If only LOL. One of my cats sometimes had either an accident or had her poopy not fall in the litter box but stuck to her. It would drop on the floor somewhere when she walked. Gladly it was never diarrhea 😜 She also rarely seemed to not pee in her litter box, like 4times max in thr 6,5years I had her, so instead of cleaning it up, she used to give me some extra work, looking sweet as always. And one time almost like "I'm sorry Mommy, please don't be mad 😥" No sweet baby, I can never and have never felt mad at something she did. How could I? Especially with her, because she must have come from an abusive (kicking, hitting, neglect ) home but somehow she took a trust in me. She dared to come on my lap, she let me rub her tummy. But she was startled quickly. It took two and a half years for her not to jump of my lap, confused and scared. She was halfway in the past and halfway in the here and now. To get her to come back to here and now I called her and let her sniff my hand I put on the couch and that always worked to make her feel safe again. But yeah... Shoes and feet took long. I think 5years before she finally dared to walk after me or beside me. And the food stealing began too lol. But that was when I was at home. Cheeky little kitty. She LOVED yoghurt. When I sat on the couch she would always try to get a lick. I did give her some from my finger but otherwise I had to move the bowl up down, right, left to eat it. Then she would climb behind my back pretending to go sleep there. Uhuh. Then why did I see a white paw from the corner or my eye going carefully down towards the yoghurt bowl? 😂 I always let her lick the last bit. I asked my vet if it was OK and it was. Her favorite was banana yoghurt. Anyway, knowing her likely background I was extra careful not to let her think I would be mad at her for an accident. (het anxiety at the vet the first time was so extreme he told me that if he had been thevet making the call if she was adoptable or not, he would have euthanized her as he felt there was no chance of rehabilitation. So yeah, it was really bad. But I'm super happy she was brave enough to give me the chance to prove "hoomans" are not all mean people kicking you around, but to provide her a Safe Place and her Forever Home. ❤️ Edit:woops that was a little long...

Im so sorry if she’s not with you now 🥺. I’m also relieved to hear what your vet said about the yogurt. Mine goes crazy for the stuff and I have to try eat it in secret because she gives me that look that I always give in to. I was unsure if even a little bit was harmful. Phew! I got my cat after I retired so I'm home most of the day. While he ignors me there are periods when he will jump on my desk and sleep right next to me. If I get up he will follow me around the house until it's nap time and when I nap in my recliner he will jump up and sleep between my legs and at night, because I sleep on my side, he will crawl up under my arm insisting I put my arm around him and he will sleep nearly all night except for food breaks, then he comes back, head butts my arm until I raise it up so he can crawl under my arm and stay. Somehow he knows when the alarm is going off and will get up and sit by the clock, occasionally turning off the alarm with one tap of his paw. I do believe the old boy feels like he is caring for me and "allows" me to feed him and clean his liter box ..... LOL
I work at home a lot, so my cat is used to having me around but he nearly always sleeps with me, somewhere between or at the back of my legs when I pull them up and he starts a routine of washing himself when we go to bed. And I love this habit of his. What I hate is, that he opens the blinds: they are wooden panels when he wants to look out, thus letting the street lamp shine into the room and he meouws loudly when I am giving him food. This last one is the worse it gets on my nerves occasioanlly and he does not get it. He likes sleeping with me even when I have a nap, but at times he ignores bedtime and spends the whole night in an armchair.
All my 3 cats wait by the door when its time for me to come home. One of them is deaf by birth so most of the time he realizes that I'm home only after he sees me cause he'll be sleeping. He jumps up and stretches as soon as he sees me walking in. I like to think that it's his way of welcoming me home! All of them have their own unique squeaks or cries when they see after a long day!😊
I'll send your kitty a sympathy card! Lol. I'm retired too, best thing I could have done for my 24 year old since that's when she lost her hearing. I was proud to be her new ears. She is at the Rainbow Bridge now, been more than 3 years. My Only Sunshine 💔
My cat rules my life, knows how to get his own way, and sit and look at me , when its takes his fancy jump on me, wakes me up at what ever time that suits him, marches me to the kitchen to be feed, when i am in kitchen watches my every move, but i would not have it any other way, he has been in my life now 8 years and the best friend i have ever had, every cat will have a mind of there own, and love you in a very special cat way.
Mine too and super loudly. Sometimes I feel like he doesn't even know hes meowing. At this point I think it's a reflex for him, Like breathing. He would meow mid yawn, in the middle of chewing orndrinking something. Sometimes he would be staring blankly into space, as cats do, but he would meow non stop in a constant tempo. I've gotten used to it but not when it's 5am

When I was a kid I asked my mom why cats sleep all day, and my mom said it's because they chase mice all night. One night I came downstairs at 3am to watch, but they were still asleep.
I think my Poppy sleep when we are out, but I never missed to say bye to her when I go out 🥰🤣 Only once when I dont have a key from my apartment and wait my mum to come home shes meow and jump on the door because she knows how i walk and wanna open the door to me 😭 btw she always waiting for me on same place sit when she hear that i am open the door.. I had to go away for a few days and usually when I come home my kitty is bug eyes and paranoid.I got concerned when I was gone this time and asked my deceased husband to take care of her.I came home and she was better than fine.loving no meowing at door.I almost had to wake her!godsend💝thanks George💝

We live in Florida and we line our windows with aluminum foil with the shiny side out to reflect out the sun's heat. So our 2 indoor only Siamese/Calico cat girls never have looked out the window. I guess to them our house is all there is. They are aware of the front door but seem to think it is another "outside" room and show no interest at all in going there. They both do however like to sniff your hand after you've been outdoors and get the smells. This is especially true after messing with my spices in the front garden. But I think they are happy with us and each other.
Our cat sits by the door and waits. I can tell she's been the whole time by how hot that spot on the floor gets and by how long she needs to stretch after getting up. She's all stiff from sitting there for hours. I can hear her meow as I go downstairs. Surprisingly loyal for a cat. She's also great at playing fetch. I think she's secretly a dog in Russian blue disguise. Lol.
There are videos just for cats that are a few hours long..maybe that would give her something to watch and help her separation anxiety..or a kitten if u can have 2!
When I'm gone; I leave the TV on for my cat. He likes to sleep where he can hear me and my family talk. Having the TV on kinda helps since he sleeps in comfort with hearing voices.
My younger cat chews plastic when she thinks nobody is watching... :/ Can't really blame her, as it makes a fun sound and probably feels good on her teeth, but I'd rather not risk her swallowing pieces of it. My older cat tries to steal food off of plates when she thinks nobody's looking. She's not as good at being sneaky as she thinks she is XD.
My best guess is "MeOw?! mEoW!? MEOW!!" loudly and panicked for the entire time, based on what they do when I try to sleep or spend literally any time in a room with a closed door
I know my fat lazy cat use to think he was slick as a kitten. He got use to what time I'd get home from work, so he apparently forgot I got home early & I caught him on the counter. He looked at me like he saw a ghost. I gave a quick "Get off the counter"! and I never saw hin on it again. I miss his fat & lazy butt.
We normally left her in the house during the festive season, with food and water provided, the curtains all opened for her to enjoy the garden view. When she welcomed us home, she would meowing non stop and let me cuddle, hug and kiss her. Just wait after few moments she would scratch me! So unusual of her during other day. She must have missed me and rebel a lil bit, lol
Cats are usually easier than dogs, to leave home alone.🐈🐩 Are able to stay gone longer, too. A kitten could get into mischief, best to kitty proof home to keep them safe, ofcourse.
When I get home my cat always greets me at the front door. He proceeds to meow, run a few steps and then stretch. Then he demands an ice cube from me that he can play with. 😆

Sabodevenus My cat was jealous too at first. Hated the baby cat. And me too, for a while. He wouldn’t even let me touch him. He’d growl at me when I tried. And he’s my baby. Sleeps with me and all. But not for 2 entire weeks. He was pissed. Now, everything is fine and they are literally inseparable. Just make sure the first cat still feels your affection (unless he won’t let you touch him either.) lol. Then give affection from afar. 😎 good luck.
We used to have a very small semi long-haired chocolate brown female. She always used to use the hand Basin and my parents bathroom when she needed it to pass urine even though she had a letter box which used for everything else. She always seemed to hit the hole I never seemed to mark the porcelain of the hand Basin. As soon as we were leaving she would go up the stairs and climb into the bath and go to sleep. If the bathroom door was closed hell hath no fury as a little cats scorned. So we soon learnt to leave the bathroom door open.
Good choice. I've now a pretty female Calico cat who walked into my house univited more a year ago with 2 wounds, one is serious enough tt needs immediate surgery. After her treatment, d The Vet Dr even advised tt it's best to confine her within d house rather than let her roam freely outside as she may encounter further unnecessary accidents.

Just yesterday 1 yr old cat- Boots- was watching a bird out on the patio. Out of the blue, he jumped so high that he hit his head on top of the patio door frame and came back down onto his brother, Jack's head. This stimulated Jack's allergies he's been dealing with and he went into a sneezing fit. He then sneezed a HUGE glob of snot onto Boots who took off like a bat out of Hell. It was stooge-worthy.
One of my cats doesn’t seem bothered when I go out but Polly walks around the house looking and calling for me. I know this because my son has watched her do it.
If I had to guess, I would say Cecilia probably naps when we're out of the house, or tries to break into my plants (I've guarded them with some sturdy mesh to keep curious paws and claws out). Whenever I catch her doing something she isn't supposed to, she'll freeze, look at me, maybe meow a little, and then hop down to the floor and walk over to me, as if to say "What? I wasn't doing anything!"
I used to work....and my wake up time every day is between 3:30-4:00 am...I’ve gotten used to waking up this time since I started working when I was 20 years old...Believe it or not, even on weekends ....or holidays ! Well anyway, my cat JaQ , a male rescued adult cat....does the same....I never noticed at first, but gradually it came to my attention. Now , As usual ....same wake up time routine,,, if I ignore his “catcalle” he sulks by pressing his nose ,while laying flat on the carpet.😄😄😄🤪🤪
My cat is extremely vocal. I can't get her to shut up.😂. When I come home. I find clothes on the floor. I see my pictures knocked over. Of course I look at her. She tells me "you left next time stay home." She is lonely and as much as I would love to get her a friend before she gets any older. I just can't do it. I'm already allergic to her. Found that out the hard way. But, she gets into things when I'm gone. Leaving me to figure out. How the heck she get my socks. Lol
She has a lot to talk about. I had one, an orange tabby, who'd read me the riot act when I got home from work! I miss her chewing me out for being out all night. She had no way of knowing that I was working! I miss her, I adopted her when she was 17, she lived to be 24, she earned the right to be bossy! And that she was! My Only Sunshine... ❤️

Caterwauling is a big one. Sometimes when I leave the room or even take a nap, my cats will think I’ve left and will howl for several minutes (usually while they hunt and kill one of their fuzzy toys). Often times, when I come home, the same toys will be strewn about the house so I assume they’re doing the same thing. MROWWWW! MROOOOWW!!!

We are slaves to our children too! Guess that it is human nurture then. Just like children each cat has its own unique character which we will get to adore and not have them in any other way.
For our two fury children, the mornings are definitely when they are at their loudest, particularly one of the them (his name is Velcro, who I took my UA-cam name from). We will be met by loud meows when we open the door to the bedroom as if they are totally disgusted that we deprived them of full access to every possible nook and cranny in the house. It's nice though, especially Saturday mornings when we let them into the bedroom for Saturday morning cuddles with no work to have to go to. It's bliss
I had a cat that would purr when she was in a room by herself as soon as you would walk in she would stop! She never purred around us only when she thought she was alone!
When I leave my cat alone, I close the screen door so he can't get out. I don't want him outside if I'm not here. He sleeps while I'm gone. And he'll do a couple of things when I return depending on his mood. He'll either greet me and rug against me, he'll go straight to the screen door so he can go out, and if he's angry with me, he'll try to bite my lower led, and then complete ignore me. He acts like he's deaf, and won't even look at me.
If yrs is anything like mine, don't leave the bread out! Also, better put yr toothbrushes up too...that holder thing in older houses keeps them at the best height for cats to sit on the sink and CHEW them!
My cat drags his favorite toy to a comfortable spot like my bed or the rug near his food in the kitchen while I'm away. When I'm home he rarely pays attention to it. This tells me he's lonely and wants to be comforted by the doll.
When we go out for a day trip and come back later, we often find the cats in exactly the same spot where we left them - they didn't move at all. But when we do come back they often greet us, roll over in front of us, and stretch.
My cat never sleeps when I'm around. Glad I know now he does all the sleeping when I'm out and no wonder he sleeps threw the night next to me lol his always up. 😂😻

By the look of my cats face when I am leaving, I think he must sit around plotting how to get me back for having done so, which builds as the hours pass. Then when get home forgets it all as wants to be fed & for me to empty his litter tray (my cat is one of those that wants his litter refreshed immediately after use & makes a complete nuisance of himself until it is done. Yes I have a cat with ocd 🤣).
I’ve just had my cat checked by vet because she cries plaintively ALL NIGHT. We have had to shut her out of bedroom because of this but she continues literally the whole night. Sleeps all day. Otherwise healthy normal cat. Does she want our attention 24/7 or what? It’s embarrassing when we have guests. Like a baby that cries all night. Any thoughts?

When I stay home on the weekend, my cat gets noticeably more tired coz he can't get any decent sleep during day time with me always making noises

So far hv never seen our female Calico cat catches any mouse but still sleeps abt 16+- hours a day.

We live in Florida and we line our windows with aluminum foil with the shiny side out to reflect out the sun's heat. So our 2 indoor only Siamese/Calico cat girls never have looked out the window. I guess to them our house is all there is. They are aware of the front door but seem to think it is another "outside" room and show no interest at all in going there. They both do however like to sniff your hand after you've been outdoors and get the smells. This is especially true after messing with my spices in the front garden. But I think they are happy with us and each other.
How about taking them out on a leash?
My little guy is more well behaved when I'm not home. I think he misbehaves more when I am home bc he wants my attention.
Our cat sits by the door and waits. I can tell she's been the whole time by how hot that spot on the floor gets and by how long she needs to stretch after getting up. She's all stiff from sitting there for hours. I can hear her meow as I go downstairs. Surprisingly loyal for a cat. She's also great at playing fetch. I think she's secretly a dog in Russian blue disguise. Lol.
There are videos just for cats that are a few hours long..maybe that would give her something to watch and help her separation anxiety..or a kitten if u can have 2!
When I'm gone; I leave the TV on for my cat. He likes to sleep where he can hear me and my family talk. Having the TV on kinda helps since he sleeps in comfort with hearing voices.
My younger cat chews plastic when she thinks nobody is watching... :/ Can't really blame her, as it makes a fun sound and probably feels good on her teeth, but I'd rather not risk her swallowing pieces of it.
My older cat tries to steal food off of plates when she thinks nobody's looking. She's not as good at being sneaky as she thinks she is XD.
My best guess is "MeOw?! mEoW!? MEOW!!" loudly and panicked for the entire time, based on what they do when I try to sleep or spend literally any time in a room with a closed door
I know my fat lazy cat use to think he was slick as a kitten. He got use to what time I'd get home from work, so he apparently forgot I got home early & I caught him on the counter. He looked at me like he saw a ghost. I gave a quick "Get off the counter"! and I never saw hin on it again. I miss his fat & lazy butt.
We normally left her in the house during the festive season, with food and water provided, the curtains all opened for her to enjoy the garden view. When she welcomed us home, she would meowing non stop and let me cuddle, hug and kiss her. Just wait after few moments she would scratch me! So unusual of her during other day. She must have missed me and rebel a lil bit, lol
Cats are usually easier than dogs, to leave home alone.🐈🐩 Are able to stay gone longer, too. A kitten could get into mischief, best to kitty proof home to keep them safe, ofcourse.

Sabodevenus My cat was jealous too at first. Hated the baby cat. And me too, for a while. He wouldn’t even let me touch him. He’d growl at me when I tried. And he’s my baby. Sleeps with me and all. But not for 2 entire weeks. He was pissed. Now, everything is fine and they are literally inseparable. Just make sure the first cat still feels your affection (unless he won’t let you touch him either.) lol. Then give affection from afar. 😎 good luck.

We used to have a very small semi long-haired chocolate brown female. She always used to use the hand Basin and my parents bathroom when she needed it to pass urine even though she had a letter box which used for everything else. She always seemed to hit the hole I never seemed to mark the porcelain of the hand Basin. As soon as we were leaving she would go up the stairs and climb into the bath and go to sleep. If the bathroom door was closed hell hath no fury as a little cats scorned. So we soon learnt to leave the bathroom door open.

Good choice. I've now a pretty female Calico cat who walked into my house univited more a year ago with 2 wounds, one is serious enough tt needs immediate surgery. After her treatment, d The Vet Dr even advised tt it's best to confine her within d house rather than let her roam freely outside as she may encounter further unnecessary accidents.

Just yesterday 1 yr old cat- Boots- was watching a bird out on the patio. Out of the blue, he jumped so high that he hit his head on top of the patio door frame and came back down onto his brother, Jack's head. This stimulated Jack's allergies he's been dealing with and he went into a sneezing fit. He then sneezed a HUGE glob of snot onto Boots who took off like a bat out of Hell. It was stooge-worthy.
When I get out of bed for a moring coffee my fury friend takes place on the spot where I sleep.
One of my cats doesn’t seem bothered when I go out but Polly walks around the house looking and calling for me. I know this because my son has watched her do it.
If I had to guess, I would say Cecilia probably naps when we're out of the house, or tries to break into my plants (I've guarded them with some sturdy mesh to keep curious paws and claws out). Whenever I catch her doing something she isn't supposed to, she'll freeze, look at me, maybe meow a little, and then hop down to the floor and walk over to me, as if to say "What? I wasn't doing anything!"
I used to work....and my wake up time every day is between 3:30-4:00 am...I’ve gotten used to waking up this time since I started working when I was 20 years old...Believe it or not, even on weekends ....or holidays ! Well anyway, my cat JaQ , a male rescued adult cat....does the same....I never noticed at first, but gradually it came to my attention. Now , As usual ....same wake up time routine,,, if I ignore his “catcalle” he sulks by

My cat is extremely vocal. I can't get her to shut up.😂. When I come home. I find clothes on the floor. I see my pictures knocked over. Of course I look at her. She tells me "you left next time stay home." She is lonely and as much as I would love to get her a friend before she gets any older. I just can't do it. I'm already allergic to her. Found that out the hard way. But, she gets into things when I'm gone. Leaving me to figure out. How the heck she get my socks. Lol
She has a lot to talk about. I had one, an orange tabby, who'd read me the riot act when I got home from work! I miss her chewing me out for being out all night. She had no way of knowing that I was working! I miss her, I adopted her when she was 17, she lived to be 24, she earned the right to be bossy! And that she was! My Only Sunshine... ❤️

Caterwauling is a big one. Sometimes when I leave the room or even take a nap, my cats will think I’ve left and will howl for several minutes (usually while they hunt and kill one of their fuzzy toys). Often times, when I come home, the same toys will be strewn about the house so I assume they’re doing the same thing. MROWWWW! MROOOOWW!!!

For our two fury children, the mornings are definitely when they are at their loudest, particularly one of the them (his name is Velcro, who I took my UA-cam name from).
We will be met by loud meows when we open the door to the bedroom as if they are totally disgusted that we deprived them of full access to every possible nook and cranny in the house. It's nice though, especially Saturday mornings when we let them into the bedroom for Saturday morning cuddles with no work to have to go to. It's bliss
I had a cat that would purr when she was in a room by herself as soon as you would walk in she would stop! She never purred around us only when she thought she was alone!

When I leave my cat alone, I close the screen door so he can't get out. I don't want him outside if I'm not here. He sleeps while I'm gone. And he'll do a couple of things when I return depending on his mood. He'll either greet me and rug against me, he'll go straight to the screen door so he can go out, and if he's angry with me, he'll try to bite my lower led, and then complete ignore me. He acts like he's deaf, and won't even look at me.
I just found out today that there are little holes in our toothpaste smh. So now I have to make sure to put it away
If yrs is anything like mine, don't leave the bread out! Also, better put yr toothbrushes up too...that holder thing in older houses keeps them at the best height for cats to sit on the sink and CHEW them!
My cat drags his favorite toy to a comfortable spot like my bed or the rug near his food in the kitchen while I'm away. When I'm home he rarely pays attention to it. This tells me he's lonely and wants to be comforted by the doll.
We let my cat in and out. When he's in, he mainly spends time either in the bathroom, playing with my dogs, or sleeping on my bed.
When we go out for a day trip and come back later, we often find the cats in exactly the same spot where we left them - they didn't move at all. But when we do come back they often greet us, roll over in front of us, and stretch.
When I'm not around her I thick she eats the cat food that she even doesn't wants to sniff 😂

By the look of my cats face when I am leaving, I think he must sit around plotting how to get me back for having done so, which builds as the hours pass. Then when get home forgets it all as wants to be fed & for me to empty his litter tray (my cat is one of those that wants his litter refreshed immediately after use & makes a complete nuisance of himself until it is done. Yes I have a cat with ocd 🤣).

I’ve just had my cat checked by vet because she cries plaintively ALL NIGHT. We have had to shut her out of bedroom because of this but she continues literally the whole night. Sleeps all day. They say never let a cat play with a string esp attached to something and dangling curtain/blinds cords for your cat to play with unattended.
