I like the humble attitude. Hate reviewers that act like know it all. Did not bash the company's hard work but at the same time pointed out what can be done better in a professional manner. True gentleman. Good review.
I really like it. I am a fan of the mechaquartz movements. I like the 100 m of water resistance and saphire crystal too. I think it's decent value especially with 100 m WR.
I have this watch. It's great if you're ok with meca quartz. Mine is a black dial, so legability is good. It's got a great vintage vibe but with modern materials and tech.
Thanks for the review. The R1 came out better than I expected. I have baby wrists, so won't buy any analog watch larger than 38mm. I really appreciate the 12.2mm height of this watch. That is the major benefit of mecaquartz in this application. A mechanical movement would add 3mm to the height (meaning it wouldn't fit under the cuff), and the only mechanical chronograph movement I know of that would fit this diameter case would be a SeaGull.
@@MrRed0135 I did not. My wrist is 6 1/3". The lug to lug on the 38mm diameter version of this watch is 46mm. You would be hard pressed to find a watch in this size with a shorter lug to lug measurement. Day to day, I have come to favor 36mm watches or a square g-shock.
There's a pretty large spot above "l" and "y" letters of the "assembly" word, another small one below "30" of the seconds' dial, the lume bars applied unevenly on several hour marks, the hour marks themselves have spots all over them, the pair of hour marks at the 12 position are of different sizes (and again lume applied unevenly even there), there's another minor dot just above the hour 2 mark -- for this price range the quality control seems surprisingly scarce.
I love the look of this watch and have been conflicted about which case size would be best for my 7.25" wrist. Did you feel like the 38mm was proportioned well for your larger wrist. I'm also big on lume. How long does the lume last after significant exposure to light sources? Great review, thanks.
I just got the 38mm as I don't have a large wrist, but I'm returning it for the 42mm. I don't like the "oversized" watches that many people wear today, but the 38mm face would've the smallest in my collection. I'll send an update when I get the 42mm.

I have their D5 Pacific diver, and I love it!
Very good looking watch. Those subdials look great
Great watch. Even better on a rallye strap.
They also have a lot of Swiss watches. Nice. A little expensive but easy to get discounts with these guys. And the customer service is great
This is a really sharp looking watch. Would prefer it at $300 rather than $400 though.
its now 20% off as I type

Look great... kind a mix between a vostok and a chronograph

How big is your wrist? I have 6.25 in wrist and I’ve been thinking of buying this watch. Did you end up buying it ?

Because of the color choices, it makes me think of the Maen Skymaster Grey. It's actually pretty nice, but i think i'll wait for the Maen to come out.
complete different attitude style of watch
So the basic time hands are run by the mechanical aspect and the chronograph feature is quartz?
Crash hat is awesome where can we score one?
Like the look. Wish it was an automatic movement
Nice watch
Vaery nice

@@hellerjon1 Thanks for the info and I look forward to an update regarding the 42mm.
@@tobyhayes611 just got the 42mm and I’m much happier with it.
Thanks for the update. I'm guessing I'd like the 42mm better as well.
I wish £ wasn't so weak against $, as I'd really like one of their US made watches.
What they lack is an efficient customer care support which is saddening.
I'm not interested in meca -quartz & the name looks off they need a logo .
