      @badushabadusha1826 Hi, I responded with this also to your question in my prolapse exercise video. Engage your core muscles by exhaling and pulling your abdominals muscles inward (toward your spine) and together (to help reduce your hernia). When you do this properly, you will see that your belly flattens, no pushing or bulging outward. If possible, also close and lift your vaginal (pelvic floor) muscles at the same time for your prolapse. You should be able to work your abdominal muscles and pelvic muscles simultaneously. If you're having difficulty, see a healthcare provider in-person who can teach you to do this properly. Also, you may see improvement if your condition is mild to moderate. However, if you have a severe prolapse or hernia, please see your doctor as you may need more invasive treatment. I hope that helps you!

      Hi there, these exercises would be helpful for both your uterine prolapse and umbilical hernia but it's important that you perform them properly. Make sure you are not pushing or holding your breath doing your exercises, which is a common mistake with people who have hernias and prolapses. Place your hands on your belly when you do your exercises and make sure your belly is drawing inward, not pushing outward, to help with your umbilical hernia. I'm not sure what you mean about the upper ab gripping, can you elaborate?

    What do u mean by pelvic floor muscles?

    • @PelvicHealthProject
      @PelvicHealthProject 2 місяці тому

      Hi Margaret, your pelvic floor muscles are the muscles at the bottom of your pelvis (floor of the pelvis), that support your pelvic organs. They also help in bowel and bladder control. These are the muscles you squeeze when you "kegel" or try to stop your urine flow.

      Hi! This varies quite a bit depending on how long you’ve had this problem and how severe your symptoms are. This can range from just a couple months for some up to a year or more for others. However, you should start to see improvements in your symptoms in about 4 weeks if you’re doing the right things/on the right treatment plan.

      @PelvicHealthProject 4 дні тому

      @@EllaMills-i1w Hi Ella, I know it's easier said than done but please don't worry. Prolapses are very common and if it is mild to moderate, responds well to conservative treatment. If your doctor has recommended "squeezing exercises" then it is safe to begin pelvic floor strengthening exercises, like the ones shown in this video. While you're waiting to meet with your GYN, you can begin working on exercises and avoid certain activities that can cause unnecessary pressure to the prolapse. I have attached a link to another video explaining prolapse in more detail. I hope this helps you, and please try not to fret. ua-cam.com/video/mZd6pmfmbiQ/v-deo.html

    Can men have pelvic floor muscles issues as well. I have terrible pain and im too young to have prostate issues.

    • @PelvicHealthProject
      @PelvicHealthProject 3 місяці тому

      Yes, I see men in my clinic for pelvic floor pain frequently. I would see your doctor first to rule out infections or other pelvic conditions. If all looks normal, I would recommend you ask for a referral for pelvic PT. You can start reverse kegels (step 1) and pelvic stretches (step 3) while you're looking for a therapist but you'll need likely help from a therapist to help you with manual stretching if it's pelvic floor pain (which is likely if everything else has been ruled out). A therapist would be able to confirm that with you based on your specific symptoms and with an assessment. Hope that helps. I'm happy to answer any other questions you have.

      I have ruled out infections. I've been to a urologist. I'll try the reverse kegels and pelvic stretches. I can't write much because it's embarrassing. Just wanted to know if men can suffer as well.

      @dimpleparekh4563 Hi there, thank you for watching and for your question. I'm sorry to hear about your pelvic pain. I want you to know that I have had many patients like you who have been married or in relationships and unable to have sex due to pain. It's highly treatable, and the success rate with pelvic therapy is extremely high. If your pelvic muscles are so tight that you cannot tolerate an ultrasound wand or a pelvic exam, that itself is the reason you have not been successful with intercourse. I recommend seeing a pelvic therapist who can assess and treat you properly. I really think you could use a pair of hands and eyes on you to help you learn to relax your pelvic muscles and learn how to use dilators properly. Sometimes women just need some professional guidance. I've never had a patient fail dilator treatment. In the meantime, please watch my Step 1 video ua-cam.com/video/tVWJqAODa04/v-deo.html which guides you on how to do reverse kegels (pelvic relaxation), and once successful you should be able to start on the smallest dilator. I wish you the best and I am confident your issue can be resolved with proper treatment. I think you'd benefit most from in-person treatment but if you'd like an online consult, you can contact me at pelvichealthproject@gmail.com.
