  • Right now the Tone Master Pro doesn't use scenes or snapshots, but each footswitch used in a preset can have up to 5 footswitch assignments, and each of those assignments can affect multiple blocks in a preset. Isn't this starting to sound very familiar?

I find Line 6 users dying on the cross of “it doesn’t have snapshots” hilarious 😂
I used a Stomp XL for a couple of years, as soon as I swapped it out for TMP (4cm wet/dry rig) I noticed a huge sonic difference
Seamless switch presets with footswitch assigns and Spillover options per fx are 🔥
And I certainly don’t miss the 8 block max bs

I prefer the TMP simplicity to the scenes and snapshots of the competitors. I never thought I’d be a touchscreen guy, but I love it too. If I understood my Fractal FM3 better, I’d probably use it a lot more. The tone is unbelievable, but it’s so difficult to use.

Doug, I am having difficulty with the on/off function. Before I program the footswitches, I have to have my chain of blocks in the default on/off status that I want, correct? I then go into the on/off parameter and add the blue diamond below the blocks that I want to stay on, correct? For some reason, when I do this, I am not getting the desired result of having certain blocks turn off. Thank you for you time.

Daniel - the On/Off parameter turns on a block that is turned off, or it can turn off a block that is turned on. It can be a little tricky! Let me know more in detail what you are trying to set up, and I'll see how I can help you.

Thanks so much for these vids on TMP. I’ve just got mine and trying to get my head around it
My question is can I set up a typical 3 Channel amp rig in effects mode
Eg three amp blocks , clean , rhythm, lead and have the 1,2,3 switch turn on the wanted channel without “stacking “ them ?
Or can this only be done in preset mode
Would be so convenient to have it all on one board
    Thank you

You could have your Clean be your base, then Rhythm could be one button and Lead be another. Or maybe Rhythm could be your base. That might make it easier to switch back and forth. But no, there's no way to go directly from 1 to 2, etc unless you use 3 separate presets. Hope this helps!

@@DougBsDigitalDen yeah presets are the best way, was just hoping to have everything on one page and not have to go between preset and FS mode for more options !
But it’s one button so no big deal
      Thanks

Is there no Noise Gate implemeted ? A lot of "Buzz" in the preset.
I think its not really compareable with Scenes and Snapshots in fractal or Line6 devices.

Noise gate is not turned on. Every amp in the TM Pro has a built-in noise gate but it is not being used in this preset. Good catch! No, it's it's not a direct 1-for-1 with scenes or snapshots, but for most guys I'm betting that it would work just fine. If you need gapless you can go from preset to preset instantly, which the Fractal and Line 6 units can't do.

The TMP uses dumb switching in that the switch that's assigned to a block dosn't actually know the block's state. It just send a 'invert status' command, which is really pretty useless and is why the tmp can NOT do scenes. If you want a 'scene' in a preset you need to assign blocks that are ONLY turned on when you press that footswitch, which just makes for a lot of redundancy and a waste of processing power.

Thats cool. I know it has gapless switching, but I still prefer snapshots.
