Kind of a bait title. FF14 isn't banning them, Xbox is.
I don't think FF has the power to ban/suspend players from xbox live
They got banned from the Xbox live services, not FF itself, so I don't think that the FF14 flagging system would have anything to do with it.
Being that Xbox is so connected into that, yeah you might be right, but it's weird the different timing bands. Still concerning and weird on Xbox, hope they get that fixed.
@@gingerprimemmo from what we've seen, it seems X-Box's filters and moderation has 0 context to FF14 cause even stuff like Thanalan is getting censored in chat messages, and the original post stated that they initially got in touch with X-Box support for apeal and were rejected.
Yeah, FFXIV has its own profanity filter players can toggle on/off in the game options, and it certainly doesn't auto-ban players for any language. You would have to be reported and then have a human GM look at it and take action.
do note that ff14 isnt a free to play or buy to play game, its a monthly subscription plus you have to buy the game upfront and buy regular expansions (at full price of a regular game). making a ban extremely expensive
While this is an issue, the profanity filter "bug" as a whole is more concerning. The problem I have is that there has (as far as I know), been absolutely NO official response from either Microsoft/Xbox nor Square Enix concerning this issue. Now, as SE made the in game profanity filter (which can be toggled on/off in the config menu), this HAS to be an issue with Microsoft/Xbox themselves. The thing is that with the two week cutoff to get a refund for digital purchased games (from the Xbox store) is fast approaching and, with (seemingly) no official response forthcoming, how long should we wait before pulling the trigger on getting a refund?
Keep in mind that this "bug" has been known about since the release of the open beta.
I agree that it would be nice to at least see Square Enix acknowledge the issue, but I'm not sure what they could say that would make things any better. This is entirely on Microsoft/Xbox, they're the ones doing this. Square Enix can't speak for them, what they're doing (if anything) to fix it, what kind of reimbursements may be coming to people wrongfully banned or who lost subscription time, etc.
61 days?... say goodbye to your imgame house...
Brian, it's clear the solicitation for those company seals, planned raid and map nights, and maybe even bozja/eureka times...this is unacceptable. Get that ban hammer.
You're merciless today 😂
@gingerprimemmo i mean without promptly banning any players who try to socialize through some in game group, whats next? They will come to the gold saucer and cause loading cues into gates! Only prompt banning can save us from "fun."
The automated censor on Xbox is b*******
Fun fact. Xbox censors the dumbest things in chat. Example: if you type 'class' it becomes 'cl??'
Can’t have class without ASS.
@@jackskelington7377 it also happens when two connecting words spell another word.
Xbox sucks and it's stupidity
Crazy.
So crazy, thanks for the link to the story :)
Microsoft are a joke so glad I chucked my xbox away
