  • Pelvic organ prolapse can be a challenging condition, but with the right exercises and techniques, you can strengthen your pelvic floor and improve your symptoms. This ‪@PelvicHealthProject‬ video is designed to provide you with effective exercises that target the muscles supporting your pelvic organs.
    I'd like to note that a mild to moderate prolapse may be managed with conservative treatment including exercise and lifestyle changes. However, more severe prolapses will need to be treated with the help of your doctor. Please see your healthcare provider to be assessed and to find the right treatment for you.
    Disclaimer: This video is for educational purposes only. Please remember that you should see a healthcare provider to be examined for a proper diagnosis and treatment. You may be referred to a pelvic floor PT to receive specialized treatment for your specific condition. These videos are educational and may help with your condition but is not a substitute to medical treatment.

    How do core engage?

    • @PelvicHealthProject
      @PelvicHealthProject  18 днів тому

      @badushabadusha1826 Engage your core muscles by exhaling and pulling your abdominals muscles inward (toward your spine) and together (to help reduce your hernia). When you do this properly, you will see that your belly flattens, no pushing or bulging outward. If possible, also close and lift your vaginal (pelvic floor) muscles at the same time for your prolapse. You should be able to work your abdominal muscles and pelvic muscles simultaneously. If you're having difficulty, see a healthcare provider in-person who can teach you to do this properly.

    What do u mean by pelvic floor muscles?

    • @PelvicHealthProject
      @PelvicHealthProject  Місяць тому

      Hi Margaret, your pelvic floor muscles are the muscles at the bottom of your pelvis (floor of the pelvis), that support your pelvic organs. They also help in bowel and bladder control. These are the muscles you squeeze when you "kegel" or try to stop your urine flow.

      Hi @dimpleparekh4563, prolapse would not be treated with hymenectomy. Are you referring to the problem you mentioned in the other video?
      You may benefit from a private consultation to discuss in more detail. Please fee feel to message me directly at DrLoyd@pelvichealthproject.com. I’d be happy to speak with you.

      Hi I have just been diagnosed with prolapse from my doctor I’m waiting for a hospital appointment I live in England and there’s no pelvic floor therapist in my area they are so far away how do you know if it’s safe to do the exercises before being Seen by the gynaecologist and my doctor send me a link with squeezing exercises whats the best thing to do I’m so worried 🥲 Thank - you .

    • @PelvicHealthProject
      @PelvicHealthProject  11 годин тому

      @@EllaMills-i1w Hi Ella, I know it's easier said than done but please don't worry. Prolapses are very common and if it is mild to moderate, responds well to conservative treatment. If your doctor has recommended "squeezing exercises" then it is safe to begin pelvic floor strengthening exercises, like the ones shown in this video. While you're waiting to meet with your GYN, you can begin working on exercises and avoid certain activities that can cause unnecessary pressure to the prolapse. I have attached a link to another video explaining prolapse in more detail. I hope this helps you, and please try not to fret. ua-cam.com/video/mZd6pmfmbiQ/v-deo.html

    • @PelvicHealthProject
      @PelvicHealthProject  Місяць тому

      Hi there, these exercises would be helpful for both your uterine prolapse and umbilical hernia but it's important that you perform them properly. Make sure you are not pushing or holding your breath doing your exercises, which is a common mistake with people who have hernias and prolapses. Place your hands on your belly when you do your exercises and make sure your belly is drawing inward, not pushing outward, to help with your umbilical hernia.
      I'm not sure what you mean about the upper ab gripping, can you elaborate?

      @PelvicHealthProject  Місяць тому

      Hi Margaret, pelvic exercises are sometimes irritating when you have BV depending on the severity of your symptoms. Give them a try and see how you feel. If you feel irritated, hold off until the BV is cleared.
