Let me save you 2 minutes of your life by summing it up.
The video is basically saying that if you're awkward, it's probably because you're really good at something, and that's good! It also means that you're more likely persevere and succeed because being awkward tends to come hand in hand with the ability to focus really well on what you're doing, DESPITE going through tough times.
The point is not you being awkward, is you work hard asf.
From what I've learned in corporate America, hard work will not be the only thing that will get you places. You need to work hard and also have the people skills, otherwise you become the people who have been in the same role for 10 years.

Personally, I feel that being socially awkward also means having more free time alone, which means more time to study and focus on a particular/passionate solo activity and *because* we
lack the social life to distract us--it eventually leads to success, probably. In that regard, it's good to be "socially awkward."
I've already come to terms with my personality traits being the socially awkward introvert that I am--now when the success thing kicks in....
You're making it sound as though every shy, awkward, socially anxious person is some kind of hidden genius savant. They are not. Very few are. Likewise, excelling in one topic does not make you socially inept.

Sounds like me. I dont trust humans and am very awkward in groups, but very profound in a 1 on 1 situation. I am a genius in a few categories but a moron in others. I dont like the schooling system not because it sets standards, yet that it is more of a belief that is being imposed on the masses. If it focused on each individuals personal traits it would make more sense than wasting 12 years of our lives to end up with no direct focus. It seems social skills would be something that would give students a fighting chance, yet society doesnt put much behind fields of psychology or say drama class, etc. Its more likely that they dont want us to have a fair chance because its a threat to their chance to excel. So mental dissorders such as extreme narcissistic behavior is awarded in this dog eat dog world.

I’m good at drawing and learning things about the body and I’m super obsessed with the MCU! I can also lucid dream which is pretty nice considering it’s like having a double life but one you can control completely

I'm the most awkward and anxious person I know and all I can say for people like me is learn to not follow what's popular and don't be fake around people and just do u and you'll be more happy
I've always been awkward, weird, strange, uncomfortable in social settings, not fit in with any group, and I quit school so I wouldn't have to give a speech in speech class. Yeah. That bad. But I am nowhere near successful. I hope people like me can get the help they need to be successful in life. Peace everyone.

I only just recently became social....ive always loved hanging with my mates and stuff but now i love being around good groups of people.
I still work on my hobbies but i love that I can now take brakes and hang with different people.

Being socially awkward makes me angry. I'm so socially awkward that people make fun of me, this makes me angry and motivates me to do better. It motivates me to make more money, do a better job, and out do everyone just so the people that talk crap about me can look at themselves and see how pathetic they are, which makes me feel good.
I personally hate working with socially akward people but I don't deny their work ethics and thier skills is astonishing

Correlation is not causation. I think it's likely the other way around. People who are super focused on a particular area of study/work for extended periods of time are more socially awkward on average. I find myself becoming less socially awkward the more I interact with people and visa versa.
My native language is spanish, now i'm english fluent and currently learning french. I'm always trying to improve my speaking skills. Whereareas such as math and physics i just can't deal with and have brought me really hard times at school. I struggle with social anxiety to the point of getting panic attacks, it is so hard for me to interact with other people that i even question myself why bothering learning new languages if can't even order lunch at school for myself. I enjoy learning i'm just afraid to make mistakes, so if i want to communicate with anyone i'll be sure to be perfect in every sentence that comes out of my mouth.

sometimes i think about a specific issue, i ask why, and how, and somehow i come up with some seriously brilliant ideas.
but then again, i was just there, in my room, sitting in my bed. Away from all the people. People. They make me feel weird and uncomfortable.

There is no such thing as [smarter]- we are all genius at least at one thing. Some of us are good in math, some of us are good in English literature, some of us an excellent auto mechanic, while others are great athletic, and some are great chef. There is a genius in all of us. One has to discover his or her genius. Stop labeling people as smart, superior or the like…Stop dividing people it’s simply nonsense.
There is nothing good or bad about being a social awkward people, they simply suffer from neurological disorder . Like many in Silicon Valley…we call them nerds.

yea, this is me :/ i am referred to as a musical genius but i could have applied this ability to anything and i have proven that despite my circumstances. its sad though... i am broken now.. all the trauma and abuse.. never thought id live to be past 16 but I'm 32. anyway... it is interesting.. but I've found like everything else in this world.. it is all just math.. everything here is math.
