There is a guy in the cnc/woodworking community who is a triple amputee. He stepped on a IED in Afghanistan in 2010. The way these heroes approach life is a huge inspiration. God uses them to show the rest of us what real men are!!
Can you please work on the guests audio. The past few seem to have gotten worse. I keep missing key points as they’re moving around & getting out of range of the mic. Maybe a lapel mic for them. I’m digging the regular Sunday night episodes. It’s a good time slot.
It's because he doesn't wear headphones, he has no idea when it's happening. He needs to start wearing headphones or the producer needs to start reminding the guests to keep the mic close when it happens. Or, producer could tell Mike and he could tell the guest, but since Mike doesn't wear headphones, he would have to have something in front of him to see a message from the producer. People also tend to move around during the most emotional parts, which is hard to interrupt
Imagine having the lack of Respect for these Real Men to try and tell them what to do on their platform. May be when you matter u can be a guest and address your lack of hearing with Mike.
From what I understand, if you firmly affix both your hands around your neck and apply 15-20lbs of gripping strength, this helps increase hearing capability and sexual pleasure.
There's a gate on the audio compressor that is kicked in. Turn it off and you will be golden or The gate threshold is set too high so it is chopping off anything that falls below the threshold. Great guest and your show rocks.
This was one of my favorite one's yet!! I have a lot of respect for all of the people you have on but man my respect for him on how this changed his whole point of view on things and how he tackles every day hit deep within me. I watch you, Shawn Ryan, Jacko, and several others and every one has that one episode that hit really deep. I thank all of you for doing what you're doing it's amazing. My dogs are Team Dogs now too and they're loving it!!
These are my heroes! They will disagree and say the heroes are those who never made it home, and they are too. Whenever I feel like suck starting a shotgun, I hit up a hero like Derick and chit changes real quick. At the minimum go and seek help brothers and sisters. YOU ARE ALL WORTH IT. REACH OUT!! Love you all
Knocked another one out of the park, Mr. Ritland! Mr. Carver had me laughing throughout this interview. One of the main reasons I enjoy watching Mike's interviews is the comedy that unfolds aside from great stories. Thanks for hitting on the political aspect as well. On a side note, I carry an old-school flip phone.
Man said “I’m like a hippie, but I’m also like violent about it ya know, sooo…” I freaking spit my coffee across the room hearing him say that!! 🤦🏻♂️😄😆🤣🤣🤣🤘🏼🤘🏼
My heart stopped beating and the world turned grey; by God's grace the people in cardiology knew how to help me when seconds count. We are not alone. . Derick's description is so vivid and real.
I'm 49 now.at 18 I did three years in VT jails. At age 22,I could bench,on Olympic weights mind you, free weights, 425lbs 3 times. Not a surprise,as I am a Dairy Farm Boy until my mid teens, and was throwing 60lbs pound hay bails on the wagon, from the ground,at 7 years old. And yes a bale of alfalfa hay weighs 60 lb sometimes 70 75 depending on moisture content. In other words I had so many things going for me had I not f***** up and hung out with the wrong idiots, and if I hadn't been messed over by my family anyway this dude's awesome thank you
Mike is one of the few guys who may interrupt every now and then and you actually want to hear is story or input. Usually I can't stand when that happens, but love this podcast, and Mike's format. Bad Ass
Hooyah brothers... couldn't agree more about service. I left as a teenager in Navy special weapons, 6 years, Lebanon, Grenada, NATO Europe. It absolutely defined the rest of my life. Gave me the tools to raise responsible children, who are all college educated and doing great praise God. I will however, agree that it is not for everybody. However I believe that service is for everybody in other forms such as was discussed here. Bottom line, yes I would do it all again. Definitely glad I served
Crazy I think we had a LT in my previous brigade that I’m pretty sure set the record for blood transfusions he had like 90 or something because he was a triple amputee and his RTO stepped on a pressure plate in Kandahar province, crazy how many body parts and blood that’s been spilt their not just with us but in history.
I'm glad you didn't die man! I have a friend that told me before that he died twice or something like that when he was in the hospital for a brain infection and that's rough..and I hope you find the truth about life but I want to tell people something... if they saw the title of this video or whatever was in the thumbnail or what not 'clinically dead' is not dead... if this man ever died he would still be dead.... not having a pulse for a little bit and somebody Reviving you...that's called being 'clinically dead', you can't bring a person back from the dead that person was still clinging on to life... I know it's easy to misunderstand that because I used to wonder well if a person can die and be brought back to life then why can't you just bring somebody back to life that was poisoned to death a day later? Or somebody that was dead for 10 days?.... it's because they are dead.. not clinically dead.... but anyway I just want to let people know and the only person that has ever come back to life after 3 days is Jesus Christ AKA God and no human on the face of this earth helped Him at all...He was completely dead... now He's in heaven waiting to do what He's going to do next.... and I hope that anybody that might read this will get a King James Bible and learn about actual, recorded, history and where the universe and everything in it including your ancestors and animals ancestors come from and what's really, really, going on.... not some theory, not some religion, not some idea but truth. ( 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV ) that is what Jesus Christ did for you and the Bible says for those of us that are breathing today the way for you to be made right with God and forgiven for your sins past, present, and future is to have your faith on that.... that is Humanity's only hope. People say a lot of things and there are a lot of opinions out there but there's only one truth. Look for evidence and actual proof for everything you believe and if there is none for something you are believing then you are believing falsely...I encourage anybody doing that to stop no matter what your feelings are like.
Love your show, but the commercials make it difficult…I hope you find a happy medium between making money and giving your audience a great learning experience…I couldn’t get through the Gabrielle Lyon interview or this one
I came here to make the same comment. I fully support making some money off your work but commercials were so frequent it kinda hurt the story and how much you could get in to it.
Love the podcast Mike, it’s my favorite- I tried to order from black buffalo, but I live in Arkansas. I guess we can’t order it here. All good, thanks for your service Sir. 🇺🇸
ONE MORE THING MIKE, THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE GUEST MICROPHONE, IT'S A BIT LOW AND GUFFEY. WOULD REALLY LOVE TO HEAR BETTER FROM THE GUEST. LOVE YOUR SHOW AND YOUR GUESTS. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR SERVICE AND FOR LOVING DOGS AND APPRECIATION FOR THEIR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND THEIR WILLINGNESS TO DIE FOR THEIR OWNER OR THEIR LEADER WITHOUT ANY HESITATION. THEY ARE OUR UNSUNG HEROES NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DOGS THAT COME BACK TO THE STATES? DO THEY GET A HOME OR CAN THE HANDLER ADOPT THE DOG THEY WERE ASSIGNED TO? THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW, HOPE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU SOON AS YOU GET A MINUTE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL ☆☆☆
I’ve died twice. Not yet ready to make a video over it. Perhaps I will if I die again and recover. Perhaps not. I’m not an attention seeker. Nice challenge coins. We didn’t have them when I served but what we both have that’s comparable is a DD 214.
Hydromorphone, AKA Dilaudid, has a shelf life of 2 to 3 hours, maximum. I got almost as much time in the hospital as this fella does, unfortunately. And it doesn't last long enough at all, not nearly as long as morphine. What I didn't like was when I was first in there for the first four or five days, they had me on ketamine, and I f****** hated it the new Dreams and Nightmares and hallucinations visuals I hated it bad
I'm so effing pissed off.I can't effing hear a quarter of what he said. I don't know if it's when he's looking to the left or leaning back but I can't hear half of the s*** he's talking about I don't know if it's cutting out I don't know if it's him I don't know what's going on but the audio is very very frustrating we love to hear him we can hear you perfect but they need help please fix it Mike
To the guest, I hope you read this. Gatorade zero, or Powerade Zero even better, the purple flavor, is unbelievable when smoking a j, but it's really good anyway cuz it has no sugar but you can't tell, and there's no saccharine or Diet taste. I highly recommend it especially when you smoke a joint something about taking a drink and then a hit oh my God it tastes so good
The memories he was having over those 5-6 months were most likely ketamine induced, or the tons of damn opioids he was taking. Everyone in that shit thinks basically the same way. Same thing with the fentanyl they gave him. He thinks he discovered some new shit on his own. Cracks me up
Hey, Mike. This is another amazing podcast episode. Will you please quit fucking around with all these businesses and charities and nonsense and either run for Governor of Kansas, run for Vice President (looking at you, Dick Cheney), or start doing 3 of these podcast episodes every day? Also, is Unfuck America on audio format yet? Thanks, man.
When he's talking and it's not about real exciting stuff he's leading up to the exciting stuff he talks nice and loud, and then when it gets to the really most important part of what he's saying he whispers and we can't hear what he said.. what a buzz kill man God I'm getting pissed off about it because I care a lot about it that's why and I'm passionate about our soldiers and our vets I don't want to give them all the respect we can and not hearing this man isn't respecting them at all though it's not our fault I'm just saying. I wish you would have said something to him
There is a guy in the

Or just have a monitor on behind camera. The quality is fine. He even scoots it closer in the early stages of podcast
It’s really hard to listen with earbuds it’s like a limiter keeps dampening the signal.
From what I understand, if you firmly affix both your hands around your neck and apply 15-20lbs of gripping strength, this helps increase hearing capability and sexual pleasure.
Improve: Audio quality sucked bad on this episode.
Sustain: Incredible guest and story as always.
Thanks for another great show Mike ! Much appreciated. Your guest is another example of a great American warrior ! Salute to both of you.
Thanks for telling your story Derick. It’s an important service to tell so we never forget the sacrifices that were and are being made.
Hard as nails, and the debt I owe him as a citizen and brother makes my head spin. God bless.
Dude gets blown up, fucking gets up and brings it to the world. Love his attitude, we can learn so much by his example, thank you for your service.
There's a gate on the audio compressor that is kicked in. Turn it off and you will be golden or The gate threshold is set too high so it is chopping off anything that falls below the threshold. Great guest and your show rocks.
"give me anything but pity" - love it!

Violent Hippie! I love it!
Great interview!
Another great podcast !!! Guests voice was a bit low in between him being naturally a soft speaker and the mic being too far away?
Thank you Captain for continuing to kick ass ! HERO ❤️
Another great podcast Mike! Derek is a damn fine American.!
that intro music is bad ass. Thank you dudes
Another outstanding podcast shipmate
For all the snowflakes that complain about the audio, if you loose track of the dialogue over a word or two your not really listen to the show.

Thought the Spaghetti western music at the Introduction was a nice touch 👌

@1:28:19 IF YOUR IN THAT MUCH PAIN , pills are not an addiction , you get addicted to not being in pain and it barely takes the pain away .
Yes, I’m not a vet but clearly we need real warriors in our government.
Thanks for the black Buffalo ad I just ordered some 👍

Hi Mike, another great podcast. I have a question for you, what is the most durable flex leash to use? I am currently training a 60 pound Pitbull.
Now, THAT was an education.
He is right now an opioid addict. He can try his best to make it out like he is not. But he takes opioids every day
I’ve died twice. Not yet ready to make a video over it. Perhaps I will if I die again and recover. Perhaps not. I’m not an attention seeker.
Nice challenge coins. We didn’t have them when I served but what we both have that’s comparable is a DD 214.
Great episode Mike however the audio was so wavy I almost got sea sick.
his story is mesmeriziing and I relate to it, because I have my own story, but the "like" word is very distracting.
13:30 in. There’s fucking brilliance present here men.
Capital Crusader, huh? Nice episode... interesting dude with amazing experiences.
Had to turn it off due to audio issues. Annoying to want to listen to something but can't hear a speaker talk.
Mandatory service, absolutely…..
