Spirited Away is both a masterpiece and an art.
@@noone39373 chill out dude I have seen you in almost every comment that says "spirited away is good" if you don't like it then there's nothing wrong with it, but stop slapping your opinion on people's faces. Everyone has their own opinions.

It's no surprise that Pixar has a ton of movies on this list
They're too good to be with Disney.
yea because pixar has mainstream advantage and multiple critics have admited to not caring about the animated award but rather picked movies that their kids enjoyed. Oscars are a fucking joke.

Wall-E for me was one of the most incredible films i ever saw and 100% deserved the oscar. The story, the imagery, the lack of dialogue and so many more factors impacted my 10 year old self in a way i cant describe.

Shrek doesn't deserve an Oscar,he deserves a Nobel
lmao nobel is not "better" than oscars, its literally two completely different categories. An Oscar is the best achievement u could win as a movie, its the highest honor for cinema. Nobel prizes are completely different awards that honor other areas, like literature and physics. Ur comment makes no sense

The fact that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was animated instead of live action and that it was anything but a traditional Spider-Man story were all signals to not get our hopes up, but Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse blew all expectations out of the water. The revolutionary animation was unlike anything we had ever seen and made it feel like we were watching a comic book. Miles Morales' journey to discover that anyone can wear the mask was at times heartwarming and at others downright tragic. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse surprisingly beat Disney and PIXAR for the Best Animated Feature Oscar.

I wholeheartedly believe that if these awards were being given out in 1998, Prince of Egypt would win no questions asked. That movie was beautiful and deserves an Oscar for best picture
Toy Story 3 took every adult in the audience back to their youth. The film especially resonated with those who were Andy's age when the first Toy Story came out and grew up with these characters. Anyone who had a cherished childhood toy can identify with this touching story. Although the film reminded us why we love this franchise, it opened our eyes to the importance of change. Toy Story 3 is both a goodbye and the beginning of a new chapter.
Everything you just said is pure facts, BUT…..
I still think How to train your dragon should’ve won. It introduced one of the best, if not THE best, relationship between a “pet” and his owner in any movie ever in the form of Hiccup and Toothless. + the music when they take their first flight together by John Powell is just legendary
@@thijmen5295 I'm inclined to agree with you. I also think it's a travesty neither Tangled nor Megamind were even nominated. HTTYD to this day is my favourite animated movie of all time.
And then the fourth film happened….
On that note, Coco is a name that will be remembered for some time and not just because of that Oscar winning song. This PIXAR film is a love letter to the Day of the Dead and the beautiful country of Mexico. Coco is about the universal language of music and how it connects us both in life and in death. The film's toe tapping soundtrack is matched by its visual splendor, painting a dazzling portrait of the afterlife that strangely feels livelier than real life. The film's themes of redemption, forgiveness and the power of listening are sure to resonate with multiple generations. With Coco, 2017 was a truly great year for animated movies about the importance of family and culture.
Studio Ghibli is unmatched in its ability to transport audiences to extraordinary worlds. Hayao Miyazaki's imagination is something to behold, and Spirited Away is a superb example of his creativity. Spirited Away takes you on a visceral journey where you truly feel all the highs and lows of Chihiro.
The stakes in this movie are high. That is made known from the beginning when Chihiro's parents become pigs. Chihiro turns from a scared and lost girl to an autonomous hero. Using unfiltered displays of emotion, every struggle feels real, and every victory feels earned. Seeing her conquer a magical yet intimidating world is extremely rewarding.
When it comes to pushing the boundaries of animation, WALL-E went to infinity and beyond. There is a reason why film critic A.O. Scott declares WALL-E breaks new ground. WALL-E took full advantage of the medium with a practically dialogue free beginning that relied on sound design, music and emotive characters to tell the story. While the second half is more exposition heavy, characters still speak in a timeless manner while touching upon timely themes. The film's portrayal of the future is eerily more relevant today than it was in 2008.
I think that "How to train your dragon" also deserves one of these prizes, don't you?
The first one deserved it, but against Tiy Story 3 it's impossible to win ^^
And I'm not a big fan of HTTYD 2 and 3, so I don't think they get robbed.. Lego and Klaus should have won these respectives years

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the final product of years of passionate work and dedication. Animated unlike anything audiences have ever seen before, this telling of the traditional Spider-Man narrative reaped the benefits that animation follows; unrestrained imagination and endless creative possibilities.
And this year Soul won best animated feature and it’s Pete Doctor’s third Oscar win since Up in 2010 and Inside Out in 2016. He was also nominated for Toy Story in 1996 and Monsters, Inc in 2002.
There was no Best Animated Feature award at the Oscars back in Toy Story's age. The Best Animated Feature award was created in 2002.
Oh wait I forgot other types of awards exist. Sorry.
And the score for Soul meant another Oscar for Trent Reznor
Soul is proof that PIXAR Animation Studios is still capable of creating powerful and emotionally resonant works of art. Soul accomplishes what PIXAR Animation Studios does best and sticks with its audience thanks to its timeless and emotional messages and themes that affects adults and children.
Spirited Away has earned its Oscar with dazzling animation and a fascinating, fantastic story.

Coco is one of Disney's most bright and colorful looking features came in 2017, and it remains one of the most emotional, down-to-earth, yet incredibly upbeat animations they have released in recent years.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse captures the indescribable feeling of reading a comic book for the first time, as the groundbreaking animated film used a creative computer graphics imagery style to bring the splash pages to life.
WALL-E was critically praised for its animation, story, voice acting, characters, visuals, score, use of minimal dialogue and scenes of romance.
2003 was an especially strong year for Disney. The animation realm was a trip under the sea that elevated animation to new heights. Where many movies come and go from theaters, Finding Nemo remained in the domestic top 10 for 11 weeks, eventually surpassing the Lion King as the highest grossing animated film at the time. The movie kept audiences coming back with its dazzling visuals, lovable characters and inspirational story. The film will enchant you with its underwater locales while simultaneously turning on the waterworks.
The writers have repeatedly been able to keep the essence of what makes Toy Story so great while ensuring that they are not simply recycling old plots. The characters still have the same personalities, as viewers get to go on a journey of discovery with them.
How to Train your Dragon 2 deserves an Oscar Academy Award for best animated feature.

TBH Did You Know That Anime Should've Won 2 Oscars If It Wasn't For That Stinker In 2013

The outstanding animation of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse plays like a living comic book, bringing some of the most stunning animation ever seen before on the big screen.
2008's groundbreaking animation from PIXAR is frequently considered one of the greatest animated movies ever made. WALL-E took the world by storm when the movie strikes awe in the hearts of those who saw it with its outstanding visuals, mature concept, musical score and out-of-this-world sound design.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a technical marvel in every respect and a ridiculously entertaining romp that won audiences over with its witty humor and surprisingly thoughtful emotional core.

Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece is an enchanting fairy tale that is filled with stunning imagery and plenty of interesting characters. Spirited Away is a film that stays in the recesses of your mind long after watching, making you yearn for a fantastical trip into the realm of spirits and magic.
The Incredibles has the compelling family dynamic of a drama and the thrilling action of a superhero movie, held together by a strong cast of incredibly likable characters.
Incredible visuals and a certain lovable character are enough for Frozen to stick in the minds of Disney fans for years to come, but its story, no matter how overplayed, one of Disney's best from the early 2010s.
The success of Inside Out, a surprisingly emotional 2015 animation that will always be a favorite movie for many Disney fans. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear are the five colorful emotions depicted in the heartwarming feature.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took animation to a completely new level and made the characters based on the iconic Marvel comics feel as though they were actually animated comics on the screen.
Every single frame of this movie was artistically innovative and broke new ground for what animated films can do in the future, especially in terms of comic book character movies.
this video just reminded me one thing:
"Go to the internet, get your sister, and relive your childhood again"
The relationship between the old and young characters is endearing, highlighting how two vastly different generations can find friendship and respect. Up is the best standalone PIXAR movie of all time, capturing multiple generations with its quirky concept, humor and heartwarming storyline.
The Boy and the Heron is absolutely gripping, telling a touching story that feels like Hayao Miyazaki handing off the baton to the next generation of filmmakers. Thanks to its enchanting animation and magical tone, the Boy and the Heron is one of the best fantasy animated films of recent years and a genuine step forward for the medium.

The Toy Story franchise has brought in four Academy Awards, with the third and fourth movies both winning best animated feature. Toy Story 3 hits every primal desire an audience wants from a great movie: laughter, tears, friendship and mortality. The unspoken bond between the characters in the furnace scene is palpable and makes Toy Story 3 one of the most rewatchable PIXAR movies of all time.

I've never seen a CGI animated movie that looks better than Rango. It's amazing how a 2011 animated movie looks better than Pixar movies in 2020. Way ahead of its time visually.
Rango is a blend of animated film, western and comedy in one project that deserves an honorable mention for its colorful and entertaining plot.
Coco is a touching story about family and death and one of the most rewatchable animated movies of the 2010s. Movies about families are endlessly rewatchable because they relate to so many people and are sure to tug on the heartstrings whenever fans need a good cry. The Incredibles captivated audiences and kept people talking for years, which is easily one of the most popular, beloved PIXAR films of all time.
Thanks to Brad Bird's beautiful writing and film direction, Ratatouille became Pixar's cinematic masterpiece in the field of animation, winning his next to second Best Animated Feature Academy Award.
Best... ...Pixar film... ...EVER!!! Great job, Mr. Bird. Thank U.
Up earned Michael Giacchino his second Academy Award nomination and thus far only won, and no one who has watched the movie and heard the score could argue that it was undeserved.
In Up, PIXAR delivers one of the most compelling love stories we have ever seen and in record time. In barely four minutes, they convey Carl and Ellie's life together, solely relying on visuals and Michael Giacchino's music that pulls the heartstrings. Just as life is full of ups and downs, you will be smiling one second and shedding a tear the next. This masterstroke of storytelling was both Disney's best moment of the year and the most talked about scene from any 2009 film.
Coco is a beautiful film. Well-deserved
Soul is a gorgeously life-affirming story about how passion feeds humans' search for meaning for life. The concept is creative and incredibly profound, serving as the backdrop of a perfectly written story that was sure to move even the coldest of hearts.
Ratatouille is one of the best PIXAR movies ever and is still beloved by the adults who grew up watching the animated film. Soul is one of the most mature PIXAR films due to tackling high concepts like pre-life, passion and purpose. The movie explores the idea that each person creates purpose in their life through the small moments they craft every day and that trying to find purpose through a single topic or experience will only lead to disappointment. Joe Gardner and 22 have one of the strongest dynamics in any PIXAR film, often flipping back and forth between who is the teacher and who is the student, which helps them both find a new appreciation for life.
The Incredibles has stood the test of time because the film explores the idea of getting old and struggling with middle age while remaining a fun and easy to enjoy action movie.

Big Hero 6 is a heartfelt story about loss and friendship and is considerably boosted by having plenty of enjoyable action sequences. Big Hero 6 combines science fiction, comedy and action into a family-friendly animated movie that will likely engage young and old viewers.
Ratatouille features an unlikely hero, WALL-E is a harsh realization, Up is a second chance at life, Brave is not the average princess movie, Coco is about breaking generational curses, and Soul explores a complicated topic.

One word: Epic.
Toy Story 3 was a great start to animation in the 2010s and proved that the hype surrounding the much-loved characters had nowhere near dwindled, even over a decade since the second movie. The Toy Story franchise has spanned generations and continually invited new viewers into the wonderfully enlivening world of toys and their lives when humans are not around.
WALL-E manages to deliver a heartwarming story that gripped audiences with stunning visuals and vitally important themes, such as humanity's environmental impact and consumerism, among others.
WALL-E won over the hearts of its audiences with a unique, heartwarming robot love story that remains highly praised and talked about to this day.
When I scroll through the comments I see 1 specific movie they talk about but I believe that without the others they wouldn't be the same the movies needed inspiration and that's what it gave us, certainly a marvel in our childhood
Ratatouille is another PIXAR classic animated movie about love, dreams and being true to yourself that has won the hearts of critics and fans.
WALL-E is considered one of the best PIXAR and animated movies ever, with its touching plot and important messages. WALL-E is a movie that does not get old, no matter how many times one revisits it, due to its inspiring nature that gives fans hope and a good time.
Zootopia offers a rich message to its audience, which goes well with the fun adventure, brilliant animation, and work of the cast whose characters keep kids more than entertained.
I have never seen any movie that comes closer to make feel what “Prince of Egypt” made me feel, that masterpiece is in another league.
I heart Pixar’s Up and it’s a tearjerker reminder that Ed Asner is now with Ellie
The animation in Up is beautiful and somewhat realistic, with the gorgeous scenery Carl Frederickson encounters in his adventure that feels as though audiences have stepped into a postcard with him. The story itself is charming and poignant and definitely falls into a feel-good category that is hard to resist.
The strong story and the beautiful music made Up a contender for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
In addition to being an animation milestone, Into the Spider-Verse will be remembered as one of the decades best superhero movies as well as an exceptional coming-of-age tale. Peter Parker is only a supporting player with the spotlight going to fan favorite Miles Morales. The film also makes room for several obscure characters who would not work nearly as well in live action. Into the Spider-Verse was born for animation and the entire movie is like a 3D comic book brought back to life. The style is complemented by involving drama, brilliant comedy and stellar action. Into the Spider-Verse is a film that opens Spider-Man and the animation medium up to a new universe of possibilities.
While nearly all of PIXAR movies were critical and commercial success stories throughout the 2000s and beyond, Up stands out as arguably their greatest achievement. Up is still one of the most widely beloved and critically successful PIXAR efforts and one of the few animated movies to earn a nomination for best motion picture at the Academy Awards. The way the film tackles themes of age and living life to the fullest easily struck a chord with audiences around the world, further compounded by its masterful opening sequence, widely considered by many to be the greatest opening minutes in film history, animation or otherwise. Up is heartbreaking but simultaneously life-affirming as well as one of the greatest triumphs of animation.
The movies of PIXAR Animation Studios are so widely respected and beloved because they contain great storylines and relevant messages no matter what age the audience is. These relatable and timeless films can make their fans grow attached to characters who go through struggles that audiences may have experienced, and their successes show that fans can overcome many difficulties in their own lives. The movies of PIXAR Animation Studios are capable of teaching lessons that have a lasting impact on their fans.
The resulting product of Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was nothing short of a masterpiece. The film was a triumph in stop-motion animation, a medium that requires a great deal of patience and a very talented team. The team behind the Curse of the Were-Rabbit cut no corners in their mission to create their feat of strength.
