• Closing thoughts:
o On wrist - Neo-Vintage JDM 39mm Speedmaster vibes, in a VERY good way and improved with 20mm lugs vs. 18mm on the Speedy
o Model Variants - Check site for options and availability
o Comparable models - In a sea of vintage motorsports inspired Meca-Quartz competition, the R1 Oceanracer rises above competitors combining handsome design with a higher grade of execution than you’d typically expect in a quartz wristwatch under $500
o Bottom-line - Vaer have been stepping their game up and the R1 Oceanracer Chrono is another example of how serious they’re taking each new release and clearly making an effort to over-deliver for their customers
Much more lively than the 1st gen R1 chronograph.
Might have to pick one up. For the budget racing inspired chronographs. I still have to Nezumi and Forzo are the top Dogs. Seiko speedtimer is great as well.. but steep $600 price is a bummer.
I have this watch and I am very happy with it. Mine is the 42mm version.
on the 42mm the bezel doesnt rotate right?
@@tonyzeno2715 it does rotate, in one direction
Good show Mark. As for this watch…24 hr. sub dial = Instant Deal Killer. Thanks! BTW VK -67 with a 12 hr totalizer is WAY more historically correct. And, go surfing and check every chrono with a mechanical movement that are tri-compax. No 24 hr dial.
Ive said this as well.. for all the makers of Chronographs out there.. I would much rather see a moonphase comp instead of lame 24hr sub... its a wasted comp/space
