The best part about the transformation are the steps omitted in the Bandai instructions. I consider it something of a miracle that I didn't break anything while combining my figure.
This Mecha G does indeed have an ankle rocker. It's just a little scary to access it because the plastic feet covers shift around, and that ankle ball joint is extremely tight. But it's there. and I agree that the chest parts should've been die-cast.
Sorry about your MG's chest piece ): That was the most harrowing part of assembling him for sure. I'm not sure if this is still possible since one of yours popped off, but did you know the two chest pieces actually clip together? That's what their tiny pegs are for! (For some reason, even on the box art, they don't have the chest pieces properly connected...) So perhaps you can still salvage your lost chest piece if it allows. Anyway, some combining gripes aside, loved this figure. Wish he could move his legs backwards more at the hip, but as is he looks amazing. Tons of detail all over! Another small tip, when fully assembled, you can actually angle Garuda's nozzles towards each other about 45 degrees, allowing you to enough room to free that shoulder protrusion without having to rotate the entire arm back into place. As always, great review, and glad you included the transformation process.
Hey Steve! Great review of MechaGodzilla there! Aren't you gonna revive MechaGodzilla (1974) when he's released? And have you seen Devilman Crybaby yet, it's one of the most badass anime I watched and it's available in Netflix. So check it out and play Devilman no Uta when a Figuarts or Figma figure of Devilman and Akira Fudo is released!

Vegeta what's in your mouth
Help me. I can't stop replaying the intro
1:47 it was a box within a box. Not to mention the shipping box. So, it was a box in a box which also had a box inside. lol
boxception

I have a distinct feeling that this design is what inspired the design of the Moguera we see in Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla.
Mechagodzilla (heisei) was originally comprised of 17 different vehicles. But, they were simplified into the gundalva and naga.

That intro was tge most beautiful thing i have ever seen
This MechaGodzilla is really cool! His counter part may not have been necessary... But this guy is fantastic!
I dunno.... Makes me a bit frustrated. Either way, it would be a very ugly Rodan...
If there was a fire Rodan repaint, it would be likely he would be at the same price point.
It looks like a combination of Showa and Millenium Mechagodzilla to me.
Best thing there’s a box inside a box :D
I think this desgin would fit in the monster planet universe
When I first transformed mine I forgot to fold up the cockpit piece between his legs. I noticed that 2 weeks later lol
0:18 that's a cool shot
Way to expensive tho lol
That intro, was good.
a very LITTY lil' figure
