Hello again CP In your time turning wrenches. Have you used either the Gearwrench 81235 or Sunex 8855 Magnetic universal joint sockets and Extensions sets? Both look very similar to my eyes. Which one has the stronger magnets? I 've had the Gearwrench package in my hands. It does not mention it. Does the Sunex version? Or is there another brand or idea that you may know more about? Again thank you
@@BrandoDamo Hello again Brando Damo and CP the tool addict. Do these sockets come in Twelve Point and SAE/Standard? Almost all of the Hardware on Aircraft is twelve points with a few Six points. No metric hardware as of yet. My idea is to keep tools and parts together, No dropping or losing of either. That's a good way to ground an Aircraft until the lost tool or part is found. Also a very good way of losing your job. Thank you for another Great Video
If you end up getting them look at the RS3450MH version. It also has a hex shape on the drive end so you can use them with wrenches or ratcheting wrenches it tight fitting areas.
New to your channel. I have worked in a Japanese company before. From time to time, I find something amazing. Not only the hand tools are great but even their bulk bin, skid box, pallet box, bin box, gaylord, or octabin boxes for metal storage were pretty good. The best item so far for me are the toilets. Oh ya even their plumbing tools and tape.
Always enjoy your videos 👍. I have the same set of the 3/8" drive nut grip sockets and have found them very handy as well. I have an order arriving Monday that has the 72 tooth 3/8" flex head ratchet that you showed and I can't wait to try that out and compare to my 36 tooth ratchets. It's impressive that Koken raised the tooth count while lowering the back drag and increasing the strength of the mechanism. What type of work do you use these tools for?
Great to hear you’re trying out the 72 tooth. I think you’ll love it! I’ve been using these mainly on my never ending personal projects. I’m a Toyota 4x4 guy, especially Landcruisers, but I’m also into dirt bikes, and enduros.
@@BrandoDamo cool. What do you have for land cruisers? I've always thought it would be cool to have a land cruiser or older Toyota truck. I used to have a 2007 Tacoma that I bought new and really liked it. Now I have a 2004 Honda Vamos Hobio JDM kei van that was imported from Japan to Canada last year. I converted it to a work van and use my Koken tools to do all my own repairs and maintenance on it. Japanese tools to work on a Japanese van 😁 If you have any interest in seeing the conversion that I did, there's an episode on my channel showing the process and how I use it for my work. Looking forward to more of your tool videos.
I have a 1984 FJ60 which is the blue rig in my profile picture. I’ve been rebuilding everything on it for the past few years. I’ve even used it as my daily driver for extended periods. I also have a FJ Cruiser which is very capable off road, and comfortable on long road trips. I do a lot of camping, and over landing/off-roading kind of trips. I think it’s great that you got a JDM van, I’ll check it out. I’d love to get a little Sambar or some kind of mini kei truck for hauling stuff around. I almost bought a JDM BJ70 Landcruiser a couple of years ago. I’ll probably get one eventually. I’m a big fan of using my Japanese tools on my Japanese cars and bikes too!
@@BrandoDamo sounds like you have some great rigs 👍 I've found the kei trucks and vans are such an efficient use of space. Lots of utility and capability in a very small package. I'm sure you would enjoy one if you get one at some point.
I didn't realise how smaller the 1/4 zeal sockets are, compared to the 1/4 nut grip. (nut grips are significantly shorter than my standard 1/4 sockets. So I use them a lot in work due to that)
For nut grip in 1/4 they have all sizes no skips 5-14mm, their normal sockets come with no skip but zeal have skips for 9mm in all drive sizes. The 1/2 zeal has a ton of skips also. 3/8 nut grip skips 9, 20, and 23mm from 8-24mm.
Hello again Brando Damo Thank you for another Great Video. Does this come in 12-points sockets and SAE/Standard? As a Aircraft Mechanic most of my hardware will be 12-points and some in 6-point. No metric hardware as of yet. And were Counting twenty five plus years. On both Military and Commercial Aircraft experience. I do like the idea of the spring and skip the magnets altogether. But as you may remember. I was asking you about the Magnetic Universal joint sockets and Extensions. I don't think the metal filings will be a problem. Because the Magnet is part the extension or universal joint sockets. Although, I 've been wrong before lol.
Love the nut grips pretty much stopped using magnetic all together

Wish they offered more sizes in the deep range. They’re remarkably well made and I’d love to replace my Wera deep set with these.
Woooooo koken!!! I may get these!
They’re worth a look!

They really do make a lot of fantastic products! A Toto toilet is on my wishlist!
Cool. Just ordered the 3/8 drive nut-grip set (metric, 8 pcs). Can't wait to try them out. I need to get that spinner adapter as well.
I cannot live without the spinner adapters! I like the Nepros ones a little better, but I use both the Nepros and Koken ones constantly.

The zeal are incredibly small and excellent quality. They come in handy so often because of their extremely low profile.
@@BrandoDamo I just used the stubby compact 3/8 today. Saved my arse
Great Tools 👍 lengths here from Portugal 👍🤝🇵🇹
Thank you! 🤗
Exactly how hard is it to get socket off, say if you needed an extension in a blind hole? Will I get my socket back?
It holds onto the socket quite well, and I haven’t had any issues with it. Although I do favor locking extensions in blind holes!
Was wondering if they offered all sizes. It drives me nuts that they skip sizes in the kit.
I believe you can order all metric sizes up to 24mm.

Hi Brando, do you have the part number for the 3/8" nut grip socket set?
No N on the end, just Brando 🙂
Part number: RS3450M/8
@@BrandoDamo - Sorry about that. I will remove the N.

Unfortunately they do not have 12 point nutgrip sockets, nor do they have them in SAE. Sorry!

@@georgeferlazzo7936Koken 12 point SAE nut grip sockets are now available.
Is there an American friendly website to purchase these tools from?
palmac.net is Koken’s official dealer in the US I believe and I think you can buy from kokenusa.com now too.
3/8 in drive not 3/4 inch drive. awesome sockets
Did I say 3/4”? Oops that would be pretty hefty!
