I played the beta. I got attacked bye one PS player. Some people do console war everywhere. To my surprise, even many of his friends sided with me in the chat. I also got few tips. How, where what I can do. What worth it. The FF14 community seems good so far. Expect some black sheep.
Yeah sadly those people will exist but my years on FF14 have been 99% amazing with very few bad experiences, enough to count on one hand. So I hope it doesnt throw you off. And let me say welcome to the game!
Rest assured as a sane PlayStation user, we don't own the console war nutjobs. Most of us get annoyed by those types since it paints all of us in a negative light when many of us just wanna vibe with other people regardless of platform. Hell, half my friend group is on PC and I plan to try out PC gaming myself someday
@@alucard002 well it’s unfortunate that was your experience but as someone’s whose played the game for nearly 11 years on both ps3/4/5 now and pc, that’s not a common thing. The only toxicity you are guaranteed to come across if you come out as a story skipper lol. What you experienced there is a very rare occurrence. No community is without their toxic elements. Don’t let it bother you. Block them and don’t feed into them.
You say clearly, do you know they get cut? Are you aware of the price. As far I know you don't need coins for subscription. Also I'm not typing in hate lol

It is worth noting that if you say have played through stormblood and then preorder dawntrail with the thought that you can play shadowbringers and endwalker while you wait for launch. You can't. Shadowbringers-dawntrail would all go live for you on dawntrail launch day
So question, the dawntrail preorders are out but as far as what ive read on it, it doesnt include the previous expansions... i want them earrings but dunno if i wanna drop all that money for my brother and i
Yeah the way it goes is the latest expansion release is included seperately as it is the product they want to make money on. The previous expansions that are not included in the free trial are bundled together and are usually on offer for quite cheap (On steam they were recently selling for ~£10
I play ff14 on pc and looking at doing it on Xbox too. I am subbed via mog station and card is linked for sub. If I am subbed via that, do I need the Xbox coins or will it still take from my card? Also if I want extra stuff that’s on the store on mogstation, like outfits etc, can’t I get via that and then log in on Xbox to claim rather than getting coins via Xbox?
Honestly I am surprised to not see more FFXIV content creators not talking about this very thing. Soon as I saw the FFXIV Coins I thought to myself “Great Its the WoW token all over again.” I really hope I am wrong.
It’s just Xbox’s way of getting cut. Just like when you buy something from APPLE App Store they get a cut. That’s all. The coins shouldn’t effect anyone else. Speaking as and Xbox player. Also as and Xbox player I have Gamepass no matter what. So it’s like I’m really just going to be paying for FF14. It’s not like if I didn’t have FF14 I wouldn’t have Gamepass. So to me no big deal.

Regardless, when I first heard about it, I was a bit worried, but you explained it very well... and I can see how this could get out of hand, but it needn't be terrible. But it does make me wonder. Did this "Xbox Tax" happen because SE was pursuing this connection for more players? Like, they had to sweeten the deal?
It's free up through Stormblood if you stay on the free-trial, which has some restrictions that you can look up. The moment you pay for the game, your account is locked to a recurring sub to continue playing and cannot go back to free-trial. Unlike in ESO, you can unlock all classes using only one character. Meaning you don't need eight characters just to play the classes you want. It's more buttons like that of WoW than it is Hack-And-Slash like ESO with very weak auto-attacks thrown in.
So I linked my xbox account to a new square account so I could play the beta... Did I screw myself? I assumed I was able to later on connect my xbox account to my main square account, but now im worrying I wont be able to connect to the xbox account to the main now.. anyone know?
Yeah, they said do not like your gamertag to a SE account, some people that if you delete your duplicate SE account you might be able to do so, but we'll see how this shakes out.
Buying ffxiv has always been convoluted, nice that tradition is still persisting. And Xbox tax again lol? Isn’t Xbox literally taxing ffxiv for being in their platform by having the coins and taking 30% of it? The coins aren’t available on the other platforms, so to me it seems Xbox is getting a bit more of a cut from ffxiv than the others lol. Good for them, but please stop with the Xbox tax narrative. It was dead, don’t drag it out of the grave and parade its corpse. The only Xbox tax here is the 30% Xbox is taking in from the coins they have specifically for their platform. Not the other way around.
@@gingerprimemmo that sounds like it’s a MS decision not SE. I don’t see how or why SE would have a say in gamepss being required or not. It seems to me like it’s a self imposed tax Xbox is placing on themselves to bump gamepss subs. Am I missing something here?
Nope, you said it right there. But I’m still mystified that they did that being that was one of the reasons why FFXIV wasn’t on Xbox in the first place.
I did retire but clearly you don't pay attention to what I say. Because I said I'd still cover the game, plus I'm almost done with losing the weight (down 70 pounds currently) and FF14 and Dawntrail are really nice invites back in. Anyway, you're welcome to be someone who's hate drives them, I won't stop you but grow the F up fast dude. Make your parents proud of you for once in your life. :)

I did step away for a reason, both stated and delivered on that very reason. If you want to educate yourself the videos are still up as well as my updated videos themselves. If you're not wanting pushback from me, check your words dude, don't try to act the victim because you got called out for it. If you feel insulted, then think on why that is, and grow from this. :)

If you buy coins off of the Xbox store, Microsoft takes 30% unless they have some other kinda of deal.

It is worth noting that if you say have played through stormblood and then preorder dawntrail with the thought that you can play shadowbringers and endwalker while you wait for launch. You can't. Shadowbringers-dawntrail would all go live for you on dawntrail launch day

I don't think there is a way to earn them by just playing, but I could see them being a perk of gamepass though.
Probably cause most of the FF creators aren't really Xbox players so they don't even know about it

You can not do that, once an account is linked its a fixed thing and cant be unlinked.
You would probably have to get another gamertag if I understand it correctly.
Unfortunately you will need a new gamer tag to link with you're original square account
