    Hi Damion, Ive had my Tone Master Pro for about a week now, my first modeling rig. My first impression wasn't all that great as just scrolling trough the factory presets. It sounded artificial, over processed, and most presets unusable in my band. Watched every single one of your videos on the TMP this week and now Im blown away and really enjoying it! Just a few things Ive taken from your videos: 1. There are so many options but STOP jumping around with gear and really take your time working with one amp and effects in a user preset to dial in a sound and rig. This approach brings the best rewards. 2. The dramatic high cut filter section on the microphone page really makes a HUGE difference in getting authentic tone.I would have never known to even think of doing this without your videos. 3. Using parallel signal chain to separate effects like delay and reverb. Really cleans them up nicely. 4. How to run two amps in the same preset is pretty amazing. 5. For live use users like me, sometimes less is more! Keep up the great videos and thank you for helping me get so much enjoyment out of my rig!

    Great videos Damion. Subscribed.
    I’ve had my TMP for 3 weeks. I am transitioning from decades in the tube world. Here’s what I’ve learned so far.
    1. Factory presets are simply a showcase of some possibilities. Almost all of them are not useful with out tweaking out of the box. I don’t believe they are meant to be.
    2. I setup my own presets to use as a virtual pedalboard. This is the easiest way for me to comprehend so far.
    3. Different guitars need different presets. My Strat preset doesn’t play really well with my Les Paul. My Les Paul preset works well with a couple of my Telecasters and not so well with others.
    4. It takes time to understand each pedal, just like real pedals.
    5. I’m not tripping over miles of cables.
    6. I frickin’ love the TMP. Endless possibilities. The UI makes sense to me and works well with my short attention span. Making the purchase has been one of the best gear decisions I’ve made in a long time. Bottom line is it sounds really good and programming it is quick and relatable. As I gain knowledge and experience, more functionalities of the TMP are there waiting for me. I do feel a little sad when I look over at my tube amps. I’m not getting rid of them yet, but they’re definitely going to collect some dust.

      Dude, this is the best summary and exactly how I feel hahaha. I don't think I'll sell my 1965 DRRI, but i hate how much money I have sitting around collecting dust. The good thing is that Fender tube amps tend to hold value really well. You're not tripping over miles of cables, but there's still a lot going on with my TMP hahaha. I have mine routed into a DI for live streaming and out to 2 FRFR cabs for when I'm just jamming. I'll take this trade off though for the ease of use. Tube amps are great, but you can't beat digital right now. My back AND ears agree hahaha

    the part where you first discovered the boost on maximus drive was priceless!!! Showed how much you enjoyed the tone!!! Would like to see more info on Gig view/setlist/songs mode of the TMP. Keep these lighthearted videos coming, very informative and pleasant to watch!!! 👍👍🤘🤘 I use my TMP 6x/week with both acoustic and full band gigs. Hope this thing holds up with the constant use. Gratitude, for the small eureka moments like the one you had with the maximus drive! lol, such joy!

I'm grateful I've found something I love so much in life (guitar / music). Thank you for hanging out with me! I am about to shoot a video on acoustic tones - I have no script planned so expect a similar vibe haha

    Hey, just wanted to share a tip, which you may or may not be aware of. In a previous video, I believe you mentioned one thing you missed in the TMP that other modelers had was the ability to down tune (for example to Eb standard). It is possible to do this! First, add the effect Chromatic Pitch Shifter to your patch. Then, on the pedal, change the pitch to your desired tuning. The number represents frequency hz. So, 100hz = one fret / half-step, 200hz = two frets / whole-step. Set it to -100 for a half step down (-200 for a whole step down, etc). Then, turn the mix to 100. And there you have it! I would also recommend playing with the Tone control. I found the default 50 resulted in a sound that was a bit muffled/muddy. Once I changed the tone to 100, it sounds very, very good in my opinion! Good enough that if you have only 1 song in your set that is in Eb, you can quickly click this on for that single song and not have to re-tune the whole guitar.

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  10 місяців тому

      I believe this feature is monophonic tho, meaning chords will be down pitched, but notes will be. I may be wrong, I’ll have to check. Thanks for this my dude! 🤘

    I was in the market of TMP switching from QC and came into your channel. The review is awesome!

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  10 місяців тому +1

      I was on the fence between the QC and TMP before I ultimately bought the TMP. If NeuralDSP could deliver on what they promised (plugin support), I probably would be a QC guy. What really made me buy the TMP over the QC was build quality, UI, and Fender clean amps. The QC's power supply is a joke and looks fragile in comparison to the TMP Tank haha. I'm honestly a big Tone Master BRO at this point, I really dig this unit. Keep me posted with your experience as you come over to the TMP ecosystem. When I need some really out there tones for creativity's sake, I'll power on my AxeFx3 or use the Rabea plugin. I just want a synthesizer on my board, I really hope Fender makes this happen in a firmware update.

      @@damionandyseems to me that the long game is where the money is with modeling, it’s been out for 5 minutes and already killer
      The TMP will only get better from here and with 8 cores it seems anything is possible in the future

      @@QuickSticks8771 I agree. I’m an early adopter hoping for this haha. When I saw the processing power, that’s when I felt comfortable buying it. People who worry about fender dropping support are forgetting how big modelers are right now. That would be a horrible business decision, most of my buddies playing big shows are doing so with a modeler

    For a live rig with the TMP do you recommend the Fender FR models or a physical cabinet?

    • @damionandy
      @damionandy  4 місяці тому +1

      I'd go FRFR cabs all the way. Idk the size of your band or the venues you're playing, but if you are playing through FOH or through your band's PA, you could probably get by without a FRFR cab; however, I am used to bringing an amp around. So, for me, the FRFR cab is my "amp" and I really just use it to push some air on stage and double as a monitor. You really have a ton of flexibility. Feel free to reach out to me on IG if you want to go back and forth for a live rig.

    Hey man great video, I'm looking forward to see your comments on how the gig went or the rehearsals with the TMP , does it sounds great??, did you had any problems?, because we all know that when your playing live something happens for example one pedals mess with the hole chain or maybe its out of power. One UA-camr that returned his TMP because the Fractal its better( Really bro?? that thing its on another league) and shows a clip of a live show using the TMP and I think it sound really good , I don't understand why so much hate, anyway keep the good work bro

    • @damionandy

      I have 13 shows under my belt with the Tone Master Pro and no issues. It saved me one gig, our piano DI went out and I just routed the piano through the TMP and sent it to FOH. I have an AxeFx3, I haven't turned it on since getting the TMP. I'm not playing shows big enough to really need rack mounted gear. The only "issue" i've had is the bluetooth streaming. There isn't a great way to blend volume, so I just had to adjust it on my phone. But the BlueTooth worked flawlessly! This is going to be true with any modeler (because it's really the PA system), but the low end can be boomy. You need to watch out for too much bass coming through. In my videos, I talk about doing frequency cuts. If your low end is too strong coming through the PA system, cut aggressively on your low end.

    Wondering if you’ve ever had this issue
    I am making presets on the TMP and notice if there is a patch that involves the Maximus drive ,whenever I switch between presets I get loud digital pops and bangs
    If I switch multiple times with that pop transition ,after 4-5 times the unit freezes on the patch with Maximus drive
    The patch is usable and the unit shows the title change but the ui and the tone stays stuck on the Maximus included preset
    Have to turn it off and reset for it to come back to normal
    It happens every time and more so with custom made presets involving one or more of that pedal
    Have you ever experienced this or could you try it for me to see if it’s a universal software glitch or if I have a dodgy unit
    As far as I’m aware there is NO customer service for this ??
