOoOoooo" and the guitar riff to go on... took me a while
The telephone tone is a sample of the track "Telephone and Rubberband" by the "Penguin Cafe Orchestra". Really quite different musically...I have time for both.
I know what you mean. There was a video on MTV in the mid 90's with the guy dancing around in what looked like goat pants. I know I liked the song, but cannot remember any lyrics other than it was maybe something about a dream or dreaming. Every few years I try to find it, but have not been successful yet.
Man I’m so proud to have lived during these times. Watch this video reminds me of when this is how people were and who they were and not because it’s was something trendy they learned about on Instagram.
John Robinson maybe one day humans will learn how to be space hogs and we will move in a synchronous harmony to what ever authentic future we desire and commit to. The tools we use today seem to have shaped this narrative, we just need to create better ones to get back to the essence of what we felt during our best and most favorite moments. The odds of my optimism is slim but there is still a chance-either way let’s never forget, and keep pushing forward for the best and with our inference of what we experienced in our time.
My younger brother talked me into going to see Hollywood Undead in a couple months. My gut tells me that they'll be awful live. If my gut is correct, I'm going to think of this comment.

That's how I discovered a few gems from yesteryears, thanks to the good movies playing great music..

KROQ.... Rock of the 80's!
That intro is one of the most 90's sounding riffs ever. I'll always love this song for being able to take me back to a time of toys, cartoons, and cereal.

@@jacoboribilik3253 Yeah, but they're shit today. The 80's were the best era for toys, cereal and cartoons.
Burt Reynolds ehhh I gotta disagree for the toys category. It might be all technology now, but the remakes are 100% better quality now. Cartoons were pretty good throughout 90’s-early 2010’s. Now they kinda suck. Cereal is just cereal.

Publishing rights and writing credits are not the same thing.
you guys are thinking too much into Tony's comment. He is sayin Spacehog is going to make a windfall
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Lift Me Up by Rihanna
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John

John Robinson maybe one day humans will learn how to be space hogs and we will move in a synchronous harmony to what ever authentic future we desire and commit to. The odds of my optimism is slim but there is still a chance-either way let’s never forget, and keep pushing forward for the best and with our inference of what we experienced in our time.
