CoD WW2 Zombies has some of the coolest zombie designs I've seen in a long while. They aren't just guys with pale skin and glowing eyes, they look like freaking monsters. I absolutely love that "Evil German Superscience" aesthetic as well. The zombies have crude "enhancements" which look made from rusted metal, assembled in an unsanitary laboratory from 1940. It reminds me a lot of the movie Frankenstein's Army. The Pest Zombies especially are really ghoulish. They're just like reanimated charred skeletons, sometimes missing arms, and they make this unsettling fly buzzing noise. The Panzermorder too is such a creative and gruesome monster. WW2 Zombies rules.

One of the best things about WW2 zombies, other than their horrifying designs- was the fact they actually included jumpscares from the zombies. You could be running from a horde, you look back for just a second to assess how much are chasing you- only for you to be scared from one popping out of the snow directly in your face. Being 2022 and watching these again is so nostalgic... I remember when this first came out and i was so excited to play this, I was definitely not dissapointed. It was really anxiety inducing and it made you panic, no zombie game Imo can beat COD WW2.
I know people had their problems with WW2 zombies, and I did too. But I appreciate them going for a somewhat basic story. Black Ops 3 onwards really lost me with the story, with aliens and ancient artifacts from alternate dimensions. And after Black Ops 2, the zombies didn't really have any scare factor for me anymore. This was the game that got me fairly scared in zombies again, and I'll always appreciate that. The designs for the zombies were on point, especially the Pannzermorder.

One more scary fact to think about is that these zombies are constantly suffering, When playing the game sometimes you can hear the zombies themselves speak in German, implying they at least have a conscience left in them, this gets even worse when you remember that the reason they're so feral and angry is that their pain receptors are always on full blast, even if they aren't getting hurt.
