- My Natural Hair Journey (No Big Chop) | Relaxed, Heat Damaged, Transitioning, to Long & Healthy 2021
So excited to be sharing my natural hair journey from start to present in this video! I had relaxed and heat damaged hair from 8 years old, and decided to go natural in 2016. I was starting college, knew nothing about taking care of natural hair or transitioning to natural hair, but I decided to go for it anyways. In just a few years my hair has completely transformed. With no "big chop," I went from relaxed, dry, and heat damaged hair to healthy, long curls. In this video, I share the entire process of my natural hair journey with pictures, my tips for going natural and how to transition, and some of the best products for curly hair.

Your natural hair looks way better! Growing up in predominantly white spaces can do a number on our sense of self. Take it from someone who has totally seen life change for the better by rejecting the white gaze and embracing all that makes me special. Happy for your journey!
I was going natural & then I went to a Dominican salon for pictures. I didn’t know what they put in the shampoo but when I washed my hair it was all straight I cried . (They put a relaxer without telling anyone in shampoo)
That's so fuc*ed up!!!
Omg wtfffffff
No they dont , the Dominican blow out its just extremely high heat . Relaxer not going on shampoo .you can even smell the relaxer is a strong chemical .
Thanks for making this video!! I went natural for 2 years then started a corporate job and felt forced to assimilate and straighten my hair. I straightened my hair for a year and now I’m back on my journey all over again.
Same situation happened to me, so now I’m starting over :(
I am transitioning back to natural, no more relaxers and no more heat
It looks so much better curly
Thank you for sharing your hair journey! I come from a similar background, and I love how you blossomed! You can tell picture by picture just how much you loved your curls!!! This is incredibly inspiring for me to be patient with mine as well 😊✨
I'm transitioning and it's been a struggle so thanks for this!!
I appreciate you talking about stop pulling back hair
Beautiful ❤ Thank you for sharing your journey!
Your hair is so beautiful 💕
aaaww, well good for you muffin👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤝🏾
I went natural in 2016 but my hair got super damaged from constant colouring, bleaching and applying heat. It's finally healthy after a long time
I’m just starting my transition, I’ll be 40 years old next year and I’ve stopped getting perms this past April 🙏 I’ve been getting perms since I was about 7 years old and has never seen my curl pattern 😅 we have similar testimonies
My daughter is in HS and is exactly how yours was. She has about same coil pattern 3B/C low porosity, its very dry and thin, frizzy. She is so tired of keeping up her hair that now she usually straightening and using Blow dryer with diffuser several times a week and showering with conditioner ( Maui Moisture) and not much shampoo and we're in ATX so the water is hard. I love her curls but she is very busy w cheer/theater after school and insist on straight cause of time. She doesn't want protective style either like box braids and personally think they would look great on her but she rather would like to add weaves probably clip-ins or glue. This last summer she damaged her hair further by literally bleaching and dying. I tried to talk her out of it but I needed to let her learn on her own. I would like to get her hair healthy with moisture and natural. Any suggestions - Struggling Dad
The whole video is good
I’ve had not heat for 2 years coming up in September. I’ll be doing a length check in September by straightening but it won’t be straight for long as I like the natural look and feel x
Yay congrats! Yep once you get used to your natural hair straightening it becomes less appealing for sure
beauty you are so pretty miss!
You're so pretty
What do you think about majoring in MIS and minoring in IB?
Beautiful
hey! I have really short damaged relaxed hair and I’m trying to transition to natural. I go to school and we are not allowed to wear any extensions, braids, weaves, etc. There is not much that I can do to my hair. It’s so uneven that the left side is longer than the right. I cant do any simple styles and i dont have enough hair for a big chop. Any tips would be great!❤
hey lynette r ure eye color real ? wow
What’s wrong with Cantu
I think it has alcohol in it but I’m not 100% sure, but also a lot of people say Cantu works really well for them so it just depends on your hair type
Why she look way older in the first pic in the thumbnail
