Can have a fan on with an Garmin R10 (just don't point down towards hitting area) - unit works great. I use a net and a cheap 42" tv. I don't find a screen/projector is necessary - easy way to cut costs and upgrade other equipment. Biggest regret wasn't buying a good mat from the start (bought the Sigpro softy) as I quickly developed wrist pain. Frankly, they should outlaw cheap mats. As for room dimensions, you also need sufficient height. If you want to use a driver and are tall/have upright swing, need a very high ceiling.
Thanks Arthur, I don't have enough space for a garmin r10, I looked into it. My room is only 4.2m deep, 3.9m wide and I have a 2.5m height. I've been told the only launch monitors that will work are the camera based ones. So looking to get the Skytrak, but seeing what the overall cost will be, may have to start with a spornia net.
Currently using a Forbes winter Tee Hitting mat, but getting aches on my elbows, what alternative mat is available in the UK. with a softer hitting strip ?
I've had a lot of issues with my Garmin R10 disconnecting from my computer. That's my only regret with my setup. I wish I could afford a better launch monitor.
I have ordered Skytrak Plus and the Play and Improve subscription and awaiting delivery. My intent is to purchase an IPad product to take advantage of being to play the WGT courses. I am trying to figure out which IPad product to purchase. My setup will not include hitting into a simulator screen, but into netting and using a display monitor that mirrors what is on the IPad product. The IPad product will most likely be used exclusively for use with Skytrak. Do you have any advice on which IPad product (regular IPad, IPad mini, IPad Pro or IPad Air) will best serve this purpose? Obviously, if the IPad product influences the quality of the picture on the display monitor, then that drives the decision.
There is no real preference for iPad - I’m pretty sure they will all offer the same experience graphics wise - just the image on the screen would be bigger/smaller whichever one you get. I would advise that you use E6 Connect rather than WGT if you get the play and improve package though - WGT is pretty poor!!
Hi , wanted to ask, one of your guests said not to buy the country club mat, I'm in the uk can you recommend a good mat. I was looking to get the winter tee mat from golf bays, is that one a good one if not what is? Thanks Ajay
I haven’t tried the one from golf bays. The one that I use and can highly recommend is the Tee Turf from golf swing systems. I did a video about it a while back: ua-cam.com/video/lfWSrUNn1JA/v-deo.html I hope that helps 👍🏼⛳️
@hcpgolf thank you so much, yes I have seen that one too, I think it is the same mat golf bays call it winter tee for some reason. I am looking to set my golf sim at home so was watching your ideally timed video. Thanks again
You're right, that is my fault - the 'advert' I've put in this video is mistakenly from an older video where I was offering the guide free for the first 50 downloads. My apologies
Great video! I would love a "behind the scenes' on Dave's golf simulator setup - very cool that it completely folds away!

The R10 is a solid introductory launch monitor. Hopefully you'll be able to upgrade at some point in the future 👍🏼⛳️

hey, you promise free guide, but in the end you have to pay something. That's not cool, no matter how much it is! 👎
