James Blunt is one of the most underated artist of all time. He is brilliant. A poet that puts his poetry to music.
Try “Carry You Home” and “No Bravery” by James Blunt too. They’re both emotional ones
"No bravery" is probably the only track he done that hit me like a gut-punch. Our battlegroup replaced his and I've been to the places he was operating in and seen the aftermath. Not a nice side of humanity.

Yes, the live version is even better imo, a little bit slower, more emotional and the piano is better.

I didn't discover James Blunt until Iam did Monsters. Until then, I'd only heard "You're Beautiful." I then listened to the original version of Monsters about 150 times and bought all of James' albums. The man is an incredible artist. He has SO MANY great songs it is unbelievable. I can't believe he never got the recognition in the U.S. that he deserves.

I have been a James Blunt fan from the days of You’re Beautiful and he continues to amaze me year after year. I so appreciate that a young man like yourself is open and honest enough to admit that he is moved by the emotion in JB’s delivery and the genius in his songwriting.
I have to say, while I enjoyed him right from the start, it was watching him perform No Bravery live, on stage, and knowing that he had served in Kosovo, that completely destroyed me. I knew I was witnessing more than a popular performer doing his job. What I saw was someone with the courage to lay his soul bare if it meant the message would be received. I will check to see if you have reviewed it already but if not it is my sincere wish that you subject yourself to another emotional Blunt rollercoaster as soon as possible. Thank you for sharing James with your diverse audience.
One of the great abilities of James Blunt is that he really leans into his emotions when he is perfoming live. Sometimes I would argue that it even is better live because of his emotions. For example I would recomend looking up the "Goodbye my Lover" he did on The Voice in your free time (If you have any xD).

James Blunt is a powerful songwriter and the songs are always beautifuly delivered . I also think you should react to no bravery and carry you home but in that order - you will find out something fundamental about JB in no bravery and you need to know that to get the full impact of carry you home. i won't say what because it will diminish the impact.

My sincerest condolences for your loss. I can't imagine what you went and ate still going through. I fear the day I lose my Dad. I was with him and our whole Family When his Dad died and that's all I can think about when I was watching this video. The sadness of losing my Grampa is one thing but imaging my Dads pain is what breaks me when I hear this sing now. I'm not at all ready to lose my Dad and he's 68 so he had a ways to go to catch up to his Dad who was 90 when he died but I still fear thay day like no other. I love my Daddy and Losing him is my worst nightmare so I'm so so sorry for your loss.

First time I heard it, memories flooded into me about my one true love. When I was 35, in 1998, my partner of 12 years passed away suddenly. Sometimes we all need a good cry and James blunt delivers.

Have been a James Blunt fan for nearly 2 decades and I suspect most who comment are as well. James is fearless..poet, composer, musician, and wicked wit. His war experiences..Carry You Home and No Bravery. More recent Cold, Bonfire Heart, Unstoppable etc..

I listened to this song to try and help with pain my children will endure at my death. God help me. I have five children and keeping my cancer from them is the only way I know to make there lives normal. I only have a couple of years but the artist putting together my funeral will be playing this for my oldest son. You can't understand understand you lived through the hell we have experienced.
This and Joji, Glimpse of us, on repeat any time I need a cry.

At first time hearing this I honestly thought it was about someone passing, then I picked up on a couple of the lines and just realized that's just how damn good this guy is lol
I believe it is about a lover saying their good byes and expressing their love and relationship with their lover ... before they passed away. That they will always be with them and love them thru all eternity.
It's the childhood sweetheart you have to beware of. That's usually the great love, and rightly so. But then one of you evolves differently and it's gone, like a kind of death. A kind of dying. I wouldn't change anything, but I'd really rather not go through it again either. Mr Blunt has a way of capturing these things. Oof. Nice reaction. Kudos.

James blunt used to be a high ranking officer in the tank regiment of the British army. He served in plenty of war torn countries and wrote his first album whilst still serving. Bare this in mind and react to “No Bravery”.
I know this came out a while ago but James Blunt definitely wasn't as appreciated as he should have been when releasing these songs! You should listen to 1973 by him, it's one my dad, brother and I always blast and sing along to in the car

James Blunt was a British Army captain in the Blues and Royals and fought in Kosovo in 1999. His unit fought ahead of the front line hunting Serbian units. He was on a mission to secure Pristina Airport ahead of a push but found it was already overrun by Russian forces. He refused a direct order from an American General to attack the Russian force and take the airport, then reported to his British CO, General Mike Jackson, who backed him telling the US General, "we're not going to start World War 3 for you."
