I used to use them on my 950SE. Very good but not amazing, esp the front in mud. So I switched to MotoZ Tractionator Enduro ST front and Desert HT rear. They are far better than the 908s, last 5000km, but loud on highway. Now I'm trying the Mitas C21 front, which is as good as the ST with no noise. Just ordered a Mitas E12 Rally Star -- which Birchy helped develop with his 950SE. Good work, sir.

D908rr on the rear & Pirelli Scorpion Rally for the front, would be my favorite set for mid distance dual sport rides! For a muddy conditions I might go with MT21 in the front.
kyle try this. people are putting to hard a spring on this bike because reviewers are saying it needs it. if you have stock spring back off the preload on the back shock a couple of clicks, you will find the weave on the road will be less. let me no your thought after trying. also i run 35psi on the back off and on road as dont see any difference off road but on road it a lot better. if you do a lot of road work at speed just put a michelin anakee wild up front it good off road to you can realy do some speed on this set up on and off road, worth giving it a try.
Great feedback on the suspension set-up. I have run this rear with the AX41 front as well as the Dunlop TrailMax mission front with ZERO wobbles. Pretty good set-up.
Great review mate. I'm currently running up front on my 701 a Mitchelin desert race which I like so far and motoz trackionator enduro st on rear which is great offroad but absolutely screams on the tar. I've tried the tkc80s front and rear but have put me upside down in the mud a few times. Heaps sand here so always running low pressures off road 12 to 15psi. Mite have to give the 908rr a go in a couple hundred more kms. Cheers
Yeah, the TKC80's in the mud have put me upside down more than once... or more than a dozen times! Just not enough tread depth for real mud work in my opinion. The 908RR worked really well on the T7, that is for sure.
Hey Kyle, love your vids bro. I was actually curious about your opinion on the T7 vs the KTM 1090 I’ve seen you riding in some of the other testing vids. I own the KTM and was wondering if the T7 would be any better off-road, but they’re still impossible to get a hold. Thanks man keep up the great work
Man... Thanks for the inquiry. The T7 is the easiest to ride Adv Bike off-road. The motor is so freaking forgiving. 3 rd gear lugged down to idle then with a twist of the grip it tractors right up to speed. The KTM does NOT do that! However on the highway the T7 did not impress. Twisties up hill ... left me wanting more. Look at my top speed video and you will see what I am talking about. The KTM is MUCH more fun!
Nice! Take a look at my KTM 390 Duke videos... it has 17” front and rear wheels. I have run the Bridgestone AX41’s and love them! Now I’m running the TKC 80 in the front and the TKC70 Rocks in the rear. Next up... I’ll do the Motoz RallZ in the rear and the TKC80 in the front. Pretty legit set-up!
Yes, this was the matching 908RR front tire. They are OUT OF STOCK here in the USA. I am waiting on my Dunlop contacts for more information. Rumor had it back in 2019 that they were going to begin making them here in the USA instead of importing them from France. Maybe that has taken place... We shall see!
I'm curious, can you try using these tires in the sand wash on a different motorcycle? The t700 has astounding "anti squat" characteristics because of how high the rear countershaft is, making the rear swingarm and front end stay firmly planted. I wonder how much of the good performance was the bike and not the tire? Whats your opinion?
Thanks for your inquiry. I have run these D908RR tires on my KTM 950 Super Enduro as well as a Honda Africa Twin in the same Tire Test loop I typically run. The tire had the same results on all three bikes. It is a fantastic tire on and off road... The only drawback is the fact that it wears out really quickly. The recent price drop does help it to be more attractive. It works, that is for sure!
Looking good those knobies!. .thanks Kyle. Now I'm using Mitas E07 (a bit noisy front) on my 2018 1290 S. Adv. R, but when they wear out I'm planning to try the MOTOZ Tractionator Adv. in the front and the GPS in the rear (looking for long lasting 50/50's)...what do you think?
Sounds great! I ran that combo (GPS rear & ADV front) and got over 12K miles out of the set! They work well everywhere... and I ran them for just about a year. (way too long for me... but they were good!)
The “Real Scorpion Rally” not the STR is a much more aggressive tire off-road but it sucks in the high speed street twisties. That is where the 908rr excels. Pick your poison eh? ;)
The Rallz is a better all around tire, especially for bigger more powerful heavier bikes. Off Rally front tire is much more dirt oriented (like an MX tire) where the RallZ is more 50/50 oriented. Off road I think the rear tires are comparable.
How does the rear compare to the Rallz on wet aslphalt? I’ve used one in outback Oz years ago but now I’m in norway. Loving the scorpion rally front and want as aggressive off-road as I can get on the rear without being sketchy on wet corners on road
I think the RallZ is a superior tire on many fronts. Overall grip, tread depth, alternating lugs and wet weather traction on and off road. The silica in the RallZ makes it do pretty well on wet roads. Watch the 3:00 mark on this video where the RallZ are ripping it on wet pavement ua-cam.com/video/01Jx4bpEbMs/v-deo.html Cold Wet pavement at that... then up into the SNOW. Love them...
