- Hey all!
Here i play XVI Century composer T. Susato - The Battle (War or Die Schlacht, la Battaile) with instruments copy from the period.
This if far one of the most hardwork productions i ever try. I really hope you can enjoy it as i did while i recorded, filmed and edited it! I really like this song so i decided to recorded it again in a better version.
Please Like and Subscribe to help me sharing it! Thanks!
Besides the viol consort, crumhorn consort, harpsichord and drums i´ve included real bomb´s sound in this. Let me know what you think :)
Regards!
Ed.

HELLO! If you like my videos and would like to help me somehow please read!
Recently my positive organ had to suffer some upgrades and the wind blower does not work anymore for it. Unfortunately my instrument is dead until i have a new blower but it is very expensive, not manufactured in Brazil and worst, even more inaccessible now because of Brazil economic situation and high currency devaluation.
ANY help is welcome if you could! I´ve started a crowdfunding

I love this music❤️
All the musicians played together and didn't rock the boat! ;) Terrific video!
that’s about the sweetest battle i’ve ever heard.
Yes! It´s my dog. His name is Lully :)
Super MAGNIFIQUE…the renaissances..
Love the white dog in the middle "I dont care, I am just a dog in the middle of the battle, whoof whoof" :)
Lol, by the way, he´s name is Lully =)
I love it !
Merci Catherine!
How I love the rasping sound of krumhorns! The quality of your music is easily up there with the likes of David Munrow, who was the first to pioneer the revival of medieval and renaissance music. Nice views of Bodiam Castle and amusing graphics. Thank you.
Thank you very much! I´m very happy you enjoyed it :) Best wishes from Rio
some of this old music is really good stuff.
+Stephen Allen Thanks!
I subscribed.
Revisitando aqui e apresentando para amigos! Sempre divertido 😅 Abraços!

Love it we played this as a family when my children were small on recorders. They would have preferred it with the ordinance I expect.

Thank you very much Paul!
Love it. I'm going to start making my own Crumhorn.
Cool! it´s a very funny instrument to play
This is fantastic!
Thank you!
Superb krumhorns, they must have sounded just like that in the time of Elizabeth 1st, a lovely duck like tone. Beautiful. So nice to set the music against backdrops of Bodiam and Alnwick castles (reminiscent of the water festivals that the Earl of Leycester held at Kenilworth, against a backdrop of the ruined, medieval castle)
+GlenCharlesPovey Glad you enjoyed it! All the best!
This reminds me of Music History class when I was getting my Music degree... I got to play this particular piece during summer band.... actually quite fun to play....
I love playing it! Agree with you!
Nice work! I love playing this with an early wind band - crumhorns or shawms and maybe a sackbut or two! My wife and I marched out of church to this piece on our wedding day, played on bagpipes and straight trumpet (thought we'd better start as we meant to go on...)
+Allan Scott Hello! I can wonder how cool might sound it played by bagpipes and trumpets. For sure you had a nice wedding ceremony! All the best!
Fantastico!!!
Obrigado Umberto!
I just adore this rendition - and love the canon sounds. I think they add, not subtract. And I think Susato himself would have been chuffed to bits at how cool it sounds with them added!
Glad you like it Kira! I hope Susato liked it too :)
Bravissimo! E il video è davvero divertente!
Grazie Luca!
Fantastic!
Thank you!
Excellent orchestration!

So completely unlike all the other Danserye dances, I have often wondered how it ended up in the collection. Certainly the best in the collection for a big sound.
Glad you like it this piece!
(Really liked these, like the earlier pavane, and I remember (and still have recorded on a playlist) the simple ones you started with like in the stairway!
Good version! I prefer the version with trumpets/sacquebout but this one is really great too. I love your drummer, he sounds really "Renaissance" :)
Thank you! Wish i could play corneto and sackbut also :) Regards from Rio
Adorei! Vou assistir todos os vídeos. Gosto que no Brasil se façam músicas além do forró!
Obrigado!
Hello! Thank you for your kind words! Iguaçu Falls can be seen in Juan de Encina´s video. :)
