I sold my 790 and bought a Tenere 700. I like the Tenere 700 a lot better than the 790. I’m glad I made the decision to switch. An added benefit is the reliability of the Yamaha!
Another great video Dork ! I have been reading some of the comments today and wow. Some folks seem to be very jealous that you worked your ass off to get where you are ! I appreciate every video that you produce ! The time and effort put into this has to be brutal some days. I’m happy you get to do what you love for a living. That’s the American dream sir, and you are living it 🇺🇸
I have the same rear brake extender you put on in your install video. I roasted through the stock rear brake pads and replaced with Galfer sintered pads. That combo now made a big difference in the pedal feel and response.
@@MyADV360 I would say to attempt an "across the Columbia camping trip" if we have another hellacious fire season. Last year wasn't so horrible in the Gifford above Trout Lake/Carson area
I totally agree about everything you said about the Tenere around the 19:00 - 20:00 timeframe. It has helped me build skills because it's always like "I got you, bruh" when you're pushing yourself. I'm honestly bummed that I have to sell mine soon when I move out of the US.
Hello Mike from Reno. We met last year at the giant loop rally. I was the recipient of your Swag backpack. I too had a DRZ and now a proud owner of a black T7. It is confidence inspiring. Is fun to ride too. I'm here in Washington until the end of July. I will be at the Tour Tech rally the 23rd to the 26th. Hope to see you there. Good job on the videos. Also planning on doing the Washington BDR sometime the end of July.
I went up to my hood this weekend to check snow. Bennet pass and barlow road have several feet of snow. May not be able to ride up there until august this year.
I knew you would love it 🥰. I have the same tire you have now. I think I'm going back to more of a road tire. I lost 10 mph with those and like you say there loud. Great tire though. It's just that I'm more on road than off. And I'm almost never in the mud
Loves me my MotoZ! You think the RallZ is noisy….try the Tractionator Enduros, you’ll think the RallZ is a mute 🤣 I’m running RallZ for the Oregon trip and took mine for the first run last weekend. My thoughts: I prefer the Tractionator Enduros. Loving that T-7 dude!
Crazy that there was so much snow your way. We camped near-ish Sleeping Beauty trailhead a few days after you filmed this video. Saw a decent amount of snow left, but not quite 2' deep. Unfortunately, we were in my JeepJeep, not an ever awesome T7.
Thank you for all your awesome moto videos. Most specifically your KLR/motocamping content. It's always been a dream to motocamp since I got into riding. Now that I officially own a dual sport bike, I intend to make that a reality this year. You've been a great inspiration and a lot of help. Thank you, again.
Hello. I love your content on the channel. I just didn't understand why the sofa is in my forest room? What's the story? Is it yours because you found it or because you took it there? Surely you didn't take the sofa into the middle of the forest to pollute it!
You probably would have made it trow the snow. You don't get stuck that fast. Just keep the throttle steady, and don't stop. Lots of fun riding on snow. And if you don't use the front brake off-road, you should try out, and train on using it hard on the dirt road. So fun to get the front wheel skidding, each time you make it with not crashing…
It's a bit different, but you should review the SM version of the DRZ400. It has different ergonomics and it would be interesting to hear your take on it.
Very jealous of all those roads. That is exactly the kind of "off-roading" I am into. Here on the east coast things go from that kind of well traveled dirt road to completely unmaintained mud pit in a matter of feet. Can be frustrating at times trying to put loops together. Nice terrain. Enjoy it! I am a little disappointed to see how heavily you are farkling these motorcycles. Seems like it may diminish the value of any head-to-head comparisons you make. I hope you keep careful track of all the modifications you make and the cost of those mods to account for in whatever comparisons you make. Not to suggest for a moment you don't have a subscriber over here. Keep it up. I dig the content. And don't sell out no matter how much free swag they send you.
Great video, and this bike is amazing from what I've seen it can do. But even with this great bike, your reaction to deep snow, just solidified how much I want to buy or build a fat tire bike. Like a TW200 with more suspension travel, or a bike that BVC has a big wheel kit for. I really want to be able to go anywhere. I'm also interested in All Wheel Drive bikes, like Christini motorcycles, Baltmotors Bulldog, or a dual hub motor fat tire electric motorcycle. As great as the Tenere is, it will still get stuck in mud & snow. Unacceptable.
How do you like the tenere in comparison to the Aprilia Tuareg 660 you previously test rode? I got the chance to ride one this past weekend, and I thought the Aprilia was hands-down an awesome bike.
I may have missed it, but can you share where you were riding? I am in Puyallup with an Africa Twin and my buddy with a KLR 650 always looking for fun places to "offroad"! Many thanks! I've enjoyed every video I've watched and learned a lot too!
Interesting Tire combo. I went with Tusk DS on my Gen2 KLR. They are definitely a bit squirrelly. My front wore out (center knobs) after 1700 miles. Rear is still 50-60% after 2000+ miles. Will be interesting to see your experience. I do like the T7
And for this weeks favorite quote "They get paid by the load, kind of like a Sperm bank".. I salute you Dork.. truly earning your name ... How about instead of "Off road" we go with "Off Pavement"? .. although in the stories i tell the family it's a friggin goat trail with boulders the size of homes..
How is this T700 vs the 2022 KLR? I have an older gs1200 for street only and a TE250 2 stroke for trails. I’d like an “off road” adventure bike that would never see single track and enough capacity for adventure touring. KLR would be an option but this T700 looks great too
I don’t remember you saying you were getting bounced all around on the KLR thought you were living it. Can you show a clip of where you were getting all bounced around and not liking KLR on same road please.
@@DorkintheRoad it would be very much appreciated a serious and comprehensive Aprilia Tuareg review. Not over specs but comparing riding feel experiences
Just completed a three week adventure ride in South Africa and Botswana and was able to rent a T7. Handled everything Africa had to offer including miles and miles of sand. The bike “travelled” quite well too. Now in a desperate search to find one🙁
Awesome job showing the view spots! I appreciate you sharing those. You have convinced me. If I had the money to buy one I would, if I could find one to buy. Inventories in Michigan are bad in most bike categories. Price gouging is getting worse. Sad times.
Do you find your tombstone mirrors move in the wind? As soon as I get over 60mph they move out of the wind. I'm thinking about getting the small round ones in hopes of keeping them in place
Looking at getting the quad lock mount for my T7, do you know which diameter is the correct one for it to fit on that top bar mount? Looking at mounting the phone horizontally on that until I get a dedicated gps.
Great bike, but "off-road" definitions that apply to the T7 are STRICTLY limited to what you see in this video. The T7 is NOT a real off-road bike unless your Pol, or have 20 mins left to live. Yes, I owned one.
Why do you even try to understand it? What's it to you? What's the worst that would happen if you simply accepted that you don't understand and leave it at that?

Wow! Beautiful views. Nice to see the demo of the knobbies. That T7 is nice!!! Good job.
Beautiful terrain there, you are a lucky man! Glad you like the Tenere, love mine. Cheers, Ronny
Snow is still pretty low. Going to help with “fire season” this year thankfully.
I really hope you're right Travis, the last 2 years camping out at Odell have been terrible with the smoke from nearby fires.
Hoping for the same here in BC.
