- The title says it all really...Tool have genuinely changed the way I listen to music; now I pay a lot more attention to the nuances in songs and the intricacies in the instrumentals & the atmosphere being created - Thank you Tool. What an amazing track, Fear Inoculum is my album of the year without a doubt and it’s only September!🔥🔥🔥

This album continues to absolutely blow my mind - I hope you guys enjoy watching this video as much as i enjoyed recording/editing it! Have a great weekend people!🤘🏼 What’s next off of the album? Descending I’m assuming from the feedback thus far?🕵🏻♀️ #RoadTo60K⚡️
Yes, Descending for sure, Drew.
Definitely Descending, it's my favorite track off the album with Pneuma in close second
Drew Fortune 😜🎧🍁🍻🤘
Every song on every album backwards order, you already got a start😜
Repeat it with me... "THERE IS NO BAD TOOL SONG"
I love that the younger generation is feeling a true appreciation for just how sophisticated and incredible a lot of the tool songs are. Fear Inocculum is clearly a more modern and polished version of tool and I think it’s just as incredible as everything and anything they’ve ever done
I love to see the younger generation mounting the spiral as well. I wish the people doing the reaction videos would start at the beginning, with Opiate and work their way all the way through sequentially. I was just going into high school when opiate was released, which I loved from the start, but Undertow really started 'the story'. The albums 'tell' a story of experience and personal growth, the evolution of the authors (the band members) ability to tell the story effectively and poignantly.
Tool hit it completely out of the ball park with this album.
Can’t understand how people didn’t rate it. It’s changed me slightly, for the best. Life is slightly better overall with this album in my life. Pure class.
With every album I would say :D
I think it's funny even lifelong Tool fans were slamming this album at first.....you can't absorb a Tool album on first listen.....this album is a MASTERPIECE!!!!!
I've been a fan of tool since the moment I first heard them. The moment this album came out, I immediately heard an absolute masterpiece, and couldn't fathom why "old schoolers" slammed it at first. It's fucking brilliant.
Pretty large sweeping generalisation
i think a lot of people are sleeping on Descending , it is an extremely good song
It’s my favourite
Decending is my fav track then fear n pnumea tied at second place for me
gong moment.
100% it's a big call but I think it will eventually have a status similar to "pushit - live" version
mokoarii pushit is my favorite tool song and live was amazing.
R.I.P my man Justin not getting remembered at the start :'( #loveforbass
I knew I was missing the bassist but his name escaped me🤣 don’t worry, his efforts certainly didn’t go unnoticed 🔥🔥
And he’s a Brit! Justin I mean...
he doesnt get enough credit
my heart skipped a beat after reading the first four words
Holy Christ you scared me, I thought he died and this is how I was finding out lol.
Don't forget Justin Chancellor, the bassist! Easily pulls his weight- many a Tool song remembered by those signature basslines!
I look at Tool and see two guitar players and two bassists. Most songs, at some point, is hard to know who playing what part. Adam will chug out bass lines while Justin carries the melodies. I hear a part I dig and pick up the guitar and then.... Shit that's the bass playing the riff. Not great on the bass but can kinda make it look I what I'm doing. Haha
@Robert Siegfried He is superb on this album
they're all anchor points.
“The rhythm is hard to keep up with.”
Welcome to TOOL my friend 😂
At 49, this song has brought me face to face with my mortality in a very jarring way. No more pissing around, change is coming. God damn, I LOVE this band & what they have done for my consciousness!
Tool forces you to have patience. At first it boring, but then you start to understand, then its liberating. Then you begin to experience and see and understand different things that actually makes you experience music instead of just hearing it for the sake of heariing it, you start listening. Then the hunger begins, and you begin hunting for the meaning and the actual theory. As a hobby musician i can only speak for myself.. Cheers!
Truth!
maybe if you been listening to pop music
@TheBlackiwid I first I thought as you do. But looking into, its much more than meets the ear. Its precise, complex, and creative all being seemingly boring. It might have been a "weaker" song but its still a good one. Not my favorite though.
@TheBlackiwid i agree it is the weekest.but it is not bad song.its just weak compered to other song that are great.i likek pneuma the most but now im starting to like descending same as pneuma.i think all songs are extraordinary, even fi
If u find tool boring okay whatever !
Listening to Tool for 25 years has made me a much better critic of all music. It has, like you said, forced me to listen for the nuance and meaning behind every song I hear and how it relates to the universe as a whole. I have evolved to be a better listener because of this band.
Fun fact: the new Tool logo becomes an inoculation syringe when folded in half along its vertical axis.
°∆•SciFiSky•∆° that’s actually kinda sick. Haven’t seen anyone else mention this
I observed that recently and it blew my mind
🤯
I.E. Tool being Tool 🤘
@@ghostwood9174 Maynard would probably claim it was unintentional and that the fans are reading too much into it. Because Adam probably didn't tell him that it was part of the plan all along, lol.
That's a Justin Chancellor bass solo in the middle there son.
Greg Payne 1st part is.then Danny plays on some pads.seen it live.pretty crazy!
“Danny Carey, now you behave.” Best thing I’ve ever heard lol.
I concur.
It's been really cool to see how you've grown for tool, when you first played fear inoculum, the song, you were very impatient. then one day you got it, and now you live in this beautiful space with us.
1990 to 2019 ....29 Years of Tool.....29 Years Fan.....this CD is their absolute Peak !
Ingo von der Lühe I’ve clutched Aenima for so long but you might be right. FI is really a step beyond
U might be right. It’s absolute progression. Where every music artist only dreams of ever going to or reaching one day. These guys have met and exceeded it. I’m super stoked they made another album and the fact that it’s so so so good just means it was all worth it. Tool is the greatest.
@@HoonAgain Besides Devin Townsend of course ;)
For now.
Same here! I can't wait to hear what's next from them.
dude, this is like watching a TooL lover being born, your videos are so GENUINE...bro...I was cheesing right along with you
My favorite song off this album ,the main reason being that I’m a 48 year old martial artist and military brat who daily is striving to maintain my health and fitness and everyday becomes a struggle. This song really speaks to me. Plus,it’s badass.
David Bailey same same I’m 40 and Tool fan since Opiate in the beginning and I struggle hard to maintain healthy lifestyle. I work a lot and do the family thing. But this album has me working out on schedule and super focused on health. This album is all I’m listening to since it released. Just so much depth to it and so much to appreciate. Feel like I get a dose of that stuff Bradley Cooper takes when he’s able to focus and do everything he puts his mind to. For Tool fans songs like Invincible, Pneuma and others off this album speaks to us. Cheers dude. To good health and good music.
I’m 49, Tool is what Led Zeppelin was to me in my youth
yes this is my fav too just turned 51 can soooooooo relate ..."of the things we've done caligula would grin" best line!!
Yeah I'm 45 and feeling the same way!!! David, you literally sound like you're Maynard's twin....now all you have to do is start your own vineyard and vintner and you would have literally become him. 😂
Over 40 convention right here!!! 😂😂😂
Pneuma is my favorite as well but the drums on Invincible are in a different universe.
7EMPEST has INSANE drumming.. Danny is all over that song
Me too! Pneuma is also my favorite!
I just came from Jerome Arizona, Maynards home town where he makes wine. Amazing Tool Vibe in town. Very small town packed with Tool fans. You should see his house in the desert at high elevation. Excellent experience and great wine. It was a real treat eating at his restaurant in Cottonwood just 2 miles from his place. I highly reccomend going.
"The bass is so subtle in this one"
Queue the baddest loudest bass solo ever 😂
Yet the irony is nobody seems to realize it's a bass solo
@@davidsan9654 I'm a bass player and even I didn't notice until somebody pointed it out to me. Just makes me appreciate it even more.
Yeah I watched them live and didnt even realize. Granted i was losing my mind. On LSD. But i had to watch them play In DC the other night before I fucking realized lol.
I canta distinguish the bass solo:( where is it?
I still fill the same chills on the instrumental part after the ponce de leons part
Save Third Eye and Pushit(Salival) until you think you are ready.
phokas I know people say Third Eye is there “best song” but idk. That song just doesn’t do it for me.
& reflection
Pushit(Salival) Live Version is unbelievable ;)
Third eye is my favorite song. The song simply ridiculously layered, meticulously produced, and performed at god tier levels by all band members
@@LegendaryGoetz so
Tool is a drug, your reaction proves it XD
Maynard scream? lol he said in an interview that he out did himself screaming too much in the 90s. He is 55 and has a hip replacement from being too awesome.
hip replacement ? not strange considering all those one-legged squats he did in the 90's.
Where the hell did you get this hip replacement thing from?
@@recession81 a doctor at a hospital? maybe the black market?
The Faded Line Lol you haven’t seen him on joe Rogan huh
@@JensenP12 I've never seen him do that, it isn't pleasant i can wager
I now consider myself lucky honoured and privileged to have been listening to this band for over 26 years of my life I’m 43 now so more than 1/2 my life I have been blessed to be able to listen to this... thank you 🙏 universe....
gumbyrollers that’s pretty much my story as well. Bought Ænima in 96, been loving them ever since.
Same for me. They changed my life from way back then. Finding out Adam worked on movies and on music inspired the hell outta me as far as the possibilities of choosing a life doing whatever passion you want to follow! Now I work in film and tv production and do music on the side. Don’t know what I’d be doing if id never come across their work.
Been a fan since Sober dropped on Headbangers ball when I was a few months shy of 17, now 43 myself!
Do Descending next. It’s insane. Also bro watching your face man. Literally me haha. Justin’s bass and Carey’s drumming on this track were ridiculous. Like bro.
My personal favorite from the album 🔥🔥🔥
Zach Dixon my man ❤️❤️
descending is my favorite track although its all a masterpiece
The face everyone gets when listening to a new tool song
That's interesting that you mentioned being reminded of a clock in the beginning, because Maynard says "time bearing down" towards the end.
Just wanted to say. You are doing good job, buddy. Keep it up, don’t take every single comment too personal, do you as you feel it. The best reaction we expect is a genuine reaction of a person falling into this rabbit hole their own way.
Yes sir! Well said
I like how I just watched a guy get high on Tool.
I was going to give this a like but it's on 46 lol
@@smurfs126 well now it's surpassed 46, but hey, you got 2!
@@koolnem1008 heh true lol
So happy you have a good headset. This song is a beast for us old timmers. One day it hit you like a tone of bricks. But not today.
“I may need to duct tape these to my head”. Yep...that’s exactly how we’ve all felt for many years. Many of speaker blown simply NEEDING it louder. So good on copious amounts of levels. Welcome to this beautiful journey.
Tool"s the best. With a pint of Guinness .🍺
When you throw your hands up and contemplate how amazing this song is, also happens to be my favorite part of the song.
fyi, maynard doesn't scream on this album
The guitar does
am I the only one who kinda hears Maynard bring a bit of Puscifer into the new album? not complaining what so ever. Love it!
That was my very first thought when the single Fear Inoculum came out - at least his voice. I think its just cuz thats how he sounds now. Its still good.
To me, it seems like he improved his singing on Eat The Elephant...and it carried over to Fear Inoculum . Eat The Elephant definitely has Pucifer elements.
It's more a heavy heavy A Perfect Circle than anything
It’s been an absolute joy watching you grow into a Tool fan. It reminds me of how I discovered them myself and know exactly how that feels. Enjoy fella.
I've been on the Tool train for 20yrs, great to see new fans reacting! The pot is one of my favs. Peace and love xx
looks like you're beginning to hear the music truly now - welcome home ;)
the most genuine reaction to tool yet.... i did the same thing when the breakdown finally dropped YES!!
Drew, you're wonderful to watch. You really go all in. Tool would proud of a fan like you, who get it. Being patient and listening. You looked blissful and your emotions are so sincere. As are his lyrics
Haha! This is my favorite reaction to any Tool song. Such a badass song and album. Keep rocking out bro! 🤘🏼🤙🏼
This song is becoming my favorite song on the album.
My favourite song from fear Inoculum is Pneuma 🤘🏻
These guys are masters of their craft in every respect, and on this album I've been really appreciating their control of atmosphere.
We all love watching reaction videos because we get relive moments in our lives "VICARIOUS...ly" through these people... I am truly envious that you get experience this music for the first time and wish I could relive these experiences...
Well at least you can relive some of those moments through me my man!
@@DrewFortune97 oh man in that case you should do a reaction video to this... because this changed music for me...
Although you've heard the sond and rected to it, this video is worth watching and it'll change your perspective on just about everything...
Watch "the fibonacci in lateralus" on UA-cam
ua-cam.com/video/1QjRmzkB81E/v-deo.html
The song is about an aging warrior worrying about becoming too old, so your "clock ticking fast" is pretty fitting.
I think Maynard is talking about himself in this song.
@@burgervonstadt6503 definitely. The "aging warrior" is just a metaphor
Rotting christ Aealo is the best album about this theme
Been listening to this album daily since it came out and I still get chills at some point on EVERY single song. Amazing stuff
A tool song gives you this feeling that you need something and it almost teases you till you cant take it then it gives you exactly what you wanted and then some to take you over the top..I get chills down my spine when I have a good tool moment
Their music is just so perfectly sharp and beautiful, no WONDER it takes them years to come out with another album. Perfection! Well worth the wait! If I were to smoke the “Toad DMT,” this is the music I feel like I’d experience.
11:12 Maynard does this very subtle "Mmmmmmmmm" that is almost unnoticeable...so much heart on this album, despite what anybody says about his supposedly unsatisfactory effort. Especially with "Culling Voices"; he seems hurt and disheartened that someone felt the need to accuse him of sexual misconduct a couple years ago, trying to drag him in to that whole world of ruin. All the lawsuit garbage against Tool finally being behind them, and it's like the guy still can't catch a break.
“Not one person in this band slacks”......... made this old tool fan smile.... rocking since 96.... love to get to experience new tool songs with new tool fans
If there is anything that can compare to this incredibly awesome moment at 11.32 . You were loving it already and I knew what was coming. Your reaction made me cry. I wasn't the only one.
I hope those were tears of joy🥺🤣🤘🏼
11:32
Decending will blow your mind
"Where have you been for my whole life?"
It's funny you should say that, because I wish I could accompany you to your first TOOL concert, to get that rush from hearing them live for the first time through someone else's eyes. I was meant to see them in Lawrence, KS for the 1st time in 5/14/1992 but I went into labor with my daughter. Seen them 11 times since then. I'd love to experience that 1st time experience again 'vicariously'.
I've listened to TOOL for 20years. Watching you react to this is awesome and makes me feel so privileged to have found them so long ago. I don't have to say 'where have you been all my life' haha. Stoked to see your taking the time in this A.D.D world to get in the groove with this music. It really will change your life in a very weird but cool and exciting way. From one long time TOOL fan to a new one... Welcome my friend, please go ahead and spoil yourself with the amazing catalogue that is TOOL. An amazing song I must recommend to you is No Quarter from the Salival album. It's a cover of the Led Zeppelin original done only the way TOOL can and I think shows how amazing they really are, giving a different perspective on a classic bands tune. I think Zeppelin would be more than proud of it, maybe even a lil jealous. Enjoy my friend.
Yes, finally! Loved the reaction as always. I really like that you don't stop the music constantly, and I'm glad that you're understanding their music more. It's amazing when you do because they blow your mind like this did. Descending is amazing so definitely react to that next. Thanks again for an enjoyable video♥️
Scott Mackie ❤️🤘🏼
Awesome reaction...I got goosebumps, loving your reaction to this band
It's so exciting to see new reactions to tool!
Loved Tool since there beginning. I always come back to this song on the album. My reaction to that song mimics yours when I listen too it. Epic song, epic album!
I think he realized it towards the end when he takes the hat off after the 12 min eargasm he just had.
Yessir. Been a pleasure watching you go through your tool journey. Anyone who listens to alot of music and pays attention to what's going on with tool eventually get its. Awesome reaction man. Thanks.
Lovely reaction! Can’t wait to see more! Never get sick of Tool!!
I loved your reaction to this! I could see on your face the exact feeling I get from listening to them!!! Great song!
Sooo much more TOOL to listen to bro !! Keep digging :P , TOOL makes you appreciate being alive and able to experience such things !! :)
Seeing your transformation over the weeks along with other reaction videos reminds me of how tool changed the way I listen to music too when I first discovered them.... It's an absolute joy to see people who also appreciate their art.. Keep up the good work my man!
I am old as in grandpa old ,I love Tool . "Not one person in this band slacks ....best quote!"....they are different....they are an unusually talented group of artists
Great reaction, once again! You're correct, that opening should bring to mind a ticking clock. It's about an aged warrior struggling to stay young. I can actually see him in my minds eye sucking in his belly and getting ready for his final battle. By the way, you're also correct to skip the short songs, they are just fillers. There are only 7 real songs on Fear Inoculum. The shortest actual song is Chocolate Chip Trip, which you might like to review since it is basically a trippy Danny Carey drum solo.
This is a masterpiece my friend ☀️
12.48 check that face. I make the same face every time. Most badass outro to a song ever written.
“Pushit” original version. The definition of gorgeously tragic yet inspiring masterpiece.
my favorite song on the album easily; it's already taken me on so many journeys.
That right there is why i watch TOOL reaction videos. Watching a new fan come to the realization of where has TOOL been there whole life. Congratulations on discovering TOOL bud. Enjoy your journey
BRO.....I LOVE THIS REACTION..IT WAS LIKE LOOKING IN THE MIRROR. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Caligula was a Roman emperor well known for his excess and debauchery.
that bit cracked me up
Loved your reaction to this! Can’t wait to see you react to more of this album. 🤘
My favourite piece alongside Pneuma and 7empest as well as Fear Inoculum. Repeat all day every day!!
Love that you 've appreciated this music mate!
All about the LOVE. Greatness man ♡!
These lyrics are fucking insanely good.. multiple tiers to it from the band coming back to aging
Best reaction vid channel by far. Keep growing, brother!
Ash Shabudin ❤️
I've always said "you don't simply listen to Tool! You experience it!
great reaction! i really enjoyed it!
Caligula - one of the early Roman emperors, had a reputation for being mad and cruel.
😂 mad and cruel??? That’s an understatement 😂
Saw tool live an only knew a few song from the fear innoculum album, and this song came on and my mind was blown. One of my favorite tool songs now
when you described those effects at the start as a clock going faster, i was blown away, that's brilliant from you and even more from them because the song is mainly about them having a retrospect on their lives and battles as old individuals, quite the stuff !
Thank you for waiting! I could not have done it! Love, love, love this song. It is so good. Beautiful music and lyrics. This whole album is a damn masterpiece.
"This was just a warning shot & we know it!"
I adore your reactions! Tool Army here. Keep spiraling out my friend!
That song is beyond description!
It's out of this world awesome!
Pure pleasure 🙂😎
nice reaction to my favorite track of this album for now!!
Randomly came across this in my feed, and glad I did. You seem like a good dude. It's cool to discover you while your starting to appreciate TOOL as you are. As TOOL has been my favorite band since Undertow, this will be interesting to watch, lol. Keep doing what you're doing. Subscribed.
P.S. That "What have you got for me. boy?" had me cracking up. 😂😂
Finally got up close on the floor for a Tool show last week and saw this song. Didn't realize how much of a bass song it was until Justin's solo and everyone else realized it too. The bass is "subtle" in this song, but actually fucking amazing.
Invincible by Tool makes me feel absolutely invincible. I thought after Vicarious Tool couldn’t get any better but they just did. The song resonates within me.
I love Tool and have since first hearing Sober back in the early nineties.
Listen and love the new album ❤️
Told you !! getting some new headphones would definitely make a differene, Good reaction bro ; This álbum is amazing, there's no way to describe it
"I feel like the old me wouldn't have appreciated this song as much as I am now" TOOL changes you as a person lol
The reaction speaks for itself...Damn right, man. This was a pleasure to experience with ya!
You my friend have had a spiritual awakening.
I thought similar to you on fear inoculum, it's weird like I wasn't impressed, yet not disappointed at the same time . But invincible is a masterpeice of a song, as well as pnuema.
Loved your reaction and review of this track, I have been a fan of these guys for like 15 years, and I really enjoy watching people as they start to really get into my favorite band of all time! Liked, Subbed and rang the bell!
Such a fantastic song. Spiral out! Keep going!
Great break down! Let go! Let go!
He's getting it now! Congrats!
Lol your advice at the end for how to approach listening to Tool is the same exact advice for anyone going through a psychedelic experience. It's hilarious how hand in hand those two things go. Like PB&J
