This was the video that got me started on my lock picking adventures about 5 years ago. I started off with these home made lock picks and moved up from there. I love the feeling when a lock surrenders to me.
That was the best explanation. Short simple sweet and right to the point. My father was Mark Richardson the head training councillor of the nra for many years and he was one of the best instructor ive had tbe pleasure of learning under. Not just because he was my father but because he was just so good at explaining things that no matter your experience or level of knowledge you could always come away learning something new and it was always exciting to learn more. Never a dull moment. My father passed 6 months and i miss him so much. Not a day goes by that i dont hear his voice instructing me in one way or another. I have been watching your channel for sometime now. Yours and few others and i just wanna say thank you. Thank you for your service and thank you for continuing to help others by shareing your knowledge and experiences. You are a great teacher and instructor as well. Always great info and explained perfectly. Thank you brother! God bless you, god bless American, and keep fighting the good fight!
I was in a safe I lost the key too in literally 30 seconds after configuring the paperclips into the tension clip and the snake clip! Man I've been looking for the key to this safe forever and cannot find it...Finally dawned on me to check out UA-cam and see if there was a video on lock picking and this was the first video I landed on...Worked like a charm. Thank you for the extremely useful lock picking lesson I appreciate it.
First thing why are here why are you born and why are saying that you going to pick locks and you are picking your own nose in profile I think that's what you mean picking locks
David Andren just think of how many more people would kill themselves if Michael's or Hobby Lobby hosted noose tying classes & decorated them with puff balls & glitter.
I got it to work with a few minutes practice, i've been searching online for great ways to pick lock and this has been the first one that i could get to work for me! Thanks!
I've been trying to figure this out for the last 3 hours. I've been to 10 diffirent tutorials. Yours was the first to actually help me succeed. Thanks a ton.
Ok I’m a kid and my neighbors dad locked their gate because my friends ( The dad's children ) kept on getting out. So I saved them from the black hole of boredom and helped them escape! Instead of them falling over the fence trying to get out. THANK YOU THEY ARE VERY GREATFUL!!! 😁😁😁
Holy crap! I needed to feed my staff during the overnight shift. Left my work keys at home. The master lock on the walk-in fridge was no challenge! I went from tool to cool in a mere matter of minutes! Thank you!
I've been searching around, learned about the rake today. I wish I owned one - I kept searching specifically for paper clip lock picking, your video popped up and here we have an improvised rake: I just opened my no3. master lock like 10 times in a row, I've never picked a lock before. this is reassuring I'm a constant mess with my keys and misplacing them, thanks for your help man.
If you haven’t already, you should check out the lock picking lawyer. His UA-cam channel has tremendous amounts of information, he articulates, well, and he’s to the point.
AWESOME VIDEO!!! Just picked my first lock thanks to you. I was in a jam trying to get the locked pin out of my hitch receiver on my truck. I tried heat, banging on the lock and every key I had, nothing. Then I watched your video, and 5 minutes later...BOOM! THANK YOU!!!
Oh my goodness THANK YOU! Your video showed me the easiest and clear way to make the tools necessary. I'd watched numerous videos and couldn't get it done. Watched yours and picked the lock I needed within minutes!
That's what I used to do when I went to an Indian school that thought English in Kuwait lol it's been so long now I'm tryna open my sisters room cuz she took my other sisters clothes here in canada!
Thank you for the video! I had a Kingpin lock on a 53 ft dry van that someone had broken into the truck and stolen the keys to. I have no knowledge of locks, and watched your video, found two paper clips, and in 2 minutes had the lock off. Thank you again
I keep bolt cutters in my truck as part of my "get home" kit. They are for cutting locks on gates that control access to service roads or chain link fence if needed to get around jam-ups, traffic, or idiots of various persuasions. Now I'm going to work on this more subtle skill for access where I don't want to leave an obvious sign of entry. Good video.
Yep works!!Tried it on a good lock just now, opened it in less than 20 seconds.Wish i knew this weeks ago when keys were lost and had to cut the locks of my toolboxs and shed.
Excellent video by BlackScoutSurvival. It took more time for me to make the pick and rake than it took to open an 'Old School' all steel lock box. I had no idea how simple picking a lock could be. Thanks for your help.
HOLY CRAP!!! That is way easier than I thought it would be. Looks like I'm about to start learning a whole new skill. I appreciate you showing us this.
Im a maintenance director for nursing homes. Instead of carrying a 6 inch ring full of keys i know just carry a tension tool and 3 picks. I can open about 5 different keyway locks under 60 seconds some less than 10 sec. Happy i learned this skill saves my pockets and keeping up with 100 keys between my facilities.
Thank you very much. I was about to buy the lock pick kit, but I tried your method and it worked within the first few tries 😂. My security system at home has a lock box for the control panel and it has a 12V battery which died over a year ago. I lost the key to this box so I was not able to replace the battery. Happy to say I replaced this battery last night.
me after watching this video: puts on tuxedo and sunglasses; "this is gonna be great!" Later... neighbor finds me with a broken paperclip in their lock. "wasn't as easy as it looked."
I used to make picks like that and use a flat head screwdriver as a tensioner when I was a kid. I am very lucky I did not get caught with them at school.
Thank you for the information. It was very useful even to someone who's never picked a lock before. I recently bought a used business printer that came upgraded with a lockable paper drawer attachment, which is worth like $100 online. Even though the lock itself was incredibly cheap, I didn't want to risk damaging the drawer by destroying the lock with a power drill, and this was the first video that came up. Using a smaller paper clip and a piece of metal wire bent to the same shape as the paper clip (the lock was really small), I was able to get in after about 5 minutes of experimenting (and figuring out I was inadvertently picking the side of the lock that has no tumblers). It saved me the $65 a local locksmith quoted me to try to re-key the lock, which I can now remove and replace with another new lock that comes with keys for practically nothing. Thanks again!
Same. I have the same padlock shown in the video and I made the tension wrench and rake exactly as shown and it did absolutely nothing. Just going to have to use my bolt cutters and buy a new lock.
Thank you so much I now know how to lock pick my school's locker so whenever I get locked out I can just lock pick my way in my locker also useful to help other people get into their lockers too
I locked myself out of my house today, and the local locksmith gave me an estimate of $150.00 to $200.00 just to open the door, even though he had a guy within 2 miles of my house. I swore that would never happen again. Thank you so much for this video!!!
He did not specify where exactly you "can put the paperclip in and twist"... You can put the end of the paperclip directly into your lock and bend the tip to curve it to your needs.
You made it easy to shape/make picks that opened an ABUS 45/40 1 1/2" padlock that had been on the handle of a HOMAK toolbox for who knows how long. Not having or wanting to buy the correct saw blade, I could have removed the lock with a little force but handle damage or destruction was likely as Murphy's Law stands ready to strike at all times. That lock was just in the way and I appreciate your assistance.
Confirmed. This works. I fashioned a set out of standard paper clips using a small pair of computer repair pliers. Being my first time, it took a about 10 mins but I was able to successfully open the trigger lock on my shotgun that a friend had lost the key too when storing it for me. Thanks for the info.
Thanks buddy I got my garage door open in like 1 minute. I used your Bobby pin wrench and technique but used a precision flat head screw driver for picking the pins.
Just for everyone, the Master Lock he uses in this video, is a very novice lock. A very good place to start for anyone getting in it. My first time I picked it in about 30 seconds.
I can open my Master Lock No5 via SPP with a paperclip feeler in seconds, but it won't paperclip rake for crap. A different crap chinese lock I have opens in seconds with a rake, but I can't SPP it.
Super late, and despite the moronic comments this was actually really cool. Done with Bobby pins but fashioning each individual tool was something I hadn't seen before. Thanks for the knowledge.
If you are short on tension wrenches if you have an old set of windshield wipers you can take the small thin metal strips out of the blade and cut and bend them to your liking with a pair of lineman pliers. Not really improvised but being in the field a lot it saved me money buying them.
The problem with springy tension tools is when your ACTUALLY picking a lock and not RAKING it you are going to get very bad feedback from the lock pins.
