      I think she may have known that the case had a high probability of being dismissed. She kept on saying she wanted to go on record to give her rationale for the decisions that were made. Also, she threw Hancock under the bus and wanted that noted into testimony under oath. She knew she was screwed and she was trying to mitigate the repercussions. Hannah's case was also on her mind and knowing that an appeal was probably forthcoming, it made it imperative that she testify under oath. Again just my opinion.
      In an interview with the special prosecutor that resigned during this trial (Johnson?), she rebutted the lead prosecutor's claims as to why she decided to resign. She stated that she knew that ethically and morally she could not abide being a part of a team that surpassed evidence and violated Brady.
      The lead prosecutor and her cohorts chose their words very carefully under oath and I'm sure there were many omissions that, technically, they could state if questioned "Well, you didn't specifically ask me about that."

      The prosecutor, who appeared to be the judge, resigned this morning after learning that evidence had been suppressed, according to Alec's lawyers. Three additional prosecutors resigned during the pre-trial hearings. Ms. Morrisey was an absolute embarrassment in court. I have never seen a prosecutor say they want to be a witness and then be sworn in. She needs to disappear for a year or two. No justice for Haleyna, as I believe Hannah will also be released. As I read it; when Morresy testified as a witness about the ammo logged under a separate case number, she took it upon herself to act as Judge, Defence and Jury. This was all based on speculative presumption, that she alone decided was not relevant, as to the origins of the live ammo. For ANY officer of the court to deny such evidence being put forward, is bad enough. However, to do it on such a "potentially" crucial bit of evidence, is outside the limits of acceptable behavior or judgment !

      @TheKrangled 23 дні тому +12

      @@Moonbeamer7 He is absolutely NOT responsible for checking the weapon. Anyone saying this does not know anything about how firearms are supposed to be handled on a movie set.
      In short..
      If a weapon is to be fire with either blanks or live rounds, the armorer will be the one loading the weapon and the one responsible for it. They will load the firearm at the last possible moment before filming begins. They will hand the firearm to the actor. Filming begins, firearm is discharged, filming ends. The armorer then takes the firearm away from the actor and ensures it is safe and clear.
      At no point is an actor responsible for ensuring firearm safety. That is not their job, and it is not their job for a good reason. They DO NOT have the knowledge or experience required to ensure safety. This is not a firing range. This is not your uncle's acreage. This is not a simple controlled environment. This is a movie set with dozens, potentially hundreds, of people moving in different directions and with different purposes. There are an infinite number of chances for any loser to walk up and start messing with guns. This is why the responsibility falls to the armorer. It is THEIR job to handle and be responsible for firearms at all times. They are the ones that check them in and out of storage. They are the ones that load and unload them. They are the ones that have the ultimate responsibility for every single round fired on that set. No exceptions.
      I've seen plenty of backyard plinkers act as if they know everything there is to know about firearms and spew the standard response of "well they should JUST LEARN how to do that!" This does not apply. Do not bring it up. You are wrong. Even actors that have considerable experience with firearms (Keanu Reeves, for example, who's probably been through more firearms courses than your average operator at this point) are not responsible for firearms on a set. This is not a bunch of friends gathering around to make loud noises with metal plates.
      So no, he is not responsible for checking the weapon.
      But you also misunderstand his culpability as a producer.
      The armorer, who was already convicted of manslaughter, is the one that had the criminal liability here. Baldwin, as the producer, had a CIVIL liability for his hiring of an incompetent armorer. That does not in any way rise to the level of criminality. While the armorer was not highly experienced, she had enough to know how to run things. She just didn't. At all. Baldwin should have known to step in and replace her with someone better, but not doing so does not meet any sort of standard for criminal responsibility. Civil? Yes, and that's why Baldwin settled with the deceased's family years ago at this point. That was handled quickly.
      But criminal? No. You in your backyard picking up a gun and firing it in someone's general direction? Yes. An actor, on a movie set, where culpability is moved to a trained professional? No. Absolutely not.

    This question is for Vinnie , why is it ok that Nick M hasn’t turned all evidence over to the defense in the Delphi case or does it make a difference who the judge is?

    I am floored!!!! Witnesses, especially police et al testifying on the stand are meant to be neutral. Their goal is the truth, not to side with prosecution or defense. Having said that, I have never seen a witness such as crime scene investigator Popell be so blatantly sided with prosecution. " Can you restate your really long question" she says with attitude. I hope she loses her job for everything that was revealed about her and her work during this trial!

    Even though I don't agree with AB's politics, I am totally satisfied with his acquittal because this case was nothing more than a witch hunt from the beginning. Now I'm left wondering about the validity of the guilty verdict of the Armorer. It would seem that an appeal is in order for her!

    Morresy stated (inter alia & circa) "she didn't know at the time that the ammo was going to be logged on a docket under a different case number". However, after the fact and several months before the Baldwin trial even began, she WAS TOLD! This being the case, she only starts to disclose this information when Balwins defence team discover this happened and then ask for a separate motion. What struck me (with my degree in hindsight) is Morresy (virtually) protested to the Judge, as to how Baldwins defence got this info, in the same way judge Granville did with Lawyer Steel in the YSL case!

      I think he does have some responsibility since he pulled the trigger. He denies pulling it but it was pulled while being pointed at 2 people when it wasn’t suppose to be and it fired. Even if it had blanks that is a big mess up. There was no direction at that time he was just practicing with it. It went off. Hannah’s trial went over - very detailed - how that gun has to have force on the trigger to go off. Someone pulled the trigger. Everyone in the church was supper supposed when they heard it because that was not suppose to happen at all.

      @@britth5333 Yes that is true and he is going to pay for that mistake in his civil trials. I mean. Who really cares if he did 18 months in prison or not? Everyone is acting like he was on trial and was going to get 50 to life. By the way, can you believe that Kari tried to charge him with up to 5 years in prison and thought that everyone was going to forget that the incident happened before the changes in the maximum sentence for Involuntary Manslaughter involving a firearm in New Mexico went from 18 months max to 5 years?
