You hit the nail. A lot of ppl aren’t invested into female rapper + female rap culture. Many ppl think that the rap is only about sex, but won’t listen to the music or give the artist a chance. I’m so ready for the conversation to evolve and move into investing in these rappers. There’s so much talent out and many are blatantly ignoring. ‼️

Male hip hop heads, male DJ, male rappers etc. They all have a vested interest in controlling women through their careers via sex. (Hello Megan and even Saweetie) Its a self perpetuating, misogynistic cycle. And When we see the ones who are slightly more protected and allowed to be versatile, like Doja, their label runs them until they’re burnt out.
Dude the women are choosing to make these songs. Just like gangster rappers who are black males choose to make that type of music. Female MCs are sayin its empowering, and yet in the same breath their fan base complains about it yet consumes it. They choose to rap those words, you can blame the label for burn out, but you cant blame them for the music the artist makes if they have creative control. The women are making the same song and shit music except the ones who are actually dope.z the city girls arent new and that will never last the real will survive .

The product looks good visually, and through such tools as social media, they are marketed so well. However, when you check it deeply, its poorly made, lacking high grade material and substance, doesn't have its own instruction manual (their inability to actually write their own raps) and only ment to last for 2-4 years, before it stops functioning. Before you know it, you will be purchasing the manufacturers' latest upgraded product which has the same lack as the first, but with a new name and a**. Edit:. I'm mainly speaking about American female rap. I personally think the UK female rap scene is very much talented.
