Sensory nerve pathology may have a connection to mitochondrial damage. So the improved balance that Doc noticed is plausible, if the original decay in balance originated from decreased proprioception. Would be an interesting thing to study.
Unfortunately, Dr. Gundry misrepresents the facts in this video [for advertising purposes?]. According to the study that he is apparently referring to, ~40% of the subjects that were given pomegranate juice significantly converted the precursor compounds into Urolithin A. So ~40% had the right microbiome composition for that, not 12%. 12% is a different figure from the same study. 12% of the subjects already had detectable levels of Urolithin A at baseline, without any intervention.
@drgundry I began taking 500 mg of Mitopure daily last December. After about 4 weeks, I noticed that during my elliptical workout, the monitor on the machine that estimates calories burned began ticking up without any additional perceived effort on my part. The increased calorie burn has leveled off at ~14% increase compared to my workouts before beginning my daily dose of Mitopure. I have also noticed subtle changes in my appearance. I am 59 years old and was beginning to develop the sagging turkey neck of aging. My neck has tightened up and the gray peppering of my hair seems to have stopped and some of the gray has reversed. I am physically fit with no chronic conditions. I know that studies have been done with both 500 mg and 1,000 mg of Mitopure but discussions of the results has left me confused. Based on your observation and research, what is your opinion on any added benefits I may expect if I increase my daily dose from 500 mg to 1,000 mg?

urolithin A is a postbiotic, pomegranate is a prebiotic, your microbiome can create uorlithin A from pomegranate but only 12% (supposedly) have the bacteria to do so
Eating pomegranate can work to produce Urolithin A, if you have the right gut bacteria to make Urolithin A from the ellagitannins in pomegranate. Not everyone has that gut bacteria, though. So I would take bacillus coagulans (a bacteria that does produce Urolithin A from the ellagitannins in pomegranate) as a supplement, and take it with pomegranate.

I'm betting it's vital reds. His oldest and first supplement that he developed. I take it myself and it looks just like that. I could be mistaken as well.
Hi Dr Gundry is it safe to take Urolithin A if you have graves eye disease and graves disease , Does it interact with thyroid replacement? and is it best for people with autoimmunity to avoid "immune boosting" supplements such as Urolithin A Thx!
It is a life changer if you wanna get poor fast... this supplement is way to expensive the cheapest one I could find is 60 pills for 125$. I care alot about my health but that is not affordable :(
This is good info. I could do without the regurgitation of the postulation that mitochondria are billions of year old and they made a “deal”. I think the mouth bacteria has something to do with it too, as its also in rose hips , and when I eat rose hips I get a big boost and strength and stamina, but they need to be in season and the right soils. Note this supplement is super expensive and you need to use for up to 3 mths to see a benefit, if any. Bit of a shake down IMO. Dr Grundy has lots of good info to pass on but the science is always changing so we all have to do our own research. I took his Total Gut Rehab and ended up getting symptoms of mast cell activation disorder. It may work for some folks but it didnt work for me.
The problem is living in Canada these products are difficult to get and the high US does not help. I contacted to company and everything is shipped from the US at a high cost...if they could offer it on Amazon would make it easier and cheaper to get shipped...
I (as a nutritional toxicologist) follow Gundry for quite some time now and appreciate his advice, but slowly he moved more to commercial advertising than providing real scientific data and a balanced review. I am keto for a long time now and low carb is the way to get a good health, but he has deviated too much now from his initial basis.
We need more doctors like Dr. Gundry. He so very well explains complex medical science to lay men. I feel like am sitting in a medical college lecture learning finally how human body works😂. Got the concept but curious to know how so many people from different cultures, mostly also from “not so rich” countries have easily crossed their 90s without taking any such supplements. I understand if this is used as a cure for ongoing disease but a healthy person, at younger age, just taking these supplements scares me personally. Anything new without enough research I won’t ingest into my system. I am okay when it comes to fasting, diets etc but not sure I will go for this supplement. Rather go for pomegranate supplements which don’t have sugar in it.
the creepy thing is how can you say that you are healthy? most sickness nowadays dont show symptoms and just like a timebomb that u cant figure out until you already caught off guard.. think again.
Hi Dr. Gundry, thank you for your discussion regarding Urolithin A. One takeaway question that remains is how can an individual determine whether or not they have the ability to produce Urolithin A in their gut? Is there some way to test for this?
You need to take Akkermansia from Pendulum, then munch on pomegranate extract, cranberry extract, all the dark berries, cacao powder, pecans and walnuts and then pray to produce a little bit of Urolithin.
Isn't he great? ♥ BTW, how about the theory that mitochodrial dysfunction is in its turn caused by lateral transfer of bacterial DNA into our mitochondrial/cell DNA proper? And not only by pathogens but also by commensal bacteria ( + fungi &viruses)? So then our cells become behaving like pathogens? And the sticky biofilms in the gut acting as a source of continuous, life-long infection and cell/mitochondrial DNA pathological transformation?? Would you still love your microbiome then or rather go on a cleanse?
There is literally nothing you can do about dna transfer. It is a part of our heritage and is as beneficial as it is harmful. This is how we adapt and evolve.
So... I don't see what the point is of buying Mitopure if you're not one those "12% percenters"?? I see nothing in the supplement, nor this long pitch that says it does anything about those particular gut bacteria 😕

Thanks again and have a great day !!!!😊😊😊
Thank you, very informative. Btw, I think that's kombucha in your jar, but my daughter reckons it's pomegranate juice. Are either of us close? 🤔😂
Balsamic and seltzer
Red wine
I'm betting it's vital reds. His oldest and first supplement that he developed. I take it myself and it looks just like that. I could be mistaken as well.
Which gut bacteria? Can it be supplemented? And why not other, cheaper brands of Urolithin A?
Hi Dr Gundry is it safe to take Urolithin A if you have graves eye disease and graves disease , Does it interact with thyroid replacement? and is it best for people with autoimmunity to avoid "immune boosting" supplements such as Urolithin A Thx!
Tried it and noticed no results after several months. Would not recommend Mitopure.
Is there any link of Curcumin with this Podcast ?? Can Curcumin play role to clean up Dead ATP or Making new energy level
What do take of your products or diet to help with Urolithen A?
uh.... what ?
It is a life changer if you wanna get poor fast... this supplement is way to expensive the cheapest one I could find is 60 pills for 125$. I care alot about my health but that is not affordable :(
$2-3 per day is less than buying a coffee at a coffee shop.
plus you can try it for 1 month to see if it works then quit if it does not
Low risk
@@Music-gw4qf That's too much logic
@@Music-gw4qf Great price comparison!
It’s way “too” not “to” you idiot.
Which one?...😅
Ohhhh I was hoping this would help but I have mcas already :(
Did you take this urolithin a too ?
The problem is living in Canada these products are difficult to get and the high US does not help. I contacted to company and everything is shipped from the US at a high cost...if they could offer it on Amazon would make it easier and cheaper to get shipped...
I am in Canada as well. Were you able to find a better solution for purchasing
@@scottkenefick5972 no just more emails to buy...lol
When is the best time of day to take this product, should it be taken on an empty stomach or with food?
Love your mind ❤❤❤❤
Need akkermansia gut bacteria for pomegranate juice to produce urolithin A.
Thank you great information 👍
I (as a nutritional toxicologist) follow Gundry for quite some time now and appreciate his advice, but slowly he moved more to commercial advertising than providing real scientific data and a balanced review. I am keto for a long time now and low carb is the way to get a good health, but he has deviated too much now from his initial basis.
This I have to agree, Dr. Gaundry is now more into profit 🫣 apologies for my harsh comment
@@lianelangitan-nelson1266 The truth sometimes hurts.
Dr Gundry, do you think someone with IBS can take Urolithic A? DoI understand that Urolithic A reinstaures the right bacteria?
How does it work on Diabetes?
do we just take Uolithin A or do we also need to eat pomegranates ? if you really know answer reply
@@trustytahr5364I am actually doing this lol let’s see if this helps ….
Isn't he great? ♥
BTW, how about the theory that mitochodrial dysfunction is in its turn caused by lateral transfer of bacterial DNA into our mitochondrial/cell DNA proper? And not only by pathogens but also by commensal bacteria ( + fungi &viruses)? So then our cells become behaving like pathogens?
And the sticky biofilms in the gut acting as a source of continuous, life-long infection and cell/mitochondrial DNA pathological transformation??
Would you still love your microbiome then or rather go on a cleanse?
There is literally nothing you can do about dna transfer. It is a part of our heritage and is as beneficial as it is harmful. This is how we adapt and evolve.
Is there a good tincture formula? I can't swallow capsules or powder
What is the link to the interview with the scientist from timeline nutrition?
Doc, could you tell us something about Methylene Blue 🔵.
It's blue
Urolithin-A is prohibitively expensive for most people. Of course it is.
So... I don't see what the point is of buying Mitopure if you're not one those "12% percenters"?? I see nothing in the supplement, nor this long pitch that says it does anything about those particular gut bacteria 😕
No. You are maybe not one of the 12%, thus you need the supplement.
study says producers are actually 40%
What's the red drink in the glass you have on the table in you video? See it very often in your video.

Great content! But really...$125 for a bottle of Mitopure?
Unfortunately it’s made with gelatin (capsules) and with histamine intolerance it’s a big no.
How does it affect people with heart issues?! Or cardiovascular issues?
How do you find out if you are in the 12 percent? Is there a lab test?
Dr. Gundry would you have the same effect from taking Pomegranate Extract?
no
But doesn't Urolithin A come from pomegranates?@@Notme-tq4xs
Who can afford $150.00 for 60 capsules ??
There are much less expensive brands of Urolithin A available
$40 at Amazon
Mitopure contains iron oxide as ingredients which is quite pro inflammatory
Effect on telomerase, Hayflick limit?
Dr GG? Yep, gundry glasses
Can you please recommend where to buy the mitapure urethane a? Is it a lithium? Where can we get it? As there are tons of online stores who were selling it but am kinda hesitant of buying it😊
Can a person undergoing dialysis take Urolithin A supplement?
Do you have conflict of interest ( investments, received commission or endorsement or profit in any way) with supplement companies? If so your opinion is not that credible or at least biased.
All well and good. But promoting pharmaceutical indirectly ?
