I rode Salt Lake City for years with no problems (Surron)
It has been the same here for years. I have passed many police over the last 2 years in the road and never had an issue until recently. I think there is just getting to enough sur-ron type bikes out there that they have to start doing something.
I’m thinking of getting a pro ss or a talaria for commuting to school and gym in west valley and Taylorsville but is it even worth it at this point? Or would I just get my bike impounded?
Here is the thing. I think it could be worth it if you try to register it. They are great bikes for that purpose. Here are the things to think about. If you register it. You will have to pay taxes on it, insure it, etc. Also another thing to consider is that Sur-ron's have an actual VIN / Serial that can show up in the database making them much easier to register than other bikes. Keep that in mind. If all this sounds like way too much to deal with, its probably not worth.
Hey I got a question I rode by a police yesterday saw him slowed down and went on sport mode he waved me down and said that they are illegal and that if he sees me again he will impound it how strict is Utah cops getting I just want to ride my bike on the street and stunt it I’ve thought about buying an upgraded razor rsf any thoughts????
I feel like there are so many e-moto's out there now they can't just ignore it anymore. I used to ride by cops all the time with no issue. I think the safest thing to do now would be to try and get it registered.
As for stunting. Lol that is very risky since they will hit you with a reckless driving citation which can be very expensive.
Did the cop have you pick your kid up or something, I ride around and I’ve seen kids pulled over around Lehi
They let him go. Just gave him the speech about the impounding and the illegal aspect of it. I work in Lehi and I haven’t seen it, but I don’t doubt it.
I work with law enforcement in lehi, and they now have a zero tolerance policy for emotos. If they see you, they will impound it. It's pretty sad to see.
I appreciate this heads up, because last year I was commuting on the train with the sur-ron and riding to work from Lehi Station. It is very sad for sure :(

Thank God in Reno, it's such a bike centric city, must the cops ask questions more curious about them, as most of them own them now as well, so I've been commuting full time for 3 years by e motos & never had an issue, only "POLICE" I deal with are the spandex warriors in their gravel bikes & Karen's with their bitchy husband, "Karl".... 😆
Do you have to register them in reno? or do cops just not care?
