That was the best explanation. Short simple sweet and right to the point. My father was Mark Richardson the head training councillor of the nra for many years and he was one of the best instructor ive had tbe pleasure of learning under. Not just because he was my father but because he was just so good at explaining things that no matter your experience or level of knowledge you could always come away learning something new and it was always exciting to learn more. Never a dull moment. My father passed 6 months and i miss him so much. Not a day goes by that i dont hear his voice instructing me in one way or another. I have been watching your channel for sometime now. Yours and few others and i just wanna say thank you. Thank you for your service and thank you for continuing to help others by shareing your knowledge and experiences. You are a great teacher and instructor as well. Always great info and explained perfectly. Thank you brother! God bless you, god bless American, and keep fighting the good fight!

Man I've been looking for the key to this safe forever and cannot find it...Finally dawned on me to check out UA-cam and see if there was a video on lock picking and this was the first video I landed on...Worked like a charm. Thank you for the extremely useful lock picking lesson I appreciate it.

They are for cutting locks on gates that control access to service roads or chain link fence if needed to get around jam-ups, traffic, or idiots of various persuasions. Thank you for the information. It was very useful even to someone who's never picked a lock before.
I recently bought a used business printer that came upgraded with a lockable paper drawer attachment, which is worth like $100 online. Even though the lock itself was incredibly cheap, I didn't want to risk damaging the drawer by destroying the lock with a power drill, and this was the first video that came up. Using a smaller paper clip and a piece of metal wire bent to the same shape as the paper clip (the lock was really small), I was able to get in after about 5 minutes of experimenting (and figuring out I was inadvertently picking the side of the lock that has no tumblers).
It saved me the $65 a local locksmith quoted me to try to re-key the lock, which I can now remove and replace with another new lock that comes with keys for practically nothing. Thanks again!

I locked myself out of my house today, and the local locksmith gave me an estimate of $150.00 to $200.00 just to open the door, even though he had a guy within 2 miles of my house. I swore that would never happen again. Thank you so much for this video!!!

He did not specify where exactly you "can put the paperclip in and twist"... You can put the end of the paperclip directly into your lock and bend the tip to curve it to your needs.

You made it easy to shape/make picks that opened an ABUS 45/40 1 1/2" padlock that had been on the handle of a HOMAK toolbox for who knows how long. Not having or wanting to buy the correct saw blade, I could have removed the lock with a little force but handle damage or destruction was likely as Murphy's Law stands ready to strike at all times. That lock was just in the way and I appreciate your assistance.

Confirmed. This works. I fashioned a set out of standard paper clips using a small pair of computer repair pliers. Being my first time, it took a about 10 mins but I was able to successfully open the trigger lock on my shotgun that a friend had lost the key too when storing it for me. Thanks for the info.

If you are short on tension wrenches if you have an old set of windshield wipers you can take the small thin metal strips out of the blade and cut and bend them to your liking with a pair of lineman pliers.
Not really improvised but being in the field a lot it saved me money buying them.

The problem with springy tension tools is when your ACTUALLY picking a lock and not RAKING it you are going to get very bad feedback from the lock pins.
