You may already know this now, but as a user of the greatsword for 500 hours, I only recently figured out you can Slap directly after a tackle.
All you do is hold right trigger and press your attack button after tackle. This opens up faster rolls and slingers after tackle. Highly useful.
Why this bit of info was never displayed to me in game, I’ll never understand. JWS is still a great option after tackle though

The best great sword guide out there. Doesn't waste time explaining the basics. You can read those in the Training Area in game. But I haven't seen all of these moves and tricks in any other video compiled like this.

Fun tip: If you use the glider mantle, you can clutch onto a monster, jump off, and then enter glide.
This lets you do mount damage no matter where you are, and is good on taller monsters (deviljho, safi, shara etc) since you have plenty of time to charge and be out of the way of attacks since you're a lot higher. Works on any monster, tho
