Great review style. Right to it. No BS. Specs, check. Play review covered everything. This is a blueprint for others' reviews that are often full of extra non-essential stuff and poorly described, cliche descriptions of the racquet's play and feel. Very well done. Thank you.
This is the best frame I’ve ever played. They’ve updated the flaws that the last frame had. All the power and spin you need for players who take a full cut at the ball plus it comes off the strings like butter. It’s like a prestige for dummies 😅
Would be awesome with a comparison between the Vcore 98 and 95. Are you planning to add weight? If so it would be awesome if you could talk about the result. If possible a comparison between the costumized 98 and 95.
Thanks for the vid Mate! I had a similar path. I used the Vcore 95 2021 until now, but I wanted a racquet with more pop and forgiveness. I am quite happy with the Vcore 98 2023, even though Mark despise this racquet. 🙂
@@simmstennis taking a close look at the pictures it looks that Tommy Paul is using the same mold. I am not sure if Yonex is making a special layup for him. Also I do not see any added lead tapes unless they are under the bumper guard or under the grip.
Strings have such different weights. That is why listing strung specs are silly. As an example switching from Lynx to Lynx Tour upped my SW by 3 pts with nothing else being changed
How is it any different listing strung and unstrung specs? On average, strings will add about 30 SW points as an estimate. String weight DOES NOT vary wildly with different strings, unless you are going from a 1.20 gauge to a 1.30. It may be a difference of 1 SW point + or -.
@@chuckfriebe843 That is factually incorrect. Gut hybrids and full poly (same gauge) vary in multiple grams. I have measured them on a SW machine back to back with matched rackets. EVEN considering what you were saying... who is to know what gauge or type of string they use to list those strung specs? The ONLY objective measurement is unstrung spec and that is what should be listed. If they choose to also add strung spec then that is cool too, I guess.
I'm current using Vcore 98 (2021). I like the power it gives, stability is ok, but I feel disconnected cause is too muted. And, it cause same wrist pain, thats bodering me. So, I'm considering test the Extreme Tour 2022 or the new Vcore 98. Do you think I should test Extreme because is more soft? And about power and stability wich one you like most?
did you find that 95 and 98 were equal in terms of control/power ? Had issues with the 98, couldnt control but it might have been the strings it was a demo - I opted for the 95, great racket but you need to have a solid swing if you want to hit winners. (PS: on your forehand your racket ends up below shoulder level kind of sideways, if you look your opponent is finishing high over the shoulder, you should try that too ). cheers !
I have a video comparing those 2 as well as the Extreme Tour… check it out: The Best 98 Inch Spin Rackets! A comprehensive comparison: Pure Aero 98, Vcore 98 and Extreme Tour ua-cam.com/video/01F2TsObXP4/v-deo.html
Yes, that was a great racket that surprised me because I didn’t love the standard EZONE 98. I really liked the tour version and was thinking about playing with it but in competitive play there was a bit too much power for me on the mid court ball that needs to be taken as an approach. I couldn’t quite confidently step up and be aggressive with that ball which is something I want from a racket. The VCORE has less mass based power so I feel I have more margin on that ball and I can also cover the ball more because it’s a little quicker through the air.
Play me. Let’s duel
Haha, let’s do it! Let me know if you’re ever in San Diego.

Great Video!!! I love the way you reviewed the specs of the racquet as well as giving your own personal opinions that were very well thought out

amazing what a paint change can do

That's not much
@@chuckfriebe843 Alright bud, good talk.
Lynx tour is an outlier. Very heavy string.

I like both of those rackets a lot! Power and stability goes to the Vcore. Feel and connection to the ball goes to the Extreme.

Yeah, the 95 is definitely more controlled
Did
you speed the video up? Something about the frame rate doesn't feel right
Yes, I speed it up a bit during the section where I am getting the specs
@@simmstennis Consider normal speed. It gives a better idea of how a ball comes off the strings.
Oh, the part where I am hitting is not sped up… only the part where I am getting the specs of the racket is sped up a little
Have you ever hit with the Pure Aero 98? How would you compare it to the VCore 98?

You prefer the 98 over the 95
What about the 95 with lead tape verus the 98 ?
It’d be close but I still think I’d prefer the added forgiveness of the 98. Especially against heavy pace.
@@simmstennis I highly suggest you try the 100
Calling that static weight “a little under spec” seems criminal. .6? How accurate your scale?
Would it be more accurate if I said that it was on spec?
@@simmstennis yes I think it would be more accurate to say it was on spec.
What do you think about adding some lead?
I like it as is for this version. I did add lead to the last version though…
What was the tension on your strings? I know you're using the Solinco Hyper G 1.25.

The Extreme Tour

Hi, what did you string it with ? and what tension? Thanks.
Solinco Hyper-g 125 @52lbs
what equipment do you use to film your sessions?
Just my phone and a fence attachment
what string are you using? (green)
Solinco Hyper-G 125
@@simmstennis what are the benefits of hyper g ( 1.25 )?

I agree

I actually just finished editing a review for it today! I’ll post it tomorrow
I just bought one..come on Yonex...not even a zip tie cover? Even my daughter cheap made in China Vcore Feel came with one...
I can't not tell you how much i dislike your forehand technique
You’d like it even less across the court from me 🤣
Your forehand technique and backhand technique need a lot of work
Your forehand technique is a little suspect.
Yes, more flexion than normal
don't like the swing path, would be better if the racquet finishes a bit higher relative to the body instead of the waist maybe at least chest height
Yep, on most balls at least
@@nightowldickson nailed it!
' A little suspicious' fits better here, I think. Cause 'suspect' I associate with a person who might've done something bad or a crime. ✌
why does every american amateur use hyper g?
I can’t answer for everyone but I use it because it’s a solid all around string and I get it for free
Your serve is amazing..pro grade..rest is kinda bad
🤣
